About the Position – Operations & Systems Manager

Cross Brothers is entering a rapid growth phase as demand for electrical infrastructure equipment accelerates across the United States.

The company is currently expanding production capacity, launching a second shift, and preparing for a facility relocation to support continued growth.

Role Mission

The Operations & Systems Manager will help transform Cross Brothers from a traditional fabrication shop into a scalable, data-driven manufacturing platform.

This role will work directly with the CEO and leadership team to build operational systems, improve shop-floor processes, implement automation and AI tools, and support the company’s next phase of growth.

This is a hands-on role inside the factory environment, working closely with production, finance, engineering, and leadership to improve efficiency, throughput, and operational visibility.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Systems

• Implement and refine work order tracking and production systems
• Develop operational dashboards and KPIs
• Track labor efficiency across cutting, bending, welding, and assembly
• Identify production bottlenecks and process improvement opportunities

Manufacturing Process Improvement

• Improve production scheduling and workflow coordination
• Support second shift production ramp

Position Overview

A metal fabrication and materials supply operation in the Chicago area is seeking a Bilingual (Spanish/English) Fabrication Lead to oversee custom fabrication projects from initial quote through final production and delivery.

This role acts as a central point of coordination between customers, the fabrication shop, and internal operations teams to ensure fabrication jobs are estimated accurately, scheduled effectively, and completed with a high level of quality.

The ideal candidate has experience working in welding, metal fabrication or steel processing environments, can interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints, and is comfortable coordinating multiple projects while maintaining clear communication with customers and shop personnel.

Key Responsibilities

Fabrication Estimating & Quoting

• Review incoming customer inquiries for custom fabrication work.
• Evaluate drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Prepare fabrication quotes based on material, labor, and processing requirements.
• Determine appropriate fabrication methods and production needs for each project.

Project Coordination

• Track fabrication jobs once orders are approved.
• Coordinate workflow between customers, office staff, and fabrication personnel.

Customer Communication

• Serve as the primary contact for customers regarding fabrication projects.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

VMware Infrastructure Deployment & Migration:

Design, implement, and manage VMware vSphere and vCenter environments.

Plan and execute the migration of VMware ESXi workloads to VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).

Use VMware tools and best practices to facilitate seamless migration from ESXi to VCF, ensuring minimal downtime and no data loss.

Configure and optimize VMware ESXi hosts, clusters, and virtual machines on VCF platforms for performance and scalability.

VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Management:

Required Qualifications:

At least 5 years of hands-on experience with VMware vSphere and vCenter in enterprise environments, including experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) for managing cloud infrastructure

Strong experience with Cisco UCS hardware, including servers, fabric interconnects, and UCS Manager.

Experience working with VMware storage technologies (vSAN, iSCSI, NFS, etc.).

Proficiency in configuring, optimizing, and managing VMware clusters, virtual machines, and storage within VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)

Familiarity with server provisioning and resource management in VMware environments.

Strong troubleshooting skills for both VMware and Cisco UCS systems.

Experience with scripting tools like PowerCLI or Python to automate VMware and UCS tasks, including automation for VCF management.

Good knowledge of system monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery processes in virtualized environments, including VCF-based solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification.

Experience with storage systems such as Pure Storage, NetApp, or similar platforms.
