- Litigation:Β Draft pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, and briefs. Represent clients in depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials related to employment and PAGA matters.
- PAGA Compliance:Β Prepare and manageΒ LWDA notices, PAGA filings, and statutory requirements, while developing litigation strategies for representative PAGA actions.
- Negotiation:Β Engage in settlement negotiations with defense counsel and opposing parties to secure favorable outcomes for clients.
- Client Communication:Β Act as a secondary point of contact for clients who require attorney communication, while case managers remain the primary client liaison.
- Collaboration:Β Work closely with paralegals, case managers, and support staff to move cases forward efficiently and ensure strong case development.
- Compliance:Β Ensure all case activity complies with court deadlines, ethical standards, and firm procedures.
Qualifications
- Active license to practice law in California, in good standing.
- Minimum ofΒ 1 year of employment litigation experience with direct PAGA experience required.
- Strong understanding ofΒ California Labor Code violations and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) procedures, including LWDA notice requirements.
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases with strong attention to detail.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Annual salary:Β $150,000 - $200,000 + bonuses
