Position description
The University of California, Berkeley, is seeking a Project Processing Archivist for a two-year project, with the possibility of renewal for a third year based on performance and availability of funding, to support the processing of literary collections. Among the collections to be processed are those from a Mellon Foundation-funded project to process and promote archival collections relating to women and poetry at The Bancroft Library. These include the papers of poets Mary Fabili, Aya Tarlow, and Red Jordan Arobateau as well as the records of presses and literary magazines, such as Poetry Flash and the City Lights Books records. The project archivist will also process the analog and born-digital papers of author Amy Tan. The successful candidate employs archival standards, tools, and best practices to provide access to collections containing materials in a range of formats, including audiovisual and digital. The successful candidate also applies effective project management strategies and communicates clearly with project stakeholders.

Responsibilities
The Project Processing Archivist will work under the direction of the Head of Archival Processing and in consultation with other technical services staff, curators, public services staff and, potentially, donors and researchers. Duties will include processing approximately 450 linear feet of literary archival collections and related born-digital materials. The Project Processing Archivist will also participate in outreach activities relating to the project as well as regular departmental activities. Responsibilities include:
- Archival processing of analog, born-digital, and hybrid archival collections
- Applying tools used in the special collections and archival communities (e.g., ArchivesSpace, OCLC, Alma, TreeSize, and ePADD)
- Contributing to project management, which might include helping to manage project documentation, supporting meetings, and contributing to problem-solving and analysis.
- Overseeing the work of student library employees as needed
- Consulting and collaborating, as needed, with staff in other Bancroft and UC Berkeley Library units to ensure appropriate processing of varying formats
- Assisting in planning a public research symposium related to the processed collections supported by the Mellon Foundation grant.
- Preparing social media and blog posts and a research guide related to the processed collections.
- Serving a regular weekly two-hour shift on a public services desk

This role is responsible for the operation and maintenance of a medium voltage (480V โ 13,200V) electrical distribution system within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is a licensed journeyman electrician with strong industrial/commercial experience and a commitment to safety, reliability, and excellence.
Role Summary
The Journeyman Medium Voltage Electrician must be a skilled craftsman in their trade and possess:
- A minimum two (2) year technical degree or trade school equivalency

The Principal Mechanical Design Engineer (Data Center Infrastructure) is a technical leader responsible for the architecture, integration, and validation of advanced mechanical systems supporting hyperscale data center environments. This role is responsible for defining system performance requirements, developing technical specifications, selection and integration of critical components, and leading mechanical design from concept through production release. Responsibilities include wetted material selection, thermal and structural analysis, fastening strategies, component layout, and design for manufacturability. Partners cross-functionally to deliver reliable, scalable, and cost-effective Data Center Infrastructure solutions while advancing innovation in liquid cooling performance.
Lead the end-to-end mechanical design and engineering of hyperscale Data Center Infrastructure (DCI) systems, including liquid-cooled rack assemblies, CDUs, manifolds, enclosures, structural frames, and associated hydronic piping systems.
Serve as the technical authority for single-phase and two-phase liquid cooling architectures, including primary and secondary loop design, in-rack distribution, and system integration within hyperscale data center environments.
Define and validate operational performance requirements for liquid-cooled infrastructure, including pressure ratings, hydrostatic limits, temperature ranges, flow rates and uniformity, thermal expansion, durability, and serviceability.
Design, analyze, and validate machined components, welded fabrications, manifolds, and structural systems using advanced engineering principles, including stress analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), flow modeling, and structural load calculations to ensure mechanical integrity and code compliance.
Lead wetted material selection and compatibility analysis for liquid cooling systems, including corrosion mitigation strategies, surface treatments, cleanliness standards, and long-term durability considerations.
Develop and review CAD models and complete technical data packages using CREO, SolidWorks, or equivalent tools; Author and approve technical specifications for piping systems, rack-level cooling infrastructure, and hydronic components, including installation guidelines, maintenance procedures, testing requirements, and compliance with applicable standards (ASME, ISO).
Establish and oversee validation protocols including hydrostatic pressure testing, leak detection and mitigation, flow resistance analysis, and corrosion verification to ensure regulatory compliance and operational reliability.
Evaluate customer design proposals and technical specifications to assess feasibility, manufacturability, cost, and risk; provide recommendations to optimize performance and total cost of ownership.

The selected candidate will participate in the development of a privately commissionedย 11.9-acre estate in Central Florida, guided by a defined architectural vision:
Old Dominion Spanish Villa with a Mid-Century reinterpretation.
You will work directly with the Owner/Developer under the mentorship of aย University of Miami alumna with significant architectural and construction experience.

The role of the Office Specialist is to perform a broad range of skilled administrative tasks that support the effective office operations of the department with an emphasis on quality customer service.
