Summary
The Material Logistics Planning Manager oversees the development and execution of strategies that ensure efficient organization of materials, logistics, and supply flow. This role aligns master schedules and production calendars to maintain seamless coordination across operations. - Direct reporting and supervisory relationship with 2-5 regional service managers\directors
- Drive customer satisfaction program and balanced customer scorecard analysis to continuously improve customer satisfaction
- Assess Service leadership training needs based on performance gaps across the organization
- Provide leadership education and mentoring to both field and HQ management with the help of People & Culture (HR) to achieve customer satisfaction and enhance employee performance

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science (minimum)
- 10+ years of progressive managerial experience in CAPEX semiconductor service management, with process experience in back end of line (BEOL) applications
- Successful experience leading global service organizations
- Proven track record of establishing strong, executive level customer relationships
- History of creating:
- Service models for new products including establishing world class I&W cost ratios
- Service customer satisfaction metrics
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Lead large teams and manage projects by leveraging data and analytics to drive measurable business results
- Communicate (verbal and written) with executive customer representatives
- Experience from start-up or growth company environments preferred
- Ability to interact effectively with multiple departments on cross-functional initiatives and priorities

What's the role? We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Models team. In this role, you will manage a team of motivated ICs to build the next generation of Etsy's models platform, which in turn will enable your customer teams to improve the quality of search, ads, recommendations, and other ML applications for nearly 100M buyers and over 5M sellers. This opportunity is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Engineering for ML Enablement. This position will be in Brooklyn, NY or for remote candidates based in the United States.
What's this team like at Etsy? The Machine Learning Enablement Initiative builds and maintains a complete ecosystem of ML systems including our feature & embeddings store, model training, serving, orchestration and testing infrastructure. The Models team is responsible for the model catalog, APIs, and serving infrastructure that runs our online models at high scale (millions of inferences per second). It is a small team historically focused on operations, but transitioning to play a more direct role in the application layer. The team is presently leading Etsy's migration from Tensorflow to Pytorch, building upon an innovative architecture designed in-house and based on KServe, NVIDIA Triton, Apache Arrow, and Ray. We are using this opportunity to fill in historical gaps in automation, integration, and standardization across the ML platform. We aspire to unify modeling approaches across all major ML development teams at Etsy. What does the day-to-day look like? Meet with customers to understand their latest use cases. Work with your team and partners to translate those use cases into concrete requirements. Offer an informed point of view on engineering, system design, and machine learning considerations. Keep track of ongoing issues (stability, performance, cost) with models on the platform, and identify short-term fixes and long-term platform improvements. Maintain a product roadmap, lead agile processes and plan workstreams for a team of 4 ICs. Occasionally lead multi-functional \"tiger teams\" for dedicated projects. Coach your ICs and support their career development trajectories. Own and maintain the team's customer-facing surfaces: documentation, code examples, metrics, dashboards, UIs, launch announcements, etc. We are proud of our engineering culture that encourages career growth and learning in a blameless environment. Qualities that will help you thrive are: A strong track record of developing and serving machine learning models at scale, with at least 4 years in a leadership capacity (tech lead or EM) and 2 years as an engineering manager. You like to be deep in the technical work, but you can also build partnerships across teams in a highly collaborative environment. Passion for building platforms that don't just work, but that are easy to maintain and extend, and are delightful to use. You are a strong collaborator, communicator, and coach and you are passionate about helping the engineers around you grow and learn. You have 5+ years of experience building, iterating and solving complex problems with a significant backend component. Background and hands-on experience with Cloud technologies (Google Cloud, AWS, Kubernetes) is a plus.
