Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of roadway projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality. To perform professional and technical engineering work in an assigned area such as plan and development review, contract administration and design; and to provide technical staff assistance to higher level engineering staff.

Position Snapshot/A Day in the Life:

This Associate Engineer position will be within the Traffic Division of the Public Works/Engineering Department. With a team of 11 (7 of whom are primarily responsible for signal operations and maintenance), we are responsible for overseeing the City's transportation system, including supporting Capital Improvements Projects, Land Development projects, Street Maintenance, Planning, and others.

Under the direction of a Senior Engineer or City Traffic Engineer, you will primarily be responsible for reviewing private development and capital improvement project related traffic studies, identifying impacts and deficiencies, and determining the most appropriate improvements and design features needed. Other day-to-day duties will also involve reviewing and preparing signing/striping plans and traffic control plans, investigating and responding to concerns from the general public, and participating in long-range planning activities. You may also be asked to help work on special projects and grant pursuits, preparing staff reports, participating in interagency coordination efforts, preparing RFP's/RFQ's, reviewing and processing proposals/contracts/traffic plans, and conducting various meetings.

Distinguishing Characteristics: This is the journey level class within the Engineering series. Employees within this class are distinguished from the Assistant Civil Engineer by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies within the work unit. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and may be filled by advancement from the Assistant level.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in preparing and reviewing transportation analysis for a range of project scales and being able to interpret the practical implications of the analysis results. They would be familiar with VMT, the current industry trends related to its implementation, and be able to assist the team in managing and updating our Traffic Impact Guidelines. They'll have excellent skills in using Excel and be comfortable working within it to create reliable and flexible tools for day-to-day analysis needs. The Traffic division and the City pursue significant grants and special projects that allow us to grow our infrastructure and capabilities, as well as to implement the best practices in the industry, the ideal candidate would be someone who is knowledgeable about the current trends in the Transportation engineering and planning fields and be able to lead grant pursuit efforts and independently manage such projects along with coordination with stakeholders of competing interests.

Experience: One (1) to two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in civil engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least two (2) years of experience preparing and reviewing transportation impact analyses for a range of project scales and being able to interpret the practical implications of the analysis results.
• Familiarity with VMT, the current industry trends related to its implementation, and have experience managing and/or updating Traffic Impact Guidelines.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including building tools for transportation data analysis.
• Experience managing transportation projects and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders with competing interests.
• Experience presenting at public meetings and responding to questions/feedback from elected or appointed officials.
• Traffic Engineering license.

Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or a closely related field. Some additional years of experience and specialized training may substitute for some of the educational requirements.

License or Certificate: Possession of, and continuously throughout employment, a valid CA Class "C" Driver's License.

I'm currently partnering with a fast‐growing Chicago law firm that's expanding its Traffic & Criminal Defense practice looking add an attorney with 2+ years of Traffic Law experience—someone comfortable handling a high‐volume caseload that includes DUIs, misdemeanors, traffic offenses, and some felony work.

This is a court‐heavy role based in Cook County, so daily courtroom advocacy is a big part of the position.

Location: Cook County jurisdiction - Must be willing to do a daily commute to Cook County courthouse

Practice Area Focus: Criminal Defense, specifically Traffic Law

Requirements:

• 2+ years' experience as an Attorney with a focus on Traffic Law cases (misdemeanors, felonies, DUIs, traffic tickets, etc.)
• Open to candidates coming from law firm (doing Criminal Defense and Traffic Law) or government space doing Traffic Law/misdemeanors (e.g. State's Attorneys office, Public Defender)

• Install and Maintain Traffic Signals: Install signal wire, steel, and hang signal heads, internally illuminated street name signs, and static signs. Wire traffic signals when power is on and/or off. Assist with installation of traffic signal cabinets and ITS devices, such as cameras and travel time monitoring units. Prepare cabinet installation by digging hole, setting form, installing conduit, and pouring concrete for cabinet base. Install and wire power meter and disconnect. Lay out, cut, and wire detector loops. Install and maintain video detection equipment. Install pedestrian poles, buttons, and signals. • Install and Maintain Traffic Signs: Install new signs and posts, as well as, remove old posts. Clean sign faces and surrounding right-of-way. Perform preventative maintenance. Distribute and pick up barricades, cones, and message boards for special events.

• Install Markings: Layout and paint markings for parking lots, intersections, and roadways. Install hot and cold plastic markings. Refresh, remove, or grind old markings. Utilize hot plastic, paint, and grinding machines in performance of duties.

• Perform Maintenance and Inventory: Clean and stock trucks and warehouse. Repair, clean, and maintain all tools and equipment. Complete inventory on materials and supplies notifying Traffic Control Supervisor of items in need of ordering. Use forklift to off-load deliveries as needed.

The Traffic Coordinator reports to the Chief Brand & Marketing Officer of Hale Tori and serves the needs of the Marketing Leads for each brand within the group. This role is responsible for intake, scheduling, routing, workload balancing, vendor coordination, production logistics, and administrative oversight across creative and marketing initiatives.

Core Responsibilities

Creative Intake & Prioritization

·Own the centralized intake process for all creative requests across Tori Richard, Kahala, and Birdwell.

·Ensure briefs are complete, objectives are clear, and deliverables/specs are defined before work begins.

·Prioritize and reprioritize projects based on business impact, deadlines, and team capacity.

·Clearly communicate tradeoffs and timeline shifts to stakeholders.

Traffic Management & Resource Allocation

·Build and maintain project timelines, milestones, and approval paths.

·Assign work based on capacity, skillset, and deadlines.

·Lead recurring traffic meetings and maintain visibility into status, bottlenecks, and upcoming deadlines.

·Balance workloads to protect quality and prevent burnout.

Deliverable Quality & Routing

·Manage version control, routing, and stakeholder approvals.

·Ensure files meet channel specifications (digital, email, paid media, retail signage, print, etc.).

·Oversee quality assurance before final release or vendor handoff.

Production & Photoshoot Coordination

·Support end-to-end production logistics including shot lists, timelines, call sheets, vendor coordination, and asset delivery.

·Coordinate location permissions and permitting when required.

·Ensure post-production assets are properly archived and distributed.

Vendor Sourcing & Administrative Oversight

·Source and coordinate external vendors (photographers, stylists, retouchers, printers, freelancers).

·Obtain quotes, track budgets vs. estimates, and coordinate invoicing in partnership with Finance.

·Maintain a vetted vendor roster and performance history.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Required Qualifications

Experience

·2-4+ years in creative traffic coordination, project coordination, creative operations, or agency/in-house project management.

·Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Ecommerce, Planning, and Merchandising teams.

·Experience coordinating vendors and managing creative production workflows.

Technical Skills

·Strong proficiency in project management software (Trello preferred).
