Technical Documentation Specialist
Job Description
Pay Rate: $40.40/HR Summary: Location: Mineral, VA Duration: 12 months (Contract Role) Schedule: Monday – Thursday or Tuesday – Friday (4) 10-hour days.
During outages, overtime is required (up to 50 – 60 hours a week) and may include weekends and nights between 0600
- 2400.
Responsibilities: Process high volume of documents (e.g., engineering drawings, designs, transmittals, and procedures) through prepping, scanning, and indexing.
Provide excellent customer service at the Records Counter and via phone.
Aid in the retrieval of records.
Create and maintain revision-controlled drawings and field books for station craft areas.
Resolve document management issues and implement corrective actions.
Research and retrieve legacy documents and drawings.
Distribute priority-controlled procedures and drawings.
Process Vendor technical manuals and approval packages for specific revised procedures.
Maintain and update applicable Nuclear Records Retentions Schedule (NRRS).
Provide support to the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) Code Manager.
Process and maintain applicable electronic media and electronic media database.
Requirements: 0
- 2 years of directly related experience as a records specialist in the nuclear field.
Ability to manage multiple activities, resources, and task priorities.
Ability to exercise discretion and professional judgment within clearly defined established procedures.
Demonstrates self-motivation.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Required Skills: Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.
Good customer service skills.
Strong computer skills.
Preferred Skills: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education.
Preferred: Associate degree or minimum of HS diploma.
