Position Summary
Sterling is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician with strong machining, fabrication, and design experience to join our team. This role will support engineering and production initiatives by designing, fabricating, and modifying components, fixtures, and tooling in a machine shop environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with extensive hands-on experience in tool and die making, manual machining, and fabrication, capable of working independently while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality.
This role will initially be hired as an Engineering Technician III, with the opportunity for promotion to Engineering Technician IV upon transition to a core employee.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, fabricate, and modify tools, fixtures, and custom components to support engineering and production operations.
- Operate and maintain manual machining equipment, including manual lathes, manual mills, and other machine shop tools.
- Perform tool and die making, precision machining, and fabrication work based on engineering drawings and specifications.
- Utilize 3D modeling software to support design, prototyping, and process improvements.
- Develop and edit CNC programs using MasterCam when required to support machining operations.
- Create and present technical documentation, process updates, and project summaries using PowerPoint and Excel.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design, troubleshoot, and improve mechanical systems, tooling, and fabrication processes.
- Ensure work is performed independently, safely, and in accordance with machine shop best practices and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized machine shop environment and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a machine shop, tool and die, fabrication, or precision machining environment.
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Machining, Tool & Die, or related field.
- Experience supporting engineering prototyping, R&D, or manufacturing process development.
- Experience working in high-precision or prototype fabrication environments.
- Extensive experience operating manual lathes, manual mills, and other machine shop equipment.
- Strong background in tool and die making and custom fabrication.
- Experience using 3D modeling software for mechanical design or component development.
- Proficiency with MasterCam for CNC programming or machining support.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

The role functions as a “CSI-style” investigative resource—identifying what went wrong, why it happened, when it occurred, where the material is, and how to prevent it from happening again. This is a hands-on, analytical role requiring strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in an unstructured environment. .
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies across manufacturing and stockroom environments
- Support discrepancy investigations, including engineering change break-ins and material variances
- Interpret and validate Bills of Material (BOMs)
- Perform physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and special counts (both internal and customer-requested)
- Identify root causes of inventory inaccuracies and clearly document findings and corrective actions
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to prevent recurrence of issues
- Accurately document and communicate findings via email and written reports
Qualifications:

We’re seeking a hands-on Test Technician with a solid technical foundation and strong troubleshooting abilities to support our electronic product testing operations. The ideal candidate will have formal training, certifications, or education in electronics and a working knowledge of Ohm’s Law, schematic reading, and electrical power systems. This role focuses on real-world testing, debugging, and validation.
Job Duties:
- Conduct electrical and electronic tests to verify performance, functionality, and compliance with production quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues at the component, board, and system levels using schematics and test equipment.
- Develop, maintain, and improve test and burn-in processes to ensure reliability and throughput.
- Review and update process specifications and documentation to ensure accuracy and alignment with current practices.
- Monitor yields and identify root causes of test failures, coordinating corrective actions with engineering and quality teams.

- Maintain preventive maintenance and calibration schedules for all test equipment.
- Drive recovery and repair efforts for any downed test or burn-in stations, coordinating across maintenance and engineering teams.
- Assist with new product introduction (NPI) by supporting test development and validation activities.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent military/electronics training required.
- Strong understanding of Ohm’s Law, circuit fundamentals, and electrical schematics.
- Hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting electronic or electrical systems.
- Proficiency with meters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
- Experience with power electronics or high-voltage systems is a plus.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures, interpret technical drawings, and work independently to resolve issues.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

The Construction Scheduler & BIM Modeler is a hybrid role responsible for integrating schedule development with model-based coordination to improve project predictability, sequencing, and execution. This position supports projects from preconstruction through closeout by combining Critical Path scheduling with BIM coordination, clash detection, and 4D planning.
This role works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Preconstruction, and trade partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, fully coordinated, and aligned with company standards for safety, quality, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities
Scheduling (CPM / Project Controls)
- Develop and maintain baseline CPM schedules during preconstruction
- Build detailed construction schedules including phasing and sequencing
- Identify critical path activities and long-lead procurement items
- Lead schedule coordination meetings with internal teams and subcontractors
- Provide bi-weekly or monthly schedule updates
- Develop recovery schedules when delays occur
- Perform time impact analysis when needed
- Create executive-level schedule reporting dashboards
- Support claims documentation related to schedule impacts
BIM Modeling & Coordination
- Develop and maintain 3D BIM models for coordination and planning
- Perform clash detection and facilitate trade coordination meetings
- Integrate schedule into model for 4D sequencing visualization
- Support quantity takeoffs and model-based estimating
- Produce coordination drawings and assist with shop drawing review
- Maintain BIM standards and naming conventions
- Assist field teams with model access and real-time updates
- Support as-built modeling and closeout documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred)
- 3–5 years of commercial construction experience
- Proficiency in:
- Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
- Autodesk Revit
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and field operations
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Experience with healthcare or complex commercial coordination preferred
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
