Inside Sales Specialist

The Inside Sales Specialist is responsible for ensuring continuity between the patients, clinics, community, physician practice and the home setting to maximize patient satisfaction of services. Increasing sales, billed revenue, and new patients in accordance with department goals. Optimize patient safety, comfort, and well-being; to improve awareness and confidence among healthcare professionals, physicians and patients regarding current options and capabilities; to coordinate referrals to ensure timely admission and appropriate patient care based on referrals. Additionally, responsible for obtaining, processing, and complete complex orders with accurately and timely to ensure patient needs are met.


Job Duties:

  • Effectively working through a high volume of outbound calls in a fast-paced environment
  • Generates a steady stream of referrals through researching various sales and marketing sources, selling all offered services
  • Develop long term relationships with patients, families, referrals, clinics, etc. through cold calling, problem solving with insurance companies, follow-up, and integrity
  • Partner with Marketing department to develop or enhance educational literature for patients, families, physicians, clinics, etc.
  • Obtains all required information and medical documentation to ensure complete, accurate and timely processing of supply program orders. Validate codes and fees to assure there is coverage under the patient’s policy
  • Obtain Insurance authorizations when required by the Insurance and obtains physician order signatures as needed
  • Discusses coverage guidelines with patients/referral sources and arranges for payment of non-covered items. Suggests alternative equipment as warranted based on reimbursement limitations
  • Contact patients to explain benefits and financial responsibility for services and assist them with questions regarding their insurance coverage
  • Contact referral sources and patients to discuss any problems or delays encountered during insurance verification
  • Assures that diagnoses and disease-state warrant the need for prescribed durable medical equipment (DME) from a reimbursement standpoint. Suggests additional equipment if warranted based on diagnoses or makes appropriate recommendations
  • Understands issues related to the most cost-effective delivery method for DME ordered
  • Maintains working knowledge base regarding billing, documentation, and reimbursement guidelines/ issues, including but not limited to Medicare, Medicaid, Other Third Party, and contracted payers
  • Assist patients and referrals in finding an alternative provider if service is not covered by insurance
  • Prioritize urgent or emergency orders
  • Validate and Log CMNs and PARs as needed
  • Acts as a resource to all external customers to facilitate resolution of AH patient issues in coordination with members of the operational teams within AH to assure optimal patient and referral source outcomes
  • Acts as a resource for referral source staff regarding Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance documentation and reimbursement guidelines related to DME/RT equipment and services
  • Identifies programs or initiatives that potentially could increase company revenues, decrease costs, and/or increase customer satisfaction
  • Knows when to appropriately use best judgment with patients/referral sources during conflicts

Medical Equipment Technician

Medical Equipment Technicians are responsible for ensuring safe delivery, providing setup, and education in usage of home medical equipment for our customers. Setup is done in their home, long-term care setting, clinic or any location deemed necessary to service patients.


Job Duties:

  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of current HME products and services offered by the company and all
  • applicable governmental regulations.
  • Comply with all applicable company policies and procedures.
  • Educate customers in proper use and care of respiratory and HME equipment in a home setting.
  • Complete required documentation following equipment setup, delivery or pickups as required.
  • Assist with customer equipment problems under emergency conditions.

Key responsibilities this position will perform include:

  1. Ensures sales goals and budget objectives are met through fulfillment of customer orders and unsurpassed customer service. Creates and distributes inventory report to ensure customers in DCIDS’s donor service areas have first choice to available grafts. Communicates tissue availability to Distributors and Contract Partners as appropriate.
  2. Determines appropriate “par” levels for tissue inventory to ensure DCIDS can provide appropriate service levels to its customers. Represents Distribution at Production Planning meetings, providing demand requirements based on sales forecasts and processing leads times.
  3. Maintains a month-on-hand report to monitor and address low demand inventory. Acts as part of team to create programs/pricing or identify alternative outlets to ensure tissue is utilized. Communicates these programs to customers as appropriate.
  4. Ensures that Distribution department is compliant with all regulatory requirements related to storing, shipping, returning or transferring human donated tissue. Has clear understanding of the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) regulations for HCT/Ps established in 21 CFR Parts 1270 and 1271. Supports Account Managers and Inside Sales Specialists with directions on handling tissue requirements in the field.
  5. Manages sales agreements with client hospitals, group purchasing organizations (GPOs), distributors and others. Works with Director of Sales to discover requirements to win the contract. Leads negotiation of contract terms. Manages contracts to track renewal dates, alerting management team to any required action. Renegotiates terms as appropriate.
  6. Supports Distributor relationships by monitoring distribution revenue, calculating commissions, and securing authorization for timely payment.
  7. Monitors, reports and presents revenue results and tissue utilization to senior management, medical management and medical directors. Supports Sales team with Quarterly Territory Reviews reports.
  8. Recruits, retains, and develops results driven Distribution team. Advises and counsels, assists, and directs activities to ensure ongoing high performance. Implements timely corrective action when necessary. Identifies training needs to ensure Customer Service Coordinators are proficient in inventory management, regulatory requirements, and interacting with clinical customers.
  9. Recommends capital equipment and expense budgets. Reviews and approves expense reports and takes necessary steps to keep expenses within approved budgets and policies.

  • Associate’s Degree required/Bachelor’s Degree preferred in related field

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
  • Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
  • Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices (deposits, store keys, etc)
  • Ability to perform cash register functions and operate other tools to generate reports. (e.g. HHT, self-checkout, store computer, etc.)
  • Ability to develop and maintain organization and to attend to detail.
