Anesthesia faculty are part of a team of approximately 20 faculty members working at BCH Oakland.
In addition to pediatric operating room care, the pediatric division in Oakland has essential roles in patient care outside of the operating rooms, with active participation in Ambulatory Care, Acute and Chronic Pain, the Preoperative Clinic, and the BCH Oakland Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center.
UCSF Health encompasses five main campuses the UCSF Helen Diller Medical Center at Parnassus Heights, the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (a Level 1 Trauma Center), Mount Zion Medical Center, Benioff Childrens in Oakland, and Benioff Children's, Betty Irene Moore Women's and Bakar Cancer Hospitals at Mission Bay, as well as a pediatric ambulatory surgery center in Walnut Creek.
BCH Oakland Anesthesia faculty may have the opportunity to work at any of these additional medical centers, if desired.
Successful applicants are board certified/board eligible in pediatric anesthesiology and demonstrate an aptitude for and dedication to medical education and providing evidence based, high quality care in clinical teams that enhance the patient experience with a commitment to patient safety and satisfaction.
Applicants are expected to teach residents and medical students; participate in University service, faculty meetings, monthly Grand Rounds and M&M conferences; contribute to quality assurance programs and continuing education; and advance the mission of the department.
The successful candidate must meet all the following qualifications by time of hire: Must possess a valid California Medical License.
Must hold an MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
Must be Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship trained or have equivalent advanced training and/or experience beyond that of anesthesia residency training.
Must be board certified/board eligible in pediatric anesthesiology.
