The Value Stream Manager has responsibility and leadership for overall operation of a value stream. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Value Stream in daily operations and continuous improvement activities. Emphasize the creation of continuous product flow, utilize pull systems where flow is not currently possible, and work to level the workload. Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized work/processes are followed, countermeasures implemented and the area drives safety improvements. Create the foundation of a culture that stops to fix problems in order to get quality right the first time. Instill and maintain a positive can-do team atmosphere within the Value Stream.
  • Designs and directs the work of the functional area. Selects, coaches and develops the team, setting objectives that align with company strategy to inspire and motivate the team. Manages organizational talent through performance management, succession planning and development. Designs and directs processes by which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered and performance is systematically improved.
  • Utilize PDCA process in conjunction with the MDI process to deliver metric results in people, safety, quality, delivery & cost. Develop a visual value steam that ensures problems do not remain hidden. Perform Leader Standard Work to deliver consistent execution of processes and procedures.
  • Ensure leaders provide effective training & cross-training for the employees, including backups from other areas, to assure a continuous smooth running Value Stream.
  • Develop and execute short and long range continuous improvement plans to deliver improvements in people, safety, quality, delivery & cost metrics.
  • Other Duties as assigned and the following: Responsible for leading and coordinating the successful launch of New Product Introductions (NPI) within Operations. Participate in the development of standards and programs. Participate in the development and implementation of facility strategic plans and initiatives. Facilitate the flow of information sharing of best practices and external benchmarks.


Minimal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field OR equivalent experience
  • 5 years progressive operations or lean management experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years experience in sheet metal fabrication including cutting, punching, forming, welding, and/or painting.
  • 3 years of demonstrated implementation experience in Lean principles
  • Lean, Operations or Supply Chain Certifications
  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP system
  • Demonstrated experience in flow principles, Kanban, and plan for every part (PFEP)

The Project Engineer designs all aspects of all combustion systems and process equipment meeting safety standards, project deadlines and project cost constraints to meet or exceed their customer’s needs. Qualifications:

• Must have Industrial Equipment Experience (Industrial burners is a plus)

• Must have Project Engineering experience with emphasis on custom designs; this is not a product development position

• Must have strong 3D modeling skills using Solidworks (other similar CAD systems considered)

• Must understand and be able to use effectively Microsoft Office - Excel

• Must have experience with 3D modeling of large assemblies

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for new and existing products, including materials, labor, routings, tooling, and outside services.
  • Maintain quote sheets with current and accurate cost data.
  • Analyze customer specifications to understand manufacturability and cost drivers.
  • Quote outside processes and vendor-supplied components as required.
  • Ensure timely delivery of quotes to internal teams and customers.
  • Update and maintain product cost models on a regular basis.
  • Perform periodic material or alloy cost updates and apply to customer-specific pricing.
  • Review actual production costs versus estimates to improve quoting accuracy.
  • Support Finance and Operations with cost-related analysis and reporting.

  • Provide sales teams with technical input to support quoting, negotiations, and pricing discussions.

  • Collaborate with engineering and operations to ensure routings reflect accurate labor, machine time, and material usage.
  • Support the onboarding of newly awarded jobs into the ERP system with correct cost, routing, and pricing data.


Qualifications

Job Description:

  • Perform installation and checkout on a variety of systems utilizing codes, company procedures, engineering drawings and personal analysis.
  • Works with "Prime" electrical contractors as required.
  • Develops a positive interface with the customer to ensure confidence and satisfaction with the system installation.
  • Provides work direction to other employees involved in electrical installation activities.

How You Will Do It:

• Installs raceways, cables and wiring to meet local or national codes, standards and customer system requirements. Lays out electrical controls installation to provide lowest total installed cost.

• Mounts and terminates controls equipment as needed.

• Mentor and assists others as the local expert regarding electrical installation practices, requirements and cost estimates.

• May assist sales with electrical estimates, including walking retrofit projects.

• Determines and validates final termination points to equipment interfaced with the installed system (i.e. chillers, boilers, roof top units, etc.).

• Checks out wiring and terminations of field-installed equipment with test instruments as needed (i.e. volt meters, hand held testers, etc.).

• Keeps management informed of job needs, progress and issues.

• Provides work direction to other employees involved in electrical installation.

• Completes paperwork, including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation. Provides feedback to JCI Engineering on changes and keeps as-built drawings current.

• Resolves job site conflicts regarding installation issues or escalates concerns to management as required.

• Communicates with the customer as necessary upon arrival and before leaving the work site.

• Adheres to Johnson Controls safety programs and policies.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.


Required:

• Bachelor’s degree and 4 years suggested minimum experience, or a 2-year degree and 8 years suggested minimum experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Electrical apprenticeship or formal training in electrical installation techniques.

• Possess and maintain journeyman's level electrical license. 

• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret drawings. 

• Possesses working knowledge of local codes as it applies to controls. 

• Experienced in scope determination of installation materials. Able to work independently.

• Leadership skills to support and direct the activities of electricians working on multiple projects simultaneously.


Preferred

• Eight years’ experience directly with controls installations.

• Generally required knowledge includes HVAC controls systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
