Job Description

  • Perform landscaping and grounds maintenance as prescribed or assigned.
  • Install, repair, and perform periodic maintenance to sprinkler and irrigation

systems.

  • Safely and effectively operate lawn mower, weed trimmer, edger, chainsaw,

power trimmer, and other equipment used in lawn and ground maintenance.

  • Safely and properly apply chemicals including but not limited to fertilizers,

herbicides, and pesticides.

  • Plant grass, trees, flowers, and shrubs using gardening tools.
  • Maintain drive ways, parking lots, and walkways by removing debris, litter,

snow and/or ice.

  • Assist with basic maintenance to equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


SALES

  • Meet with new and existing customers on designated days to sell new work and upsell existing customers. Upsell goal is a min of 25% of main contract with higher hourly rates
  • Meet or exceed revenue goal
  • Meet or exceed enhancement sales quota goal of 250K
  • Responsible to renew each of your assigned clients during the Fall and Winter to a 95% retention rate
  • Manage a book of business ranging from $750k - $1.25M

OPERATIONS

  • Coordinating with operations manager on a daily basis to make sure crews are sticking to schedule and completing work in set man hours determined for each job
  • Daily-maintain and update your schedule for your crews and communicate to them during the pre-day prep at the end of the day.
  • Ensuring quality standards on all properties and exceeding customers’ expectations
  • Be in the yard am/pm helping crews get out of door in a timely manner and to reduce non-billable time
  • Keep shop, yard and maintenance area clean and organized
  • Answering and clarifying scope of jobs with crews for each day.
  • Include proper tools needed, clear understanding of tasks to be accomplished and time allotted to complete the job (man-hours).
  • At the end of each day:
  • Review days’ work and approve all Aspire time. Include ALL materials used and delineate ALL over contract work with description, time used, and materials separate from regular work in β€œjob notes”.
  • Pre-day Prep-Preview tomorrow’s job assignments, tool, equipment and material needs. Crews to empty and load trucks for tomorrow before they leave for the day.
  • Insure all truck DOT logs are being completed daily.
  • Manage upkeep of maintenance tools and equipment and make sure in good, proper working order
  • 1 on 1 with crew leaders weekly to make sure staying on task, timely completion of jobs and informed with any other issues that may arise
  • Job costing of all jobs to make sure production remains profitable
  • Communication devices – manage assigned e-mail, cell phone and landline to ensure customer requests are handled in a professional and timely manner

  • All equipment is kept in clean condition and promote proper use and training for all equipment.

  • Neat, clean and organized. Communicate with Ops Manager materials that need to be restocked
  • Customers
  • Customer Service- Check in with clients while on site to see if any special items need attention while you or the crews are on site.
  • Suggest potential upsells and enhancements to the property and proposals for the client.
  • Keep clients informed of changes in schedule, problems on the site, etc.
  • Estimated/sales of maintenance related jobs with accuracy
  • Send out contract renewals for both maintenance and snow
  • Make routine quality checks to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Weekly or at least Monthly safety meeting using NALP materials
  • Ensure all employees are using and wearing Personal Protective Equipment and all safety switches and safeguards are always operational.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


Assembles tools, equipment, and materials and performs specific work tasks on city-owned grounds.

Supervises a small crew of workers in the maintenance and improvement of City grounds.

Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor.

Has general knowledge of plant and tree varieties and their proper maintenance requirements

Maintains and adjusts specialized turf care equipment and tools including electric motors, pumps, sprinklers, tractors, mowers, and irrigation systems.
Picks up and disposes of litter, paper, and rubbish from parks, playgrounds, public building grounds, streetscapes, highway rite of ways, sidewalks and beautification areas.

Constructs decorative flower garden borders from wood, bricks and concrete using hand tools.

Prunes, fertilizes, and sprays trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawns, using hand tools and power sprayers.

Repairs and paints benches and assists in repair of roads, walks, buildings, and mechanical equipment, using hand tools.

Assist Horticulturist with scheduling tasks, plant selection and installation, fertilizer application,

irrigation repair and installation and light equipment repair and upkeep. Assist Horticulturist as the site manager of the Community Garden. Plants and maintains the "Vandals Plot". Tills garden plots as needed. Maintains Garden Shed and supplies. Maintains Community Garden grounds. Assists with setting up programs and activities for the gardeners. Communicates with gardeners about issues and monitors activities to ensure that guidelines are adhered to.

Operates skid steer, front end loader, backhoe, trencher, dump truck, etc, for grading, landscape

Minimum qualifications & Requirements

Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent with two years of experience in building and grounds maintenance and repair work; or any equivalent of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Must have a valid South Carolina driver's license or the ability to obtain one. Pesticide or Herbicide applicator's license desirable.

We are seeking a highly experienced Project Superintendent to lead large-format, ground-up national retail projects throughout the Western region (including but not limited to UT, NV, CA, AZ).


This role requires proven experience delivering corporate-driven retail builds with hard opening dates, strict brand standards, and high-volume vendor coordination. Experience with Target national big-box retail clients is strongly preferred.


The Superintendent will serve as the on-site leader responsible for schedule management and execution, subcontractor management, inspection coordination, and successful turnover aligned with national client milestones.

Key Responsibilities


Ground-Up Retail Execution

  • Lead full site development from mobilization through turnover on 100,000+ SF retail projects
  • Drive milestone-based schedules aligned with fixed opening dates
  • Maintain and actively manage the master schedule and two-week look-ahead plans, with all scheduling tracked and updated in Procore.
  • Coordinate structural steel, MEP, refrigeration, and long-lead procurement sequencing

Corporate & Vendor Coordination

Job Summary

Distinguishing Characteristics: The Public Works seasonal employees will be responsible for maintaining our landscape infrastructure throughout City owned buildings, medians, and retention ponds. An emphasized focus on supporting the urban tree canopy will be a primary function of this job. This position will also use a variety of manual labor and mechanical techniques to complete tasks during their shift. This is a temporary, seasonal position.

A GMT (Stationary) specializes in completing repairs and utilizes preventive maintenance on motors and controls, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, and machine shop equipment. The ideal candidate is proficient in the use of diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to resolve malfunctions and maintain equipment.

Summary of responsibilities:

  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and repair with precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts and using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

Quad is seeking Part-time, Summer seasonal employees in the facilities department at our Hartford, Wisconsin plant. The starting wage for this position is $16 / hour .

This seasonal position has diverse responsibilities which may include, but are not limited to:

* Grounds keeping
* Painting
* Use of Boom and Scissor lifts to perform cleaning of dust off pipes and other elevated surfaces
* Assisting in Central Store when needed (inventory, locating products, etc.)
* Other duties as assigned
* Schedule: Monday-Thursday; 6:00 am to 4:00 pm

Job Summary

This position performs work under supervision to contribute to the maintenance and operations of City parks, facilities, and public grounds.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for landscaping, turf, and tree maintenance using entry level skills of pruning, transplanting, planting, drainage, fertilizing, mowing, trimming, and edging.
  • Responsible for safety, cleanliness, and orderly appearance of parks, facilities, and public grounds.
  • Responsible for proper use and maintenance of all tools, equipment, and vehicles.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Landscape City properties including planting and transplanting trees, vegetation, and shrubbery. Prunes trees and shrubs.
  • Operate vehicles, equipment, and a variety of hand and small power tools as required to support park operations.
  • Help in the installation and repair of park facilities and amenities using basic skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, cement finishing, and mechanical skills.
  • Perform routine service and maintenance (sharpening, lubricating, cleaning, etc.) on mowers and other equipment.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of irrigation and drainage systems.
  • Assist in installing brick and cement walkways, stairways, and park benches. Assemble and erect equipment such as swing sets, basketball hoops, etc.
  • Clean City facilities and parks including removing garbage and waste from public spaces and cleaning restrooms and other facilities.
  • Perform sports field maintenance of over sanding, fertilizing, grass seeding, dragging and leveling infields, mowing, watering, etc.
  • Perform licensed pesticide applications utilizing Integrated Pest Management best practices.
  • Remove invasive non-native vegetation from natural areas.
  • Accurately record work performed, including materials, hours, and equipment utilized in the City's asset management software.
  • Repair City piers/docks, buildings, and other facilities and equipment.
  • Performs interment duties at City's Cemetery with proper training.
  • Direct the work of seasonal/contingent employees.
Peripheral Duties:
  • Performs functions as assigned in the City's emergency response plan in the event of an emergency.
  • Support Leadperson in training and development of Groundspersons and seasonal/contingent employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to identify and correct safety concerns.
  • Ability to operate equipment associated with park operations and be able to train less-experienced workers in the operation of said equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Operation of basic hand power tools.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Positively interact with the public and park user groups, including working with volunteer groups.
  • Must be able to deliver high quality service/products in a fast-paced, efficient manner.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: 1 year experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or closely related field.
  • Or: In place of the above requirements, the incumbent may possess any combination of relevant education and experience which would demonstrate the individual's knowledge, skill, and ability to proficiently perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above.
Licenses and Other Requirements:
  • Must have a valid Washington State Driver's license and ability to remain insurable under the City's insurance to operate motor vehicles.
  • Skills to use basic mowing equipment.
  • Basic knowledge in landscape maintenance and horticulture.

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

  • Position works outdoors in all conditions, including inclement weather.
  • Must be able to climb in and out of trenches, excavation, and construction equipment, and work at heights and on ladders.
  • This position may be responsible for weekend and/or evening shifts as part of the normal work week and may be required to return to the City during off-hours in case of emergency.
  • Must be able to lift and move bulky items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • This position operates a variety of equipment which are loud and vibrate while in operation.
