Is able to carry out an appropriate plan of care based off assessment, clinical recommendations and requirements in a team- oriented environment for cardiac procedures.
Has the ability to perform medication administration in the safe and compliant manner with standards of nursing practice and monitoring the patient who has received sedation within the procedural care area.
Is able to perform correct documentation in compliance with hospital and nursing standards on appropriate charting systems. Cerner documentation hospital-wide and McKesson or Change documentation within the procedural area. Experience preferred but not required.
Continuously evaluates patient condition and has the ability to work and make decisions independently and able to provide education appropriately based off patient circumstances, condition, cultural and spiritual needs.
Ability with training to monitor, identify and appropriately handle pacing protocols with assistance from EP physician on Abbott Workmate.
With training the EP RN will be able to remove and manage site from arterial and venous sheaths
The EP Lab nurse will work closely in a sterile environment with the interdisciplinary team to perform the following procedures:
Permanent Pacemaker Implantation, BivICD, BiV pacemakers and Micra pacemaker
Ablations- Atrial fibrillation/Flutter and Cryo-Ablations
SVT, Ventricular tachycardia
Loop Recorder Watchmen Implantation

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Vascular Access Nurse to join our specialized team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, inserting, and managing various vascular access devices, including PICC lines, midlines, and ultrasound-guided peripheral IVs. Your expertise will ensure optimal patient outcomes and contribute to the overall quality of care provided.
Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and case managers, to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
Proficiency in ultrasound-guided procedures, strong critical thinking abilities, and excellent communication skills.

Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
Assesses patients for the need for a mid-to-long-term vascular access device (VAD) to provide a reliable device for therapy utilizing evidence-based guidelines for VAD placement and care.
Assesses patients with difficult intravenous access (DIVA) for appropriate VAD need
Assesses patient information via electronic chart reviews for indications, pertinent history, and lab values and medication administration record
Verifies indications for VAD placement, coordinate with physicians and provide recommendations for selection of appropriate vascular access device
Coordinates discharge planning and post-discharge follow-up for VAD's, in collaboration with inpatient hospitalists
Provides vascular access device placement for patients in outpatient settings as appropriate
Places and assists in maintaining the appropriate vascular access device throughout all hospital services except Pediatric patients; or refer Interventional Radiology when appropriate
Obtains informed patient consent for PICC placement
Performs ultrasound-guided placement of vascular access devices under sterile or surgical aseptic technique as appropriate
Administers local anesthesia(lidocaine) during ultrasound-guided procedures as appropriate
Utilizes PICC tip confirmation system to confirm placement of PICC line
Follows up on Chest X-Ray to confirm PICC placement of PICC line
Documents placement of vascular access devices in the electronic health record
Addresses and assists medical and nursing colleagues in troubleshooting complications of vascular access devices
Follows up on complications encountered during the PICC placement and provide recommendations for unsuccessful PICC placement
Declots VADs or assist staff as a resource in declotting
Provides patient reaching on Vascular access device care and maintenance
Provides resource education to staff on vascular access devices
Assist in writing policies and procedures related to VAD insertion, care and maintenance
Provides staff education on VAD care and management and complication management
Provides physician education and serve as an expert consultant to physicians on VADs
Provides education and training on ultrasound-guided placement of vascular devices to nursing and medical colleagues
Collects VAD data and report on number of procedures performed independently, number of complications and rate of central line-associated blood stream infections
Participates in the development of internal quality improvement process as assigned
Maintains knowledge and competency level related to infusion therapy
Evaluates new VAD products introduced to the hospital and assists in training staff as appropriate

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) House Supervisor to join our dynamic team in our 24 bed, Level 3 Trauma Emergency Room, ranked in Lifepoint Health. As an RN in our ER, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality care to patients experiencing a wide range of traumatic injuries and medical emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides after-hours leadership, functions as a resource person for staff, assists in patient care, and is responsible for overall quality of patient care in the facility. Reports to the Senior or Chief Nursing Officer or Administrator on Call.
- Patient Populations Served: Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.
- Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record.
- Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present; involves contact with patients or specimens, including blood, body fluids, and non-intact skin.
- Physical Requirements: Frequent computer use and repetitive hand/arm movements; occasional standing, walking, sitting, and light patient handling. Exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, and latex.

Qualifications and Requirements:

The Sumners Pulmonary MedSurg (A4) Unit at Highpoint Health is a 24-bed unit specializing in the care of patients with pulmonary diseases. In addition to pulmonary conditions, the unit provides exposure to a variety of other patient disease processes, offering a broad spectrum of medical-surgical care.

Qualifications and requirements

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES -
Responsible and accountable for coordinating and supervising the nursing care provided to patients having operative or other invasive procedures. The nurse manager will provide functional direction to members of the perioperative team to achieve optimal patient outcomes while optimizing available resources including surgical case management and perioperative patient care coordination. Will serve as a clinical resource to the nursing staff; appropriately and accurately communicate and share information; effectively establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with team members; manage specialty area frustrations and challenges in a constructive and positive manner and assist others to work effectively under stress. The nurse manager must use appropriate channels of communication; facilitate the orientation/cross-training of students/staff to specialty area. The nurse manager will support the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

- Supervises perioperative nursing staff as described above.

EDUCATION-

- One to two years' previous management experience is preferred with three years clinical experience in one or more specialty area(s).
- Two to three years in-depth knowledge and skill related to surgical patients, population, supplies, documentation, equipment, and patient care requirements, etc.) strongly preferred.

What we're looking for
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute in Recreational Therapy (CTRS), Music Therapy (MT-BC), Art Therapy (ATR, ATR-BC, ATR-P LPAT), or similar field required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.
- License: Current unencumbered certification/license/registration required per state of practice guidelines.
- Additional Requirements: CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days. May be required to work flexible hours, holidays, and overtime.
