Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced EDS Component Design Engineer to lead the design and development of electrical distribution system (EDS) components for next-generation electric pickup trucks and rugged SUVs. The role will involve full lifecycle responsibility from concept design through validation, testing, and manufacturing launch.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in wire harness components and power distribution systems, working closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, purchasing, finance, and suppliers to deliver high-quality automotive components.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop EDS components including shields, troughs, grommets, connectors, terminals, and power distribution components.
• Support development from concept (clean sheet design) through virtual validation, testing, sign-off, and manufacturing launch.
• Collaborate with purchasing and finance teams to create technical specifications for sourcing and supplier quoting.
• Develop and maintain a standard library of core EDS components aligned with global automotive standards.
• Work closely with VW Group module owners and suppliers to define and release wiring and power distribution components.
• Perform virtual and physical verification testing, including field testing.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and U.S. regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to production facility design for electric trucks and SUVs.
• Manage supplier deliverables to meet cost, quality, and program timing targets.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance and consumer experience.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in automotive wire harness or power distribution component design.
• Strong expertise in EDS component design and release processes.
• Experience working across complete product development lifecycle (design, testing, launch).

Summary

Verigent is looking for an Electrical Construction Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical systems on a high-tech construction project. This role is critical to ensuring the successful delivery of high-performance, mission-critical infrastructure that meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This individual will be an integral member of the on-site Electrical Team, managing all aspects of electrical construction from pre-construction through commissioning. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage subcontractors and vendors, and help deliver mission-critical infrastructure on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. This position will be fully at the project site near Boise, Idaho.

Essential Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor on-site electrical teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Serve as the electrical systems technical advisor at onsite field construction office.
• Provide electrical systems technical support in the field, including layout, verification, and sequencing of installations.
• Lead planning, scheduling, and monitoring electrical construction activities.
• Lead or support meetings involving area managers, design team members, multiple subcontractors, and client representatives.
• Facilitate daily coordination meetings and resolve field issues promptly.
• Attend and contribute to pre-installation meetings; assist in documentation of as-built conditions.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Electrical Construction Management experience in commercial building construction required, with at least 3 years in hyperscale or mission-critical data center environments.
• Proven experience managing large-scale electrical installations, preferably in hyper-scaled data centers.
• Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure and systems including high voltage, medium voltage, and low voltage distribution, UPS, generators, grounding and BMS integration.
• Knowledge of Uptime Institute or other data center standards.
• Deep understanding of construction means and methods, trade sequencing, and commissioning processes and integrated systems testing.
• OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor of science in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, structural engineering, construction management or equivalent degree and/or equivalent craft level work experience.
• PMP or similar project management certification preferred.

The Effector Analog and Power Department is responsible for the development, from concept to integration, of Telemetry and Flight Termination products; power systems from all up round to the lowest level power regulation; servo electronics supporting all mechanical motion in our products and low noise mixed signal electronics that provides the analog to digital interface to our front-end sensors. Each of these products generally operate in lower power and voltage ranges less than 10kW and 1000V.

What You Will Do

• Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion (and related analog) circuitry. This circuitry will dominantly involve non-isolated and isolated switch mode power converters and linear converters. Main emphasis is on board-mounted power end use applications.
• Architect at the power system level.
• See circuit card and stack development through its design phases, from requirements definition through initial integration testing. Includes leading large teams and defining schedules and system level tasking for designs.
• Guide ECAD drafters and junior engineers through layout and routing activities. Define layer stackup definitions. Act as an expert regarding creepage and clearance.
• Lead large teams to success with schedule, budget, and technical execution.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 10 years of prior relevant experience
• Design, analysis, test, and/or simulation experience with linear converters, and familiarity with all the following non-isolated converter topologies: buck, boost, buck-boost.
• Professional design, analysis, and simulation experience with at least one of the following isolated converter topologies: flyback, half-bridge, full-bridge, forward, push-pull, resonant.
• Experience with EMI Filter design, transformer or inductor design, analysis, test, and/or simulation considerations in power electronics circuits.
• Analog electronics design, including the following: FETs/BJTs, op-amp, high/low/band pass filters, clock/data termination, and comparator circuits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in designing various electrical project designs including creating electrical schematics, grid plan layouts, electrical power systems, lighting systems, protection and controls, and site and facility design.
• Follow all company, client and project design and drafting standards.
• Assist with set up of electrical CAD configuration and procedures according to project requirements at the beginning of a project for the electrical design team.
• Assist in preparing engineering drawings from rough sketches or from general engineering and design information (verbal instructions and notes) using CAD software programs
• Assist with a full range of drawing production work including problem analysis, design layout and calculations on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity.
• Assist with a variety of assignments using prescribed methods and standard techniques including drawing sequence and presentation, sizing various system components and refining rough sketches.
• Assist with initial rough designs or sketches and redlines or mark-ups on ongoing projects.
• Assist with analysing reports, drawings, and tests, to plan and design projects.
• Apply design codes and specifications related to design requirements.
• Complete and review design drawings within scope, budget and schedule.
• Perform project tasks and assignments within budgeted hours and deadlines.
• Incorporate schedules, budgets and project criteria into electrical design and layouts.
• Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information in a logical and well-structured manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all policies and standards.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Key skills: AutoCAD, Electrical Design e.g. Transmission or Distribution or Substation or Pole Design or Protection & Control Design.
• Bachelor Degree in drafting technology or related field and min 2 years related experience Required or Associate Degree and min 3 years related experience Required or High School and min 4 years progressive detailing and design experience is Required.
• Strong understanding of design software such as: AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel to develop the design deliverables.
• Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs.
• Ability to utilize both 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings.
• Basic knowledge in design, calculations and design systems.
• Basic knowledge in the theory and practices of engineering discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline; and capable of operating related discipline design software necessary to execute production tasks.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others (Project Managers, Engineers and Designers) in a multi-discipline project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills, and attention to detail.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineering Intern to join our team at our manufacturing facility in Dubuque, IA. In this role, you will support electrical engineering staff in the design, testing, analysis, and improvement of electrical systems, components, and products. This internship provides hands-on experience with real-world electrical engineering applications and the opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a professional environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist electrical engineers with the design, development, and testing of circuits, control systems, and electronic components.
• Perform data collection, signal analysis, and documentation to support ongoing electrical engineering projects.
• Create, update, and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, PCB layouts, and technical reports.
• Conduct research on electrical components, emerging technologies, and engineering methods as assigned.
• Support troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and quality checks on electrical systems or prototypes.
• Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and technical presentations.
• Follow company safety procedures, electrical standards (e.g., NEC, IEC), and engineering best practices.

Education and/or Experience

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.

• Familiarity with electrical engineering tools, laboratory equipment, and simulation software.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with tools such as MATLAB, LTspice, PSpice, Simulink, LabVIEW, Python, or CAD for electrical design (e.g., Altium, KiCad, AutoCAD Electrical).
• Hands-on project, lab, or internship experience in circuits, electronics, power systems, or embedded systems.
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards, PCB design principles, or relevant technical concepts (e.g., signal processing, control systems, microcontrollers)
