CDU was founded to address inadequate medical care in the region and to provide equitable medical education opportunities for underrepresented students.

Under the supervision of the Assistant Vice Provosts of Student Affairs, the Career Advisor helps students reach their educational and career goals by providing career counseling to undergraduate and graduate students. They will coordinate and provide career advising. Career counseling responsibilities are to assist students in developing competencies required to become informed about the choice of a major and career, and to make informed decisions related to their professional goals. Work is performed under general supervision, and performance is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained.


Higher Education Experience is REQUIRED for this role.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides individual and group career advising through one-on-one meetings, group settings, and college outreach in accordance with NACE standards.
  • Demonstrate that students are meeting the requisite competencies that broadly prepare clinicians and undergraduates for work after the attainment of their degree. Competencies are met, such as when a student has the skills to apply, interview, and attain a position.
  • Provides assistance and assessment of student aptitudes, abilities, strengths, interests, and selects appropriate career goals, and implements corrective measures to alleviate any deficiencies.
  • Conducts career advisement workshops, including but not limited to resume writing, networking, interviewing skills, and other career-oriented material.
  • Implement a career and internship fair every fall and spring semester with alumni/ae of Charles R. Drew University and community partners.
  • Provide potential opportunities for students to network and shadow medical professionals, and visit future job sites.
  • Facilitate a pipeline program that helps cultivate and develop students from freshmen to seniors.
  • Recommend, administer, and interpret standardized career assessment inventories.
  • Provides occupational information and maintains the career resource library and online website.
  • Assist and participate in the formulation and implementation of organizational goals and objectives. Participate in regular department and component meetings.
  • Participate and support student life activities, including orientation activities for new and returning students.
  • Maintain effective communication and provide high-quality customer service to potential employers, faculty, staff, students, and community members.
  • Create effective marketing strategies and materials to increase participation in Career Advising services and initiatives.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Office of the Provost.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or above in education, counseling, or general subject area of advising and five yearsโ€™ experience in advising, recruiting, teaching, coaching, and Student Affairs or other related area.
  • Masterโ€™s degree preferred.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two (2) years of post-graduate experience in academic and career advising.
  • Experience working with undergraduate and graduate students in support of their career development.
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in working with a student population that is diverse in terms of race, language of origin, ethnicity, nationality, religion, generation to college, sexual identity, abilities and interests.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in advisement within a higher education setting.

Good Morning, I am currently looking for a psychiatrist MD to work at our QTC Clinic at Anchorage AK QTC Medical Group is a contracted medical group through the Department of Veteran Affairs, to contract physicians to perform one-time compensation & pension and pre-discharge, examinations for our countries veterans and/or service members.

QTC Exams are one time appointments that involve no treatment, follow-up exams and/or writing of prescriptions.

Depending on the specialty exam required these exams can range 30-90 minutes.

QTC is responsible for payment of services; the VA and the claimant are not responsible for payment.

QTC payments are processed on the 1st and 15th of every month.

Please see the attached fee schedule for reimbursement rates for your specialty.

QTC Exams are required to be performed in ADA/OSHA compliant facilities, by providers licensed in the state in which the exam takes place.

Providers who are currently employed with the VA might not be eligible to perform exams for QTC, Please inquire if this applies to you.

QTC has over 85 different DBQ forms, some service members have 1 or 2 DBQ forms, while others could have more (depends on claimants conditions and specialty required).

When scheduling QTC staff will let you know upfront how many conditions the service member/veteran has.

Attached is a sample DBQ form for you to review.

We will also send the service member/ veteran a medical history form for them to fill out and bring to you for the history portion of the exam.

We hope this will assist in the evaluation process.

However, we do require you to review, clarify and complete the form(s) as appropriate.

QTC offers a web based system called KMEP, when viewing DBQ forms on this website you will be asked to enter the claimants information during or after each exam, by clicking boxes and entering text into text boxes.

In addition to the sample DBQ forms is a sample final report/DBQ form that is generated from using the KMEP system.

In order to use KMEP your computer requirements are as follows: Pentium 350 MHz.

or better, Microsoft Windows 98 or above Operating System, 256 MB of Memory (RAM) minimum/ 512 MB recommended, Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 or above, and DSL or any other broadband connection recommended such as T1 or cable modem.

Functional Purpose

Reviews and analyzes Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) complaint files; serves as Contracting Officer's Representative for outsourcing services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assigns cases to and coordinates the activities of independent contractors who provide pre-complaint counseling and/or mediation services. Reviews reports for legal sufficiency and authority settlement agreements reached at the pre-complaint counseling stage and monitors compliance with those agreements.

2. Reviews DRS (Dispute Resolution Specialist) Inquiry Report to determine sufficiency for acceptance and dismissal. Processes formal complaints of employment discrimination and related amendments and consolidations for acceptance and dismissal through application of Equal Employment Opportunity Commission regulations and case law. Responds to appeals of final agency decisions dismissing complaints.

3. Assigns cases to and coordinates the activities of independent contractor EEO investigators. Reviews investigative plans, and draft and completed EEO investigations to ensure compliance wtih national quality standards and regulatory timelines.

4. Coordinates and reviews the work of independent contractors preparing draft final Agency decisions on the merits of EEO complaints. Issues final agency decisions on the merits of EEO complaints on behalf of the Postal Service and responds to appeals of these final agency decisions. Reviews decisions issued by EEOC Administrative Judges on the merits of EEO complaints and issues Notices of Final Action, either implementing or appealing those decisions. Assists in responding to appeals of Notices of Final Action.

5. Develops and provides EEO training to EEO service providers, Area, and District personnel. Assists in the development and delivery of training or skills development sessions for newly selected Investigative Services Office) Analysts.

The DM identifies, with help from the Program Office, the appropriate preparers, receive the data within PDM, reviews the data for compliance, solicits and secures appropriate programmatic approval and delivers the information to the customer on time, throughout the lifecycle of the contract.

In addition, DMs are responsible for reviewing sub-tier contractor requirements, building data tracks for supplier submissions, receiving data from various suppliers, and routing for approval and/or incorporation into prime contractor deliverables to the customer as well as securing non-deliverable program work products to be configuration controlled in the PDM system and other related tasking.

What You Will Do

  • Reading contracts for understanding of the deliverables
  • Working in a PDM system to capture, manage, and track data deliverables and/or receivables
  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams to obtain requested data
  • Proofreading data for compliance to the requirement(s)
  • Managing the data deliverable schedule and providing the data to the customer on-time
  • Learning and understanding contractually required markings applied to data
  • Running forecast reports and providing them to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Providing metrics related to on-time deliveries and outstanding dispositions upon request
  • Reviewing and approving sub-tier supplier statements of work for data requirements
  • Supporting program meetings and providing training to program personnel and customers and/or suppliers
  • Handling and protection of Company Intellectual Property (IP) as well as U.S. government IP and classified information

Qualifications you must have

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience OR a related Associate's degree and 4 years of relevant experience OR in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience related to data management and/or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a customer support/service role
