What You Will Do:
- Be responsible for quality product standards with no defects.
- Meet customer deadlines and expectations.

- Check parts for cracks, loose connections, faulty bonds, and faulty assembly.
- Record test results in testing log. Route products for rework or salvage of usable parts.
- Route reworked assemblies for testing. Clean completed assemblies. Assemble parts according to blueprint specifications.
- Test parts by connecting to test equipment setting controls, observing readings and actions of instrument checking for malfunctions.
- Set up and use equipment such as: Ragen Assembly, Component Lead Former, Drill Press, Denison Hydraulic Press, Component Lead tinning, and S.M.T. Re-flow.
- May fabricate instrument parts through crimping, staking, and cutting.
- Acquire applicable skill/knowledge/certifications as required.
- Once properly trained and/or certified- perform specific tasks including, but not limited to, welding, soldering, item test and inspection, filler, immersion testing.
- Maintain materials, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Comply with all rules and regulations of Raytheon Technologies, including, but not limited to: Environmental Health and Safety,
- Complete assigned tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills.
- Check work methods and results for conformance to standards and re-instruct as required.
- Report to lead or supervisor on work progress and updates including conditions surrounding failures to meet quality standards.

Qualifications You Must Have:

You will serve as a WELDER LEADER (EXPERT) in the DEPARTMENT OF NAVY to include work sites of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, and Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility.
This position is located in the Structural Shop (Shop 26).

- You will perform reviews of documents associated with completed work and trade processes.
- You will keep shop personnel apprised of new technologies, procedures, and tooling improvements associated, approved, and adopted for welding work.
- You will provide process improvements and work with engineering to reduce cost and improve the overall efficiency of the welding and non-destructive test program.
- You will inspect completed and in process work for quality of workmanship and adherence to requirements, specifications, standards, plans and schedules.
- You will train and mentor less skilled employees, demonstrate proper work methods, and discuss viable alternatives and considerations.
- You will serve as an Expert Welder leading a group to ensure work assignments are completed.

- Fulfills responsibility for dimensional and quality conformance of completed work to applicable specifications and quality standards.

The employee being assigned to this position must have been in the Certified Welder classification at Hilliard for a minimum of 5 years and must be certified in a minimum of 4 processes (Mig, Tig, Stick, Fluxcore or Submerged Arc). Code welders with more than 1 year in the classification but less than 5 years can be moved to Senior Certified Welder at the sole discretion of management.

Our Power & Controls team is looking to hire a Quality Inspection, who will be responsible for ensuring product integrity is maintained to all requirements and performing return to service activities for aircraft components and accessories. The ideal iinspector will have a proactive approach to challenges and participate in continuous improvement events to help improve our quality system and processes.
What You Will Do:
- Generating Authorized Release Certificates (ARC) for multiple regulatory civil aviation authorities or Certificates of Conformance for military customers
- Issuing scrap certificates
- Conducting final inspections on electronic components, subassemblies, and processes
- Ensuring no defects in assembly, soldering, bonding, or finish
- Examining for specified characteristics (smoothness and centering of holes) or defects (scratches and chips)
- Performing unit shakedown to check for foreign objects and loose internal hardware.
- Marking defects and removing rejects, setting them aside for repair
- Reading and interpreting technical data such as service bulletins, component maintenance manuals, or engineering prints.
- Ensuring appropriate record keeping.
- Reviewing work order documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring adherence to specifications and conformance to company standards and customers' requirements.
- Effectively interacting with team members and support staff as well as external customers when applicable (source inspection, external approvals, etc.)
- 1st Shift: Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm
