Estates & Trust Paralegal
Job Summary:
The Paralegal will work with attorney(s) in preparing estate planning documents, such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney and health care directives, and documents needed to fund trusts such as deeds and assignments. Works with clients to understand their intentions as to their assets, coordinates beneficiary designations and works with financial institutions to update beneficiaries and reflect title to accounts to meet the client's intentions.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
· Meets with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.
· Drafts legal documents including wills, trusts of various types, powers of attorney and health care directives
· Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves information gathered to coordinate assets.
· Familiar with legal document management systems.
· Assists attorneys with client meetings.
· Develops and maintains records regarding billable hours.
· Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, experience, and physical requirements:

· Some related experience is preferred. Experience working with Medicaid trusts or Medicaid compliance matters is a plus.
· ABA approved Paralegal program preferred.
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Lifting of up to fifteen pounds at times.
Salary Range: $45,500 - $60,000, depending on qualifications

- Familiarity with corporate filings, entity maintenance, and basic business compliance documents
