Position Summary The Maintenance Engineer III supports corporate maintenance operations and may assist with supporting the housekeeping and mail room operations, if required at assigned location.

For corporate maintenance, this position is responsible for performing advanced preventative maintenance, installations, and repairs for corporate and regional facilities operations assigned.

Expected Contributions Maintenance Performs advanced preventive maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of building systems and equipment, including HVAC, mechanical, low-voltage electrical systems, structured cabling (e.g., CAT6 punch-down to junction boxes), plumbing, refrigeration, commercial kitchen equipment, appliances, controls, and energy management systems.

Diagnoses system issues, calibrates controls and gauges, and completes repairs using appropriate tools, equipment, and technical documentation.

Installs, maintains, and reconfigures systems furniture, case goods, appliances, and equipment across multiple sites; performs general furniture maintenance, relocation, and setup as needed.

Supports central plant and warehouse operations by maintaining equipment, tracking, labeling, and identifying inventory, and recommending replacement of defective or outdated assets.

Responds to service requests, prioritizes assigned work, and completes tasks independently while coordinating with Facilities Leadership to meet established quality standards.

Identifies, locates, and operates equipment shut‑off valves and systems to support safe and effective maintenance activities.

Maintains accurate maintenance records, logs, and documentation, including work performed, readings, and equipment status.

Serves as an experienced technical resource by sharing knowledge and best practices with peers as needed; does not carry supervisory responsibility.

Maintains tools, equipment, and maintenance inventory, including requisitioning.

Operates Pitney Bowes to receive and distribute incoming mail and packages as needed.

Job Summary

The Financial Operations Supervisor, under the general direction of the Deputy Director of Finance & Administration, leads and directly supervises the daily operations of the city's centralized purchasing functions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and mail services.

Considered a working supervisor, the Financial Operations Supervisor ensures that tasks within the operations division are completed accurately and timely, according to established standards. This position oversees the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and goals, and is responsible for supervising staff, evaluating, assigning tasks, and balancing workloads.

Distinguishing Characteristics: The Financial Operations Supervisor is well-versed in the functional areas overseen and provides technical support to staff. This position oversees multiple functions within financial operations, but differs from the Financial Operations Manager position, which manages the division, prepares recommended division budget, and determines resources needed to accomplish program goals. The incumbent operates with considerable autonomy and independent judgment.

  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of financial operations staff assigned to purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and mail services.
  • Supervises subordinate personnel, including motivating, training, and delegating assignments; monitoring performance; conducting performance evaluations; taking disciplinary/corrective action; recommending salary increases and promotions; and recommending hirings and terminations.
  • Monitors and interprets changes in applicable laws, regulations, and technology that may affect departmental operations. Develops, analyzes, and implements policy and procedural changes after approval; monitors for compliance.
  • Evaluates various financial operations functions to improve customer service, productivity, and efficiency, and assists with work-related issues that cannot be addressed by staff; performs research as needed.
  • Oversees the purchasing function including the citywide procurement of goods and services, the issuance of purchase orders and contracts, the preparation of bids, cooperative purchase agreements with other public agencies, the surplus program, and the purchasing card program.
  • Assists with the development and execution of various types of interlocal cooperative agreements including mutual aid agreements.
  • Supervises the operations of accounts receivable and accounts payable and serves as backup to staff as needed. Manages vendor and customer relations, setups, inquiries, and approvals related to quotes, wage rates, taxes, and billing. Ensures accurate record-keeping and efficient processing of payments, invoices, refunds, and customer billing for various taxes and fees.
  • Collaborates with internal customers, managers, and directors to provide strategic procurement, contracting, and program support to fulfill adopted strategic priorities.
  • Ensures that all city expenditures adhere to purchasing policy, procedures and applicable procurement law. Ensure accountability, compliance, and consistent interpretation and application with all current and applicable state and federal laws, agency policies and procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Serves as the primary contact on procurement issues for federal and state auditors on annual audits. Responds to questions regarding procurement policies, compliance with laws and regulations, internal controls, variances, exceptions, and procurement methods and procedures.
  • Solves complex technical and managerial problems utilizing an understanding of intra- and inter-departmental relationships where no precedent exists.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to departmental staff in proper work methods and procedures; reviews multi-departmental activity for accuracy and compliance.
  • Reviews and audits payment and billing entries, proactively resolving discrepancies. Provides leadership and guidance to the team on best practices, ensuring full compliance with GAAP. Addresses challenges promptly, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Provides guidance and expertise to departments and city staff in the interpretation of purchasing requirements and procedures as prescribed by state and federal agency regulations, grant stipulations, and City policy. Recognizes and assesses strategic and operational risks and opportunities and addresses them appropriately during the procurement and contracting process.
  • Fosters a positive and supportive work environment; promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the workplace, contributing to an environment of respectful living and working in a multicultural society.
Peripheral Duties:
  • Presents procurement-related agenda items at City Council meetings.
  • Performs duties of assigned staff as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, purchasing and materials management, business law, public administration, or closely related field.
  • Experience: 5 years' experience in purchasing and accounts payable/accounts receivable, preferably in the public sector. 2 years' experience in a supervisory position preferred.
  • Or: In place of the above requirements, the incumbent may possess any combination of relevant education and experience which would demonstrate the individual's knowledge, skill, and ability to proficiently perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above.

We are seeking a Judicial Specialist 1 to join our team. Our Judicial Specialists provide technical and administrative support to the court and provide assistance to our court users and community members. Work is performed independently and as part of a team. Tasks are completed with general guidelines and require some independent judgment.   • Determine if defendant is eligible for personal recognizance bond by reviewing court records. If eligible, complete forms, set appropriate hearing, and recall warrant.
  • Serve as jury coordinator; select, qualify, summons, track attendance and hours served by Jurors, and calculate expenditures.
  • Serve as court clerk while court is in session and record and document proceedings; perform bailiff duties during jury trials; direct and accommodate jurors.
  • Calculate, accept and account for bails, fines, restitution and costs; enter transactions in computer system recording receipt of funds; balance journal and make daily deposit as assigned.
  • Perform various duties related to the domestic violence legislation requirements including but not limited to preparing orders, copying, notifying Domestic Violence Advocate, entering information into computer, searching for information.

JOB SUMMARY:

Perform general duty police work involving the protection of life and property; the enforcement of laws and ordinances; prevention and investigation of crimes and maintenance of order and positively engage with community members on an assigned shift. Work is performed independently and as part of a team. Tasks are completed with general guidelines and require independent judgment. Contribute to the Department and City's vision, mission, and goals in the performance of all job duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Contribute to an environment of respect and teamwork.

  • Respond to emergency and routine dispatched calls as directed.
  • Patrol the City on an assigned shift in a police vehicle, on a motorcycle, bicycle, or on foot; patrol business and residential districts occasionally on foot to provide an element of safety by obvious visibility; look for crimes or potential crimes in progress.
  • Answers 911 calls and complaints involving criminal and noncriminal activities.
  • Administers emergency first aid to injured or incapacitated persons as required.
  • Stop traffic violators, identify suspicious individuals, and take appropriate lawful action; apprehend violators or offenders of the law, sometimes involving a substantial element of personal danger and lawful, reasonable use of physical force.
  • Use de-escalation techniques to increase likelihood of compliance.
  • Utilize and maintain a variety of specialized equipment such as firearms, police vehicles, radios, batons, handcuffs, pepper spray, Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) breath testing equipment and others according to established procedures; maintain skill and proficiency in driving, the use of firearms, and other issued weapons

  • Remain current with legislation, court rulings, department policy, and relevant technological advancements as it relates to assignment.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Not less than 21 years of age at the time of examination
  • Ability to read and write the English language
  • Lawful permanent resident or US citizen
  • Ability to pass entrance examination successfully and meet the minimum medical and health standards adopted by the Civil Service Commission
  • Valid Washington State driver's license by date of hire
  • Stringent personal background investigation including:
    • Polygraph examination
    • Psychological evaluation
    • Medical physical, including a drug-screening test
    • Driving record check.
  • Must be able to qualify for the ACCESS Certification


POLICE OFFICER - LATERAL:

  • At least 12 months experience, within the last 36 months, as a full-time, paid, commissioned Police Officer.
  • The 12 months of experience will be waived if the applicant has successfully completed a state law enforcement academy that is recognized by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WSCJTC) and was released due to budgetary constraints and eligible for rehire by that former agency.
  • Lateral Police Officers with experience in Washington state must have successfully passed a WSCJTC Basic Law Enforcement Academy or its equivalent recognized by the WSCJTC.
  • Lateral Police Officers with experience not attained at an agency in Washington State are required to pass the WSCJTC Basic Law Enforcement Equivalency Course.

Selection Procedure

An oral board interview may be scheduled for the top qualified candidates. Candidates must obtain a 70% passing score in the oral board to be placed on the eligibility list. Veterans and Language Preference Points are awarded to eligible candidates who make the request and include the proper qualifying documentation after successfully passing an interview.
