Job Description
The Compliance Coordinator supports affordable housing properties and ensures full compliance with federal, state, and local program requirements. This role works closely with the Compliance Department and other operational teams while traveling between multiple worksites. The position involves coordinating certifications, communicating with residents, and assisting with audits and inspections to maintain accurate and compliant files.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure ongoing compliance with affordability requirements throughout a resident’s tenancy
- Process interim, initial, and termination certifications
- Generate recertification notices that meet HUD and IRS requirements
- Complete annual recertifications, including direct communication with residents
- Process renewal paperwork, including Section 8 voucher renewals
- Generate vacancy claims and repayment agreements for approval
- Schedule Section 8 voucher inspections with the Centralized Maintenance Team
- Ensure occupancy standards and house rules are followed and collaborate with other departments as needed
- Provide backup or additional support to other Compliance Department staff
- Ensure adherence to Federal, State, and local Fair Housing regulations and ordinances
- Assist with file audits and management reviews on site
- Attend quarterly and annual trainings to maintain compliance knowledge
- Support other Operational Departments as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
