More Information
Responsibilities
As an Aviation Electronics Technician (AT), you'll maintain, troubleshoot, repair and test complex electronic systems related to aviation on tactical jets, fixed wing aircraft or rotary winged helicopter systems. In this role, you can expect to work with systems including digital computers, fiber optics, infrared detection, radar, laser electronics, navigation, pressure indication, and electrical power generation and distribution. Additional responsibilities may include:
- Installing modifications to aircraft electronic systems
- Performing micro-miniature module repair on computer circuit cards
- Performing electrical diagnostics
- Reading electrical system diagrams
- Repairing and maintaining power generators and electric motors
- Performing scheduled maintenance and corrosion control
Work Environment
Sailors in this career field will perform duties at sea and ashore around the world. ATs can expect to work indoors and outdoors in land-based aircraft squadrons and aboard aircraft carriers. You may work in a shop environment, clean lab, airplane hangar or office environment.
Training & Advancement
Upon completion of initial training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes(known as Boot Camp), you'll report for specialized training, including:
Class "A" Technical School (19 weeks) in Pensacola, FL, for training in basic aviation theory and technical knowledge, aviation electrical systems, and electrical and electronics theory and skills.
After you complete training, you may be assigned to a naval air station, squadron, aircraft carrier or other aviation facility. Promotion opportunities are regularly available but competitive and based on performance.
Advanced Training
Advanced training as an Aviation Electronics Technician may also be available during later stages of your career. For those with further leadership aspirations and a college degree, Officerroles may be available, providing opportunities to lead and train others.
Post-Service Opportunities
Specialized training received and work experience gained in the course of service can lead to valuable credentialing and occupational opportunities in related fields in the civilian world, such as employment with airlines or aircraft manufacturers.
Education Opportunities
Beyond offering access to professional credentials and certifications, Navy technical and operational training as an Aviation Electronics Technician can translate to credit hours toward a bachelor's or associate degree through the American Council on Education.

Qualifications & Requirements
A high-school diploma or equivalent is required to become an Enlisted Sailor and an Aviation Electronics Technician. You must also be a U.S. citizen eligible for security clearance.
AT applicants should have an interest in aviation, working with aircraft, electrical systems and computer systems. You should be competent working with tools, equipment and machines to perform detailed precision work. Strong arithmetic, writing, speaking and academic study skills are also necessary. Important physical attributes include a high level of manual dexterity and physical fitness.

Part-Time Opportunities
Serving part-time as a Navy Reserve Sailor, your duties will be carried out during your scheduled drilling and training periods. During monthly drilling, Aviation Electronics Technicians in the Navy Reserve typically work at a location close to their homes.
For annual training, you may serve anywhere in the world, including locations in the U.S., at bases overseas, or in areas where humanitarian needs are great.

Most of what you do in the Navy Reserve is considered training. The basic Navy Reserve commitment involves training a minimum of one weekend a month (referred to as drilling) and two weeks a year (referred to as Annual Training) - or the equivalent of that.
Aviation Electronics Technicians in the Navy Reserve serve in an Enlisted role. Before receiving the ongoing professional training that comes with the job, initial training requirements must be met.
For current or former military Enlisted service members, prior experience satisfies the initial Recruit Training requirement, so you will not need to go through Boot Camp again.
For those without prior military experience, you will need to meet the initial Recruit Training requirement by attending Boot Camp in Great Lakes, IL. This training course will prepare you for service in the Navy Reserve and count as your first Annual Training.

What You will Do

Position Summary
The Technical Trainer – Field Services (Transformers) is responsible for developing and delivering technical training programs focused on power and distribution transformers for field service technicians and internal teams. This role serves as a subject-matter expert in transformer theory, construction, testing, troubleshooting, and field best practices, ensuring technicians are prepared to safely and effectively support customers in the field.
This position is ideal for a seasoned transformer professional with deep hands-on experience who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and elevating technical capability across a growing field services organization.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Training & Instruction
- Develop and deliver classroom, hands-on, and field-based training for field service technicians covering installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Create, maintain, and continuously improve training materials, including presentations, manuals, procedures, and job aids.
- Lead training sessions for:
- New hire field service technicians

Transformer Expertise & Field Support

- Ensure all training aligns with applicable IEEE, ANSI, IEC, and internal safety standards.
- Reinforce safe work practices and regulatory compliance throughout all training activities.
- Update training content to reflect changes in standards, procedures, products, and field learnings.
Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Transfer
- Capture field feedback, lessons learned, and recurring issues to continuously enhance training programs.
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Field Services leadership to align training with product changes and field performance trends.
- Support technician certification efforts, skills assessments, and competency tracking.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on experience with power and/or distribution transformers in field service, manufacturing, testing, or commissioning environments.
- Strong working knowledge of transformer testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to teach, mentor, and communicate technical concepts to technicians with varying experience levels.
- Willingness to relocate to Roanoke, VA.

The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) is currently seeking a Psychometrician to join our team. In this role, the Psychometrician is responsible for leading the psychometric activities for examinations and facilitating improvements to psychometric methods, processes, and relevant issues in the evaluation of medical knowledge and education.
Reporting to the Manager, Psychometric Operations, the Psychometrician has the following primary responsibilities:
- Facilitate/perform item analysis, IRT calibrations, scoring, equating, standard setting, and validity and reliability studies for several certification examinations.
- Develop, maintain, and/or improve operational psychometric processes
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and exam developers in item development and review processes and exam design, development, and review processes.
- Report examination results and related research to physician and non-physician audiences.
- Provide oversight and support for data analysts in research projects and operational work.
- Handle inquiries (by phone and in writing) related to examination scoring.
- Collaborate on research and development projects within and across departments and communicate results to the board and to the research community.
- Advise on research, measurement, statistical, and systems issues.
- Plan for projects by anticipating work and the required resources, and understand the importance of operational and project planning processes as it relates to the use of company’s fiscal and human resources.
The ideal candidate has a doctorate degree in educational/psychological measurement, statistics, or related field with zero to three years’ experience and has the ability to effectively use statistical analysis programs and IRT software including (but not limited to) SAS, R, In addition, experience in the principles and application of psychometrics including item response theory (i.e., item calibration, item evaluation, linking/equating, and IRT scoring), classical test theory, and standard setting. To thrive in this role at ABIM, one must have excellent communication, organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.
This role is based in our offices at 510 Walnut Street, Philadelphia PA, with the ability to work remotely three days a week. Our technology and facility teams provide and support a seamless hybrid work environment for all employees.

- Persuasive communication and negotiation with opposing counsel
Qualifications
- Must be admitted to and in good standing with the California bar
- 5+ years of civil litigation experience with healthcare experience preferred
