The Gear Grind Machinist at Triumph Geared Solutions - Macomb is responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of Gear Grind machines in the Gear Grind Department. The Gear Grind Machinist must be able to produce high-quality products according to Triumph Gear Systems Gear Grind Department operations manual.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Clock in & out of appropriate job operations
- Read, interpret, and apply information from engineering drawings
- Adhere to job plans per job travelers
- Set-up multiple types of jobs
- Operate CNC Gear Grind Equipment (Using CBN form wheels & dressable grit wheels)
- Basic Maintenance of CNC gear grind machines (KAPP, Hofler, Klingelnberg)
- First part quality inspections
- Use precision measurement equipment (Use of micrometers, MBW & MOW checks)
- Consistently produce quality parts. (Understanding of gear terminology. LEAD, SPACING, PROFILE Etc.)
- Adhere to directions and instructions of direct supervisor
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary CNC related certificate or degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of Gear Grind operations
- Ability to read, understand and correctly interpret blueprints, planning and manufacturing specifications.
- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.

Key Responsibilities
Corporate & Transactional
- Draft, negotiate, and manage a wide range of agreements including NDAs, LOIs, joint ventures, MIPAs, service and vendor contracts, and investor documentation.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic commercial action plans aligned with company objectives.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities (prospecting, RFQs, market studies).
- Lead commercial negotiations (pricing, contracts, terms, annual reviews).
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with customers, actively managing communication and expectations.
- Monitor project progress and collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful delivery.
- Manage forecasting, budgeting, and profitability for your customer accounts.
- Ensure alignment with Flexitech’s processes (quality, safety, compliance, governance).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business or Engineering (Mechanical Engineering is appreciated).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar Key Account or Business Development role within the automotive industry.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field
- Proven experience in the automotive industry
- Strong commercial acumen and proven negotiation skills
- Solid understanding of automotive industrial processes and project management methodologies (PPAP, APQP, etc.)
- Proficiency in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills required; knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP is a strong advantage
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
- Customer-oriented mindset with a strong focus on business performance and continuous improvement
- Ability to operate effectively within a matrix organization and manage complexity.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, maintain, and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100 and ISO 13485.
- Develop and refine PFMEA processes to ensure thorough risk assessment and mitigation.
- Drive SPC implementation and data‑driven process control throughout manufacturing.
- Oversee quality engineering, inspection, calibration, and compliance activities.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring timely and effective corrective actions.
- Partner with engineering and operations to resolve quality issues and deploy robust corrective solutions.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to quality team members to strengthen organizational capability.
- Ensure proper application, programming, and strategy for CMM inspection (PC‑DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent).
- Report key quality metrics, trends, and improvement initiatives to leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline (preferred).
- 5+ years in Quality Engineering, Quality Management, or related roles in aerospace, medical device, or precision manufacturing.
- Strong working knowledge of PFMEA, control plans, and risk-based methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with SPC, statistical methods, and manufacturing data analysis.
- Demonstrated understanding of AS9100 and/or ISO 13485 standards.
- CMM experience including programming or oversight of complex measurement routines.
- Proven ability to lead teams, collaborate cross‑functionally, and drive systemic improvements.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Position Title: Manufacturing Engineering Intern
Department: Engineering
Reports to: Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Classification: Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the design, documentation, and improvement of products and manufacturing processes. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to help translate concepts into manufacturable designs while ensuring products are built efficiently and to high quality standards. This role offers the opportunity to develop CAD drawings, create technical documentation, assist with manufacturing tooling and fixtures, and collaborate with the production team to solve real-world engineering challenges on the factory floor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and update 2D and 3D CAD drawings.
- Develop technical documentation such as work instructions, quality plans, and engineering documentation for internal and external use.
- Assist in building manufacturing and welding fixtures according to engineering drawings.
- Collaborate with manufacturing team members to troubleshoot and solve production challenges.
- Provide hands-on support on the production floor when needed.
- Assist engineering team with continuous improvement and product development activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Intermediate AutoCAD skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage and complete projects independently.
- Team-oriented with a willingness to support colleagues when needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma required.

- Prior exposure to manufacturing environments preferred.
- Hands-on experience with shop equipment such as drill presses, saws, or welding equipment preferred.
- Machine shop experience preferred.
- Valid Michigan driver’s license.
