The Opportunity

We are looking for a hands-on Purchasing Manager to take full ownership of procurement across both TCI Precision Metals and E-Z LOK. This is an individual contributor role reporting directly to the Owner/President. You will split your time between both facilities—primarily based at TCI in Gardena with approximately one day per week at the E-Z LOK facility in Los Alamitos. You will be responsible for strategic sourcing, day-to-day purchasing, inventory optimization, supplier management, and cost reduction for both operations. The right person combines sharp negotiation skills with deep knowledge of metals and manufactured components supply chains, and is comfortable working across two distinct product lines and ERP environments. This is a high-impact role with real visibility—your decisions will directly affect margins, on-time delivery, and operational efficiency across the entire organization.


Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Sourcing

•       Build and maintain strong relationships with mills, metal distributors, and component suppliers across both TCI and E-Z LOK product lines

•       Monitor supplier performance for quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness

•       Research, identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors for raw materials, threaded insert components, packaging, and other supplies

•       Negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, freight terms, and consignment or exclusivity arrangements

•       Develop backup sourcing and disaster recovery strategies to ensure supply continuity for both divisions


Day-to-Day Purchasing

•       Oversee daily purchasing of raw materials, MRO items, packaging, and other supplies for both TCI and E-Z LOK

•       Review and approve purchase orders within established dollar limits

•       Manage freight purchasing and freight claims

•       Ensure accurate order quantities, pricing, due dates, and vendor confirmations

•       Expedite late orders and manage material shortages across both facilities

•       Resolve PO discrepancies, invoice mismatches, and receiving issues


Inventory Management

•       Help set and maintain min/max levels, reorder points, safety stock, and order policies for both divisions

•       Balance inventory availability against excess and obsolete stock

•       Coordinate buys based on demand forecasts, customer orders, production schedules, and seasonality

•       Support cycle count and inventory accuracy efforts where purchasing impacts inventory health


Production & Cross-Functional Support

•       Work closely with production, planning, warehouse, sales, and customer service teams at both TCI and E-Z LOK

•       Ensure material availability to support manufacturing schedules without interruption at either facility

•       Prioritize purchases for urgent jobs, stockouts, and customer commitments

•       Communicate supply risks, delays, and allocation issues early and proactively


Quality & Compliance Support

•       Coordinate with quality on supplier corrective actions and vendor quality issues

•       Ensure purchased materials meet specifications, certifications, and regulatory requirements (including AS9100 for TCI’s aerospace work)

•       Maintain vendor documentation including W-9s, insurance certificates, conflict minerals declarations, country-of-origin documentation, and RoHS/REACH compliance records as applicable


Cost Control & Savings

•       Drive cost reduction initiatives through negotiation, alternate sourcing, consolidation, and value analysis across both divisions

•       Track purchase price variance (PPV) and document savings

•       Review and respond to vendor price increases and market changes

Data, Systems & Reporting

A Typical Day...

What You'll Do

Executive Support (20%)

• Own complex calendars and scheduling for the CEO and Leadership Team like a pro.

• Keep communication flowing — emails, calls, follow‐ups, all handled with precision.

• Build polished agendas, slides, and documents that make the team look great.

• Coordinate travel (domestic + international) and ensure every detail is dialed in.

• Be a trusted liaison for stakeholders across the U.S. and Japan team.

• Join key meetings conducted in Japanese and support with real‐time interpretation in English, and at times, vice versa.

• Translate documents and communication effortlessly between Japanese and English.

Office Operations & Culture (25%)

• Create a workspace people love to work in — organized, well‐stocked, and running smoothly.

• Manage vendors, equipment, supplies, and office systems like an owner.

• Welcome new hires and guests with seamless onboarding and thoughtful hospitality.

• Take the lead on office rhythms: meal orders, refreshments, inventory, and workspace organization.

• Curate memorable team gatherings, welcome gifts, holiday gifts, and appreciation items.

Events & Special Projects (30%)

• Plan and execute consumer and trade events, and meetings.

• Drive logistics for Japan HQ visits and high-stakes leadership presentations.

• Coordinate venues, catering, materials, schedules — all the details that make events smooth and polished.

• Jump into cross-functional special projects and help push big initiatives forward.

Business Support & Cross‐Team Coordination (25%)

• Keep a pulse on consumer feedback and route issues toward fast resolution.

• Support creation of presentations, marketing materials, and communication assets.

• Work with external partners, agencies, and vendors to execute high-impact initiatives, including sending samples, meeting follow-ups, and any additional activity that will add value to the relationship.

Overview

Our client, the U.S. subsidiary of a major Japan-based real estate developer and investor, is seeking a Bilingual Japanese Associate Manager, Real Estate Investments to join their team in El Segundo, CA.


This position supports real estate investment activities including underwriting, market research, transaction execution, and reporting to headquarters in Japan. The role offers the opportunity to work on cross-border investment initiatives and collaborate closely with both U.S. and Japan-based teams.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams in a dynamic investment environment.


Must-Have Requirements

  • 3–7 years of experience in real estate acquisitions, investment, or capital markets
  • Strong financial modeling and underwriting skills (Excel required; ARGUS experience preferred)
  • Understanding of U.S. commercial real estate markets and investment processes
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Native-level English proficiency; business-level Japanese communication skills preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Business, or a related field
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Responsibilities

Real Estate Investment & Analysis

  • Build detailed financial models and underwriting analyses for potential real estate investments
  • Review investment materials including offering memorandums, rent rolls, financial statements, and ARGUS files
  • Conduct market and submarket research and competitive analysis
  • Prepare investment memoranda and materials for internal investment committee review


Transaction & Project Support

  • Support transaction execution and coordinate due diligence activities including inspections, third-party reports, and lender documentation
  • Coordinate with brokers, partners, developers, lenders, and consultants
  • Track deal timelines, documentation, and internal approval processes


Portfolio & Cross-Border Coordination

  • Monitor progress and key milestones of existing investments
  • Review monthly and quarterly asset reports and KPIs
  • Prepare reports and documentation for Japan headquarters
  • Support visits by Japan-based executives and assist with cross-border coordination and communication


Operational Support

  • Provide general administrative support for the U.S. office including documentation management, scheduling, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
