The Position

MAG is seeking a qualified transportation engineer to support the activities related to the management and implementation of the Safety Policy Program.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Managing scopes, schedules and budgets of transportation planning studies.
• Assessing, analyzing and evaluating crash data, safety countermeasures, transportation infrastructure design, functionality, cost, schedule, and project risk.
• Coordinating with key stakeholders for project design and implementation efforts.
• Managing the procurement, execution and oversight of consultant contracts.
• Facilitating the MAG Transportation Safety Committee and presenting at public meetings.
• Responding to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders on safety initiatives.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be proficient in leading planning level analysis, coordinating with internal and external agency partners, and have experience with managing consultants or consultant teams. The candidate should have relevant experience in transportation safety planning, demonstrating a strong level of understanding and competency regarding urban traffic safety; multidisciplinary road safety initiatives; standards and best practices; and safety-related data. The candidate should also have experience presenting complex technical information to a diverse set of stakeholders, including members of the public and policy makers. Experience with human factors, safety education, and strong writing skills is a plus.

• At least three years of related work experience in engineering, urban traffic safety, and/or planning
• Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities
• Familiarity with standards, practices, and software tools related to transportation safety, such as: MUTCD, Highway Safety Manual, predictive safety methods, and spatial crash analysis using GIS.

Role Description

The Senior / Lead Building Engineer will be the on-site technical lead responsible for all building systems and day-to-day engineering operations at several assets in our management portfolio. This individual will oversee mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), life safety, and building automation systems; manage maintenance staff and vendors; and partner closely with the on-site property management and tenant relations team to deliver a best-in-class tenant experience.

What You’ll Do:

• Contribute to the design and documentation of building structures using steel, concrete, timber, and hybrid systems.
• You'll play a key role in ensuring structural elements meet regulatory standards and are thoroughly analyzed for both new construction and renovation initiatives.
• Work closely with project managers on design intent, deliverables, and timelines.
• Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and other stakeholders to align structural solutions with project goals.
• Participate in quality checks, internal reviews, and technical coordination across project milestones.
• Help assess design challenges and offer technical input to guide project direction efficiently.

Qualifications:

• A background in civil or structural engineering with a bachelor's degree is required, and having a postgraduate degree would be a significant advantage.
• A strong background in structural engineering and building design is expected, with familiarity with a variety of materials and systems.
• EIT with active progress toward PE/SE licensure, or currently licensed as a PE/SE.
• Familiarity with relevant building codes and experience using structural modeling tools.
• Team-first mindset with a track record of positive collaboration and quality execution.
