Job Summary:
The Emergency Department (ED) Tech Level I is a multi-skilled caregiver who functions under the direction of the professional Registered Nurse. Provides safe, age-appropriate care to the patient by performing the following patient care functions and technical procedures: vital signs, 12-lead EKG, bedside blood sugar testing, superficial wound care, oral suctioning, splint application, instruction of safe ambulation with crutches. Must understand and practice aseptic technique when required: urethral catheterization, sterile tray preparation, dressing applications and all phlebotomy. Must be able to operate and observe cardiac monitors to ensure recognition of arrhythmias (site specific Kennestone ED), as well as operate pulse oximetry monitors. Requires knowledge of all specialty instruments and trays, including trauma resuscitation equipment and set-up, ENT trays, special procedure trays. Transports patients, unit supplies, equipment, and patient medications. Assures patient care area is appropriately stocked with supplies. Monitor's patients in restraint/seclusion and documents observations. Performs other duties deemed necessary to ensure delivery of patient care.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Provides safe, age- appropriate care to the patient:
* Obtain and document vital signs; inform nurse if vital signs are abnormal.
* Perform 12-lead EKG and hand to ED physician.
* Perform bedside blood sugar testing; inform nurse if result is abnormal.
* Measure and apply extremity splints as directed by nurse or physician.
* Instruct patient regarding safe crutch ambulation techniques with return demonstration by
patient.
* Oral suctioning.

Performs procedures using aseptic technique:

Telesitter Facility Liaison
* Tracks, delivers, maintains, and retrieves telesitter carts
* Troubleshoots any cart connectivity issues and places an IT ticket if necessary
* Performs safe room guideline checks upon initiation and upon every hand-off thereafter
* Performs environmental rounds to ensure safe room guidelines are being maintained
* Responds to remote telesitter escalation for face-to-face intervention
* Notifies Nurse and/or charge Nurse when face to face redirection is requireda.
Transport, using good body mechanics as appropriate:
* Patients via stretcher or wheelchair, ensuring patient safety.
* Unit supplies.
* Equipment.
* Patient medications
Monitors patients in restraint / seclusion:
* Frequency of monitoring performed as per policy.
* Document monitoring as per policy.
* Notify nurse of abnormal findings or observation

Job Summary:
The Surgical Technologist Certified functions under the direction of the registered professional nurse. Assists the health care team in providing safe, age appropriate and culturally aware patient care. He/she has knowledge, skill and ability to perform duties within the context of moderate to high acuity surgical cases (with an expectation on occasion to work above this level as cases require) as defined by the scope of anatomy, equipment and instrumentation of the case and anticipates the needs of the surgeon and other members of the healthcare team.
DEFINITION:
Certified Surgical Technologist required to have a certificate or associate's degree from a community college or a technical school and have passed the a competency examination through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or National Center for Competency Testing
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Knowledge, skill and ability of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon and other members of the healthcare team within moderate to high difficulty surgical cases as defined by the scope of anatomy, equipment, and instrumentation of the case
- * Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure which includes review and utilization of appropriate preference card.
- * Assists with room set-up to include opening of sterile supplies.
- * Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medication/solutions needed for procedure in an accurate, aseptically prioritized, and timely manner, including reviewing and utilizing appropriate preference cards
- * Performs appropriate surgical counts with circulator.
- * Actively participates in the procedure pause/time-out.
- * Scrubs, gowns, and gloves; Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants.
- * Assists in draping sterile field.
- * Passes instruments to surgeon during the procedure. Maintains an organized back table and operative field. Able to anticipate and offer surgeon suggestions throughout the procedure for facilitating cases
- * Maintains highest standard of sterile technique during procedure.
- * Prepares sterile dressings.
- * Actively participates in post procedure pause which includes accounting for proper handling of the specimens.
- * Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization, taking initiative to inform SPD of critical need instrument
- * Applies principles of asepsis to ensure the prevention of infection and safety of patients and employees
- * Prepares case carts according to procedure and preference cards. Reviews surgical schedule and assists clinical coordinator with preparation for future cases
- * Observes patients condition and immediately reports any changes or significant findings to the physician and Registered Nurse.
- * Proactively plans for the next steps in the progression of procedure as needed, demonstrating an ability to adjust without faltering when an emergency arises
- * Performs with the knowledge, skill, and ability within the context of moderate to high acuity surgical cases
- * Prepares OR room and other areas (as needed) for receiving patients, which includes stocking, cleaning equipment or storage areas, turns OR room over, orders/requests supplies, preparing instruments for future procedures, notification of specialty staff regarding needed instrumentation or equipment.
- * Maintains a financial stewardship related to supplies and equipment, only opening required supplies until requested by the surgeon
- Assists the health care team in providing safe, age appropriate and culturally aware patient care
- * Provides relationship-based patient centered care that is consistent with population specific characteristics (e.g. age, gender, disease, etc) in a manner that adapts service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity under supervision of the registered nurse
- * Always partners with the patient by verifying procedure and conducting relief bedside shift report.

- Be able to explain all mammography procedures to patients including routine mammography, spot compression views, magnification, wire localizations, stereotactic biopsies, ultrasound of the breast, galactograms, etc. Be knowledgeable in BSE (breast self-examination) to teach and explain the importance to patients and answer questions or concerns
- Must be knowledgeable in special views and special procedures such as wire localizations, stereotactic and galactograms. Assist the radiologist in special procedures
- Practice principles of radiation protection. Minimize the radiation exposure to the patient, yourself, co-workers, etc. at all times
- Properly clean detector and compression paddle between patients
- Keep mammography room neat, clean and stocked with pamphlets, deodorant packets, explanation and questionnaire sheets, etc
- Make sure importance of proper compression is explained to the patient in obtaining optimal quality images to detect tiny abnormalities.

- Daily watch for any defects on detector or compression paddles
- Be capable of scheduling mammograms. Know definitions of screening and diagnostic mammograms. - Be responsible for all pertinent information on ordering request and report form: screening or diagnostic, where and when of previous mammograms, diagnosis, technologist signature, number of films, time completed, occurrence of anything out of the ordinary, properly charged on billing slip, etc
- Assist in preparing for mammography accreditation. Assist with MSQA responsibilities
- Operate bone densitometer to perform osteoporosis evaluation
- Perform daily quality control tests on Bone Densitometer unit and document. If unit out of range perform a 2nd test. If values remain out of range do not perform patients. Contact service engineer
- Perform weight and height measurements on patient prior to exam.
- Review patient history and document on history sheet. Determine patient has not taken calcium tablet today.
- Position and instruct patients for various portions of the body to be evaluated by BMD unit for osteoporosis testing
- Analyze BMD study and print reports. Be sure study is archived. QC study in PACS prior to ending exam in Epic
- Properly clean BMD unit between patients
- If patient being held for study document in patient holding log
- Perform daily QC and warm up of CT unit prior to patient care. Initiate the scanning procedure at the proper anatomical level
- Checks prescription/request, provisional diagnosis, hospital chart and patient identification
- Explains the procedure to the patient, means of communication during scan and procedure to follow, if emergency arises during scanning procedure
- Advises the patient of the possibility and/or necessity of an intravenous contrast injection and the precautions or contra indications involved with such an injection. Informs ER doctor of CT injection prior to injection
- Prepares room and equipment according to anatomical area to be scanned, per request and history. Change to appropriate gantry wedges, select kilovoltage and proper detector levels
- Selects correct computer program and initiate scan maintaining visual and/or audible communication with the patient during the scanning procedure
- Operates laser imaging cameras, selecting appropriate picture format and processes these in the C.T. section

DEFINITION OF POSITION:
Provide health care services, applying sonic energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Perform ultrasonic imaging and related procedures in the following areas: OB/GYN, abdomen, pelvis, vascular, small parts, US assisted biopsy procedures. Demonstrates anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Applies appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Performs diagnostic radiography procedures
- Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.
- Prepares patient for procedures; provides instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
- Selects and operates ultrasound equipment, and associated devices to achieve desired results.
- Positions patient and equipment to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
- Immobilizes patients as required for appropriate examination.
- Determines ultrasonic frequencies and appropriate transducers for the anatomic area of interest.
- Evaluates images for technical quality, assuring proper identification is recorded.
- Verifies informed consent for, and assists a licensed practitioner with, interventional procedures.
- Practices aseptic techniques as necessary.
- Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and emotional needs of patients during procedures.
- In agreement with state statute(s) and/or where institutional policy permits: prepares, identifies, and/or administers contrast media and/or medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Initiates basic life support action when necessary.
- Maintains knowledge of and observes Universal precautions.
- Provides patient education.
- Assists in maintaining records, respecting confidentiality and established policy.
- Assumes responsibility for assigned area and report equipment malfunction.
- Provides input for equipment purchase and supply decisions.
- Provides practical instruction for students and/or other health care professionals.
- Participates in the department's quality assessment and improvement plan. May be responsible for specific quality control duties in the assigned area.
- May be responsible for control of inventory and purchase of supplies for the assigned area.
- Understands and applies patient relations skills.
- Pursues the appropriate continuing education needed to maintain license or certification.
- Accomplishes other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited sonography program or equivalent.
- Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, or equivalent approved certification.
- Licensed in the State of Oregon as Ultrasonographer or Radiologic Technologist/Sonographer.
- OB Sonography experience is required.

Critical Requirements / Attributes:

- Bachelor's or advanced degree from a highly-rated institution with evidence of intellectual distinction
- Strategic operator with the ability to develop clear plans across near, medium and long term horizons and then develop a plan to execute on said strategy

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Spearheading various strategic initiatives for Principal - including requirements specification, strategy design, and execution plan
- Assessing overall support needs of the Principal and family and putting in place workflows/processes to streamline and simplify operations
- Handling tasks of a highly confidential nature with the utmost discretion and professionalism
- Researching, organizing and arranging travel for the family, including flights, accommodations, transportation, activities, etc.
- Conducting research and executing on various topics related to lifestyle and philanthropic needs, children's activities, etc
- Overseeing Principal and family calendars, including scheduling appointments, meetings, and events
- Identifying need for various advisors / vendors, researching / screening options, and managing / hosting vendors as necessary
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders, including family members, staff, vendors, and contractors
Logistics:
- Full-time Monday-Friday but flexibility to occasionally work after hours / weekend
- Predominantly remote but with ability to be on-site at family home (Lafayette / Orinda area) when needed

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Tech Support Specialist to provide high-level technical support for commercial HVAC equipment and systems. This role serves as the primary contact for contractor customers needing installation guidance, troubleshooting assistance, and service support.
