A full-service, 20-attorney law firm near the Queens / Nassau County, Long Island (close to LIRR) is hiring an Attorney, Commercial Transactions at the Associate, Senior Associate, Counsel, or possibly the Partner level, DOE, w/ a clear path to a PARTNER position to LEAD the Commercial Transactions Group in an orderly transition, to replace a partner departing the firm in 1-2 yrs.
Culture: Partners are committed to a limit of 1600 billable hours/yr in order to prioritize personal well-being, and better manage work / life boundaries and life's demands outside of work.
The departing partner works in several capacities/Groups for the firm, allocating about 50% of his time to the Commercial Transactions Group; it's therefore CRITICALLY IMPORTANT for the new hire to join the firm WITH a portable BOOK OF BUSINESS to fill (at least) 50% of their time / workload. Starting Salary: ~$160k - $175k, DOE and book of business value, plus bonus, plus origination fees / commissions on the portable book of business and future business brought into the firm.
Location: The work is ON SITE ON LONG ISLAND for the most part, with some flex to work in the firm's Manhattan or NJ office, as needed, or sporadically on a remote basis, as needed.

Responsibilities:
- Commercial Transaction / Business / Corporate work, including advising ownership and management of privately-held companies at the startup through exit stages of growth.
- Counsel clients and run key areas of Commercial Transactional / Business / Corporate matters, such as buying, closing, forming, structuring and selling businesses, mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance, compliance matters, etc.
- Draft and negotiate commercial contracts.
- Compose / Create Operating / Shareholder / Employment Agreements.
- If experienced in this area: Handle client negotiations through closings related to commercial real estate acquisitions, sales, leasing, and financing activities.

Job Description
The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors and senior leadership to execute the vision and mission of the organization; strengthen, implement, and expand core program work and operations; serve as a key representative to coalition allies, community groups, elected officials, and media; and provide senior leadership for internal oversight, administration, fundraising, and organizational development.
Leadership and Management
- Provide vision and collaborate with the Board of Directors and staff to set the organization's strategic direction rooted in mission and values.
- Ensure programmatic excellence, rigorous evaluation, and consistent quality across finance, administration, fundraising, communications, and systems.
- Recommend timelines and resources necessary to achieve strategic goals.
Fundraising and Communications

- Expand and manage external relationships and serve as the primary staff liaison with key stakeholders.
- Work closely with NAKASEC (National Korean American Service & Education Consortium) and its affiliates (c3, c4, PAC):
- Serve as MinKwon's primary contact with NAKASEC, maintaining regular and transparent communication.
- Actively participate in NAKASEC ED convenings and strategic discussions.
- Help strengthen the NAKASEC network by being a thought partner and identifying opportunities for collaboration.
- Proactively share relevant information, raise issues, and immediately inform NAKASEC of any legal or organizational actions impacting shared goals.
- Collaborate with NAKASEC to develop, implement, and maintain joint policies and procedures.
Program and Organizational Development
- Lead strategic, operating, and capital planning in alignment with Board policies and organizational mission.
- Monitor MinKwon's progress against programmatic, financial, and operational goals.
- Work with staff, Board members, volunteers, and community leaders to strengthen existing programs, integrate activities, and develop new initiatives.
Staff Management
- Recruit, train, and retain a talented team capable of leading programs and managing strategic functions.
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance, ensuring accountability.
- Create and maintain a positive organizational culture that motivates and supports staff performance and equity.
- Represent staff concerns and issues to the Board on relevant matters.
Board Relations

This role is essential to ensuring financial stability, optimizing resource allocation, and supporting Sei’s rapid growth as the fastest layer 1 blockchain. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, analytical leader who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment and has experience in both traditional finance and the unique dynamics of web3 organizations.
Responsibilities- Strategic Financial Planning:Design and implement financial strategies that align with Sei’s mission & growth objectives, supporting both short & long-term priorities and goals.
- Treasury Management:Manage treasury operations, including digital asset management, to maintain liquidity, optimize returns, and safeguard assets.
- Capital Allocation:Develop and oversee capital deployment strategies, evaluating ROI on investments in the Sei ecosystem.
- Budget Management:Oversee the Foundation’s budget, ensure efficient resource allocation, and maintain transparency and accountability across all teams.
