JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a dedicated and talented individual to serve as an Immigration Staff Attorney. MinKwon's Social and Legal Services Program provides direct services to over 2,500 low-income households annually. This position is housed in our Immigration Legal Services program and requires a J.D.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Conduct comprehensive immigration screenings, intakes, and case assessments.
  • Provide information about eligible immigration benefits, assist clients with gathering documents, and complete immigration applications & petitions.
  • Provide direct representation and legal advice to clients in cases including but not limited to naturalizations, green card renewals, adjustment of status, SIJS, VAWA, TPS, U and T visas, cancellation of removal, family based petitions, DACA renewals, and inadmissibility waivers.
  • Process immigration-related correspondence and manage routine client communications.
  • Maintain detailed and up-to-date notes in case management system, and in physical and electronic files.
  • Prepare and conduct community outreach and educational workshops.
  • Work with MinKwon's development staff on immigration grants deliverables and reporting.
  • General administrative and clerical duties.

MinKwon Center's Staff Attorney will provide free legal consultations and direct representation on immigration matters to primarily low-income Asian immigrant communities in New York City.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide legal counsel and direct representation to clients seeking assistance with affirmative applications, naturalization, and removal proceedings;
  • Work with MinKwon organizers to conduct outreach, trainings, and workshops for individuals and community partners on immigration issues;
  • Represent MinKwon during district stakeholder meetings with USCIS and in other immigration-related coalition meetings;
  • Supervise and oversee volunteers and interns;
  • Maintain detailed client records in case management system

Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of the following:

  • Licensed to practice law in the United States (Preferably in NY due to representing children in family court proceedings)
  • Interest and experience in working with the Asian American community
  • Expertise and experience in immigration law
  • English and Chinese and/or Spanish language proficiency is required
  • Ability to manage a diverse and high caseload and deadlines efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well both independently and in teams
  • Strong commitment to public service; non-profit experience preferred

QUALIFICATIONS

The minimum required qualifications for this position include the following:

  • Chinese and/or Spanish fluency is required.
  • J.D. required.
  • Ability to work well independently, in teams, and in collaboration with outside organizations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and with limited English proficient communities.

The ideal candidate will also have the following preferred qualifications:

  • Previous experience with immigration legal or social services.
  • Knowledge, interest, and commitment towards concepts and issues of social, political, and economic justice and positive social change in the U.S., especially in the context of Korean American, APIA, and/or immigrant communities.
  • Ability to be highly organized, meet deadlines, manage a high caseload, and take initiative on projects with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with data entry and management.

The Assistant Director for Training & Education develops and implements educational initiatives that advance gender equity across all genders-including women, men, nonbinary and transgender individuals-LGBTQ+ inclusion, and intersectional justice at UC Berkeley. Educational Program & Curriculum Development

The Professional Session:


The Bilingual Research CHE will develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs for community members, partner agencies, professional community audiences, and other health providers. The community educational programs will focus efforts on Moffitt Cancer Center (MCC) defined target areas and specifically selected community sites in Tampa, FL and the surrounding catchment area. This role provides community outreach and education to improve cancer screening behaviors and cancer outcomes in our catchment area populations. The overall goal is to increase community cancer awareness, community engagement, and participation in cancer research and outreach in our catchment areas. Educational activities planned and developed will be consistent with national imperatives relating to the provision of culturally and linguistically appropriate education.

The portfolio of work will be assigned by the PI or manager of record. All functions are conducted under the direction of the Principal Investigator(s) and Lead Research Community Health Educator.

  • Demonstrated listening and speaking proficiency per language proficiency testing through Moffitt’s approved vendor. This needs to be completed by the end of the employee’s 90-day period.

  • Minimum of Associate's degree in nursing.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
  • CPR & AED certified within six months of employment.
  • Accredited certification in Addictions Nursing (CARN) or Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing (or is actively pursuing credentialing) is preferred.
  • Minimum of one years' nursing experience in Psychiatric or Substance Abuse Treatment preferred.
  • Experience as a CNA, Mental Health Worker, or other related field is desirable for newly graduated nurses.

Co-Occurring Clinician - CBHC


Riverside is seeking a passionate Co-Occurring Clinician to join our Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) team! This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team of dedicated behavioral health professionals in a unique outpatient setting!


In this vital role, the Co-Occurring Clinician will:



  • provide direct clinical assessment and psychotherapy for consumers of the program with co-occurring (substance use and mental health) concerns
  • facilitate an integrated team approach in the consumer’s care plan with inclusion of CBHC services provided by Recovery Coaches, Recovery Support Coordinators, nursing, and psychiatry
  • develop individualized treatment plans for psychotherapy needs as well as a service plan which coordinates and integrates all of the components of the CBHC team members in collaboration with the consumer.

Payrate: Depending on Productivity and Licensure -



  • Unlicensed Clinician - $68,958.50 - $74,263/salaried
  • Independent Licensure - $72,141.20 - $77,445.70/salaried



Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours with hybrid opportunities



  • Tuesday through Saturday schedule
  • $12 weekend shift differential available!

Required Skills



  • Comfort and ability to use principles of harm reduction and self-determination.
  • Will demonstrate competencies in all required evidenced based practices as determined by CBHC

Required Experience



  • Masters Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
  • At least two years experience working with individuals struggling with mental health and/or substance use disorders, including assessment, diagnosis and counseling
  • Must meet all requirements to maintain an active professional license in the individual’s professional discipline, including, but not limited to, continuing education, ethical requirements, etc.
