  • Collaborate with senior management to identify and prioritize capital improvement projects. Recommend expense or capital projects which are necessary or will improve productivity, safety, or operational efficiency.
  • Remain current with the latest and emerging industry regulations and codes relative to mechanical and electrical systems design and operation.
  • Prepare and manage the department's budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
  • Perform replacement analysis of equipment considering space costs, depreciation, service life, and maintenance costs; advise production management of information and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Source and evaluate vendors, contractors, and suppliers to obtain quality products and services at competitive prices. Negotiate contracts and agreements with external parties as necessary.
  • Promote a safe and environmentally sound workplace that complies with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Provide management of employees directly or through supervisors to ensure effective selection, retention, development, disciplinary action, and performance management.   • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in R&D within a medical device organization with at least 5 years of CAPA processes and regulatory compliance requirements (FDA, ISO 13485).
  • 2+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams.
  • Proven experience in managing CAPA for design and development activities


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Expert-level understanding of CAPA methodologies, root cause analysis tools (Fishbone, 5 Whys, FMEA), and risk management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with ability to influence and drive accountability.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills for all organizational levels.
  • Experience with drafting statistically sound sampling plans & acceptance criteria for measuring Effectiveness of implemented actions.
  • Proficiency in documentation and electronic CAPA systems, Trackwise preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of medical device regulations and design control requirements.

About the Position: Civil Engineering Technicians perform full time material testing and inspection on heavy commercial construction projects.

Daily tasks can include sampling and testing of fresh concrete, compaction testing of soils and soil aggregates, reinforcing steel inspection for reinforced concrete structures, testing and inspection of spray applied fireproofing, observation and testing for shallow foundations, deep foundations, and ground improvement systems.

Our Civil Engineering Technicians work independently, coordinating inspection activities with project leadership and site personnel.

Proper documentation and acute attention to detail helps keep projects on track, and provide assurance to owners and end users that the project was completed per design and specification requirements.

Technicians must prioritize tasks and communicate observations and/or test results in a professional manner.

Previous experience is desired, but not required.
