Position Summary:
Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
- Documents patient care given.
- Monitors, records, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

What we're looking for
The right candidate will provide direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a registered nurse and/or physician. Provides for personal care, comfort and assists with safe, clean environment, maintains equipment and supplies. Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities.
Applicants should have a current VA RN license or compact state
Graduate of a professional nursing program
Bachelors degree preferred but not required
Additional requirements include:
American Heart Association Basic Life Support required
Experience in acute care hospital, preferred
American Heart Association ACLS
·Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association OR Emergency Nurse Association (ENPC) required
Trauma Nurse Certification Course (TNCC) Emergency Nurse Association, preferred)
Minimum of one (1) year of RN clinical experience in an emergency department required.
Minimum two (2) years supervisory/management or Charge Nurse experience, preferably in a patient care setting required.

Our rehabilitation programs provide ongoing care and specialized treatment to patients throughout their recovery journey. We offer customized, individualized rehabilitation tailored to the specific needs of those recovering from a stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury.
How you'll contribute
Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L), the COTA role plays a vital role in acquiring relevant patient information and implementing individualized, evidence-based treatment plans using a variety of techniques and therapeutic activities. The COTA role involves working with a diverse diagnostic population, maintaining accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies and State Practice Act standards. The COTA will also closely monitor patient progress, contribute to the achievement of short- and long-term goals, and provide feedback and treatment recommendations to the supervising OTR/L as appropriate.

Department/Unit Summary
The rehabilitation Registered Nurse (RN) at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Rehabilitation Hospital provides planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process of Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation. Develops nursing care plan in coordination with patient, family and interdisciplinary staff as necessary. Communicates changes in patient's clinical condition with Physicians, Nursing Supervisor/Manager, and co-workers as appropriate. Participates in discharges planning process.

Qualifications and requirements
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
- CPR/BCLS certification. ACLS preferred.
- CCRN preferred.
- Minimum six months' Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
