Haywood Regional Medical Center is located in Haywood County and licensed for 154 beds. The hospital was created in 1927 as the first county hospital in North Carolina. Later rebuilding in 1978 to our new location in Clyde. Continuing a long-standing tradition of excellence, Haywood Regional Medical Center offers a comprehensive array of services, including orthopedics, spine services, cardiology, general surgery, women's care, emergency medicine, behavioral health, and includes 11 multi-specialty physician clinics. The campus, located in Clyde, is also home to the 54,000 square foot Haywood Regional Health and Fitness Center, and the 44,000 square foot Outpatient Care Center (includes the outpatient surgery center, laboratory, imaging center and physician practices). Haywood Regional Medical Center also operates two urgent care centers in the county, in Hazelwood and Canton. The majority of cases are general and orthopedic. Surgical operations are conducted Monday through Friday, with additional night, weekend, and holiday call rotations to ensure continuous coverage.

We offer Telehealth intensivists for immediate support and manage a diverse range of diagnoses including respiratory failure, cardio/pulmonary disease, sepsis, and diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). What we're looking for
Applicants should have a current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of North Carolina or from a compact state. Additional requirements include:
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
- AHA ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
- One year of experience preferred
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Join our team in a 12-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Staffed with Registered Nurses (RNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), our ICU operates with a 1:2 nurse to patient ratio. We offer Telehealth intensivists for immediate support and manage a diverse range of diagnoses including respiratory failure, cardio/pulmonary disease, sepsis, and diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, administering specialized treatments, monitoring critical conditions, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes. This position provides an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where teamwork, critical thinking, and compassionate care are paramount.
How you'll contribute
A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:
- Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
- Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
- Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
- Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
- Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
- Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
