What You’ll Do

System Safety / Human System Integration (HSI) Department ensures our products Safety and Human Factors disciplines are incorporated into all our engineering and program execution to provide for our customers critical needs.  Location: Tucson, AZ

What You Will Do

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated System Safety Engineer II to join us onsite in Tucson, AZ. 

  • Execute the safety strategy for the program to meet all its milestones with system safety/HSI features integrated into the product in compliance with contract and awarded funding. 
  • Support the program schedule and integrated system safety tasks and activities into program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
  • Engage the Lead System Safety Engineer and Portfolio Engineering Lead for guidance on technical execution, artifact review, attending customer reviews, etc. 
  • Support multi-IPT program meetings to ensure that system safety items are considered and to understand current program-wide issues. 
  • Ensure program leadership understands system safety requirements, hazards, and planned mitigations.
  • Meet internal and external commitments (deliveries). 
  • Own technical solutions and collaborate across IPTs to realize the solution that makes the overall product development and test successful.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with risk assessment concepts, such as those in MIL-STD 882E.
  • Experience writing technical reports and presentations.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. 

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with test equipment & test equipment safety, in a laboratory setting.
  • Experience performing MIL-STD-882 System Safety Program tasks and analyses, involving management (task series 100), analysis (task series 200), evaluation (task series 300), and verification (task series 400).
  • Experience preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program. 
  • Experience reviewing software code and requirements for safety considerations.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple disciplines.
  • Experience interfacing with other engineering functions: Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering. 
  • Experience managing Working Groups.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
