PA / NP / APRN POSITION SUMMARY: The Nurse Practitioner utilizes the medical model to meet a variety of healthcare needs with ambulatory care as their primary focus. The Physician?s Assistant works with a variety of healthcare professionals/security officers in a correctional environment to provide basic medical services supervised by a licensed Physician. The PA has no managerial responsibilities.
PA / NP / APRN ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Will be required to work within a correctional facility.
- Responds to and initiates care for medical emergencies throughout the facility.
- Identifies inmate /patient health problems and prescribes treatment under direction of a physician.
- Implements medical care utilizing therapeutic regimens approved by a Physician.
- Provides education to inmate /patient, healthcare, and correctional staff.
- Documents all healthcare contacts.
- Adheres to safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills. Follows security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications.
- Assigns tasks to team members as needed.

- Graduate of an accredited college/university NP program

Atlantic Health, one of New Jersey's largest non-profit healthcare networks, is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Professional (NP or PA) to support the outpatient Memory and Cognitive Program at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, New Jersey. This opportunity offers a Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends or call responsibilities. We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to collaborate with other Memory and Cognitive Specialists. - Must be a graduate and certified from an accredited advanced practice program
- Two or more years of outpatient clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider, with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously; capable of providing care without physician supervision
- Comfortable treating adult patients, conducting comprehensive or episodic health history and physical assessment of patients/families with acute, chronic and/or potential health problems
- Current, unrestricted license in practicing state or be eligible for licensure
- Active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for registration .
