Primary Purpose of Role:
Providing construction management oversight for a project. Must be able to work with little or no supervision while managing multiple projects & teams. Position requires the ability to manage high volume, quick turn, food service, retail, and ground up projects with major retail clients. Must be able to manage multi-million-dollar project budget & track all costs associated. Coordinates & plans projects from start to finish with a variety of tasks incorporated from a design to a finished product. Essential Responsibilities:

- Mitigate Risk while allocating resources

- Schedule, design intent, material selections, changes, etc.
- Review project daily in conjunction with Field Manager to ensure schedule, codes, deliveries, etc. are occurring to control the schedule & maintain budget.
- Review drawings & specifications for code accuracy, potential errors &/or omissions, missing scope, etc.
- Prepare & review all associated financial reporting tools associated with the project to keep under budget & provide alerts if misses/concerns are noted.
- Understand our Client’s organization, equipment, store layouts, & operational goals all while managing their expectations
- Understands budgeting & knows pricing for commercial construction.
- Adapt to project challenges well

- Regularly conduct jobsite safety checklist & take ownership of best safety practices for avoiding, mitigating, or reacting to findings & observations.

Role Summary
The Project Engineer (PE) supports the day-to-day execution of mission-critical data center construction by driving documentation, coordination, procurement tracking, and field communication. This role is central to keeping the project moving: managing submittals and RFIs, supporting schedule and cost controls, coordinating owner-furnished equipment (OFCI), and helping push quality, commissioning readiness, and turnover.
The PE works closely with the Project Manager, Superintendent(s), subcontractors, vendors, design partners, commissioning agents, and the client team to ensure work is coordinated, decisions are documented, and the field has what it needs to build safely and correctly.

Key Responsibilities
Submittals, RFIs, and Document Control (Primary)
- Lead the submittal and RFI process end-to-end: logging, tracking, routing, follow-up, and closure.

- Maintain clean, current project records: meeting minutes, logs, sketches, bulletins, and correspondence.
- Support drawing management: distribute current plans, manage revisions, and help prevent “building off old sheets.”

- Track procurement status for long-lead equipment (electrical/mechanical/controls) and communicate risks early.

- Support change management: pricing requests, documentation, scope narratives, and backup for change events.
- Assist PM with pay application tracking, vendor invoices, and reconciliation support as needed.
- Help maintain clean cost backup and scope clarity to support decision-making.
Commissioning Readiness & Turnover (Primary/Supporting)
- Support commissioning readiness by tracking prerequisites, documentation, and installation closeout.
- Coordinate with PM/field/cx team on turnover requirements (O&M manuals, as-builts, training, test results, spare parts, warranties).
- Help build and audit turnover packages for completeness and accuracy to support transition to Operations.
Safety & Site Standards (Supporting)
- Support the project safety program by reinforcing expectations, reporting hazards, and promoting safe planning and execution.
- Collaborate with site EH&S as needed to sustain jobsite health, safety, and security controls.

Qualifications
5 years minimum experience in the Construction Industry.
IL Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
Strong expertise in Project Management, including bidding, planning, execution, and monitoring project timelines and deliverables.
Possess an ACI Grade 1 Field Technician certification or the ability to obtain quickly.
Experience with Expediting and Logistics Management to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials and resources.

Relevant capabilities in Inspection processes to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

- Manage infrastructure projects from pre-construction through closeout
- Coordinate with field supervisors/foreman, crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project milestones are achieved
- Attend pre-construction meetings and ongoing project coordination meetings
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource planning
- Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracted services
- Monitor project costs and progress to maintain schedule and profitability
- Prepare and manage change orders, project documentation, and billing
- Maintain clear communication with clients, inspectors, and internal teams
- Support estimating and bidding efforts for upcoming projects when needed
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- At least 2 years of project management experience in construction, electrical contracting, or related fields
- Direct experience with NYS DOT projects is highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Relevant industry experience with traffic signal installation, highway lighting, and/or underground utilities will also be considered in lieu of a degree
- Strong project planning and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with project management software and standard office tools
- Experience with public infrastructure or transportation projects preferred
Salary Range
- $80k-$90k + 100% paid medical coverage for individuals and families

Overview
The Construction Manager is responsible for working with the Construction Management team to provide overall management direction in reporting capital and value-add projects throughout the company portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Specification of project objectives and plans including delineation of scope, budgeting, scheduling, setting performance requirements, and selecting project participants.
- Development of effective communications and mechanisms for resolving conflicts among the various participants.
- Project time management to provide an effective project schedule.
- Project cost management to identify needed resources and maintain budget control.
- Project quality management to ensure functional requirements are met.
- Project communications management to ensure effective internal and external communications.
- Project risk management to analyze and mitigate potential risks.
- Project procurement management to obtain necessary resources from external sources.
- Bid comparisons and review.
- Work directly with compliance on budget/expense tracking.
- Provide updates to Investment Management team and partners as required.
- Maintain client/vendor relationships.
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in Construction Management.
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Gantt Chart Scheduling experience preferred.
- Microsoft Project Experience preferred, along with typical Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to read/interpret basic blueprints required.
- Must be able to handle a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Financial management skills.
- Excellent business management and developmental skills.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills. Ability to understand and carry out industry specific written and oral direction. Positive, innovative approach to problem solving.
