Position Purpose: Our Cake Decorator will execute day-to-day operations in our Bakery department and provide a memorable experience to all our customers. A Cake Decorator has a keen eye for Food Safety and Sanitation and will be able to help in production and merchandising while offering unmatched customer service.
Responsibilities
A Cake Decorator is a responsible, friendly Team Member who can safely work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.
Cake Decorator's responsibilities include:
- Icing sheet cakes and decorating with spatulas, icing bags and icing tips per customer order or at decorators' discretion.
- Providing memorable customer service during daily customer interactions
- Preparation of food, including baking bread, decorating cookies, creating fresh offerings
- Sharing food knowledge with customers
- Cleaning, Food Safety, Safety, and Sanitation
- Day to day production, merchandising, and quality control of all department offerings
- Stocking, rotating, and merchandising department products
- All other related duties as assigned

Position Overview
Are you a creative problemβsolver who brings visual storytelling to life and elevates the customer experience through thoughtful merchandising? As a Visual Merchandising Specialist, you will shape how our customers experience our stores by implementing visual strategies, delivering cohesive merchandising direction, and ensuring brand consistency across all locations in your assigned area.
In this role, youβll partner closely with District Merchandising teams, Category Management, Marketing, and Field Leadership to translate merchandising concepts into clear, actionable standards that drive sales, increase basket size, and enhance store presentation. Your work will directly impact how products are showcased, how customers shop, and how our brand comes to life in every department.

What Youβll Do
Strategic Visual Merchandising Execution
- Develop and implement strategic visual merchandising plans for major merchandising initiatives, including new stores and remodels.
- Provide guidance to Assistant Store Team Leaders and store teams to ensure successful execution of all visual plans.
- Support planning, coordination, and production of visual elements that enhance inβstore storytelling and overall presentation.
Visual Standards & Store Execution
- Drive store sales through consistent execution of visual merchandising directives across all departments.
- Support in creating and maintaining companyβwide merchandising standards, including the development and oversight of written execution directives.
CrossβFunctional Partnership & Store Support
- Collaborate with Category Management, Marketing, District Merchandising, and Field Leadership to ensure inβstore visuals match assortment strategies and reflect brand standards.
- Conduct regular store visits to assess visual execution, ensure adherence to standards, and optimize floor space utilization.
- Build consistency across stores through strong communication, training, and accountability to current visual merchandising tools and guidelines.
Performance Improvement & Merchandising Insights
- Analyze key merchandising reports and customer feedback to identify opportunities that improve sales, effectiveness, and the customer experience.
- Lead and evaluate market testing efforts (Test & Learn programs) to provide insights that inform new product or brand decisions.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Minimum of 3+ years of merchandising or retail management experience, including visual merchandising, space optimization, or store planning.
Knowledge & Expertise
- Strong understanding of visual design and interior space planning principles.
- Knowledge of typography, color theory, and composition.
- Foundational understanding of retail operations, marketing concepts, and consumer behavior.
- Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Photoshop experience preferred

Work Environment
This role operates primarily in a in-person business office setting, with regular visits to retail grocery stores.
