Veterinary Surgery Technician
 Red Bank Veterinary Hospital (RBVH) proudly opened its new, state-of-the-art facility in May 2024—an expansive, 100,000+ square foot space nearly twice the size of our original Tinton Falls location. We are seeking a Surgery Technician who is friendly, able to work independently, communicates well, and stays organized. This role involves helping with a variety of daily tasks and working closely with all departments in the hospital. Location:

Position Overview:
The Surgery Technician supports surgeons and the related patient care of surgical cases. The surgery team is a dynamic group within an ER and Specialty Hospital that has a busy caseload of elective and emergency procedures. The Surgery Technician assists with various surgeries including soft tissue, orthopedic, laparoscopic, and other advanced surgeries.

Compensation:
  • Credentialed Technicians: $28- $33/hr. based on experience
  • Non-Credentialed Technicians: $25- $30/hr. based on experience
The final compensation offer will be based on the qualified candidate’s experience and ability to make an impact coming into the role.

  • Inspect the anesthesia machine, endotracheal tubes, and other anesthesia equipment before and after use assuring that the anesthetic machine and equipment are in proper working order
  • Equipment troubleshooting: IV pumps, surgivet, Doppler, anesthesia machine, pulse ox
Communications
  • Excellent communication skills with coworkers and with clients
  • Plan procedures with other departments
  • Train new hires, interns and externs
Hospital maintenance
  • Make sure the hospital is ready for the next shift/day (clean/stock)
  • Complete any task listed by the supervisor
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Two years of experience working as a nursing team member in a surgery department or with heavy surgical responsibilities is required..
  • Prior experience with anesthesia techniques and protocols is required.
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!

Registered Respiratory Therapists provide evidence-based clinical care to some of the most critically ill patients in the United States. Caring for adult, pediatric and/or neonatal patient populations, Registered Respiratory Therapists evaluate, treat and care for patients with a wide range of lung diseases and respiratory disorders, such as asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, emphysema, COPD and lung cancer. Registered Respiratory Therapists also perform other duties such as IV insertion, ECGs, peripheral phlebotomy and more.

A caregiver in this position works 7:00PM - 7:30AM with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

* Provide assessment, treatment, care and evaluation to patients with respiratory insufficiencies.

* Implement and monitor patient care plans.

* Assess patients for the appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop, implement and monitor patient care plans.

* Monitor, record and communicate patients' conditions.

* Perform advanced respiratory care modalities, evaluate respiratory practice, administer medications and treatments, and perform blood gas puncture and analysis.

* Educate patients and families about the illness and provide information about community support groups and other programs.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

* Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

* Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

* Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board Licensure.

* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

* 3-5 years of experience in a critical care setting.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

* Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care

* Previous experience working in an expanded, multiskilled RT role (re: IV insertion, managing a POC lab, AMET team experience, etc.)

* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) certification.

Physical Requirements:

* Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
* Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.
* May require sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.
* Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
* Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $36.75

Maximum hourly: $48.55

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced CRC that values strong operations, thoughtful study execution, and team-based approach to clinical research!

  • Coordinate all aspects of assigned clinical trials from site initiation through close-out
  • Conduct subject visits and ensure accurate, timely documentation in compliance with all applicable standards
  • Maintain compliance with protocols, GCP/ICH guidelines, FDA regulations, IRB requirements, and SOPs
  • Manage subject recruitment, informed consent, and retention activities (There is a recruitment team to support day to day recruitment)
  • Ensure timely EDC data entry and resolution of queries
  • Report and follow up on AEs, SAEs, and protocol deviations
  • Collaborate with investigators, sponsors/CROs, labs, and internal teams
  • Prepare for and participate in monitoring visits, audits, and inspections
  • Maintain regulatory documentation and ensure training compliance for amendments and systems
  • Perform study procedures such as phlebotomy, ECGs, and sample processing (as trained)
  • Attend investigator meetings and provide cross-functional support as needed
  • Maintain working knowledge of protocols, lab manuals, equipment calibration, and inventory

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care & Procedures: Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), obtaining vital signs, ECGs, and height/weight measurements for study participants.
  • Data Integrity: Assist in collecting and entering source data into Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems with high accuracy.
  • Lab Management: Process biological specimens (centrifuging, pipetting, freezing) and prepare them for shipment according to IATA guidelines.
  • Subject Recruitment: Assist with pre-screening potential patients over the phone and reviewing medical history to see if they qualify for studies.
  • Administrative Support: Maintain study binders, organize supply inventories, and assist with scheduling patient visits.
Who We Are Looking For

We are specifically seeking individuals with a strong medical foundation who are eager to learn the regulations of research (GCP/FDA).

Required Qualifications:

  • Background: Must fall into one of the following categories:
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with phlebotomy skills.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA).
  • Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG) looking to gain US clinical experience.
  • Clinical Skills: Proficiency in phlebotomy (blood draws) and taking vitals is highly preferred.
  • Tech Savvy: Comfortable using computers, navigating electronic medical records (EMR), and learning new software quickly.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent bedside manner, empathy for patients, and a \"no task is too small\" attitude.

Preferred (But Not Required - We Will Train!):

  • Previous experience in a clinical research setting.
  • IATA certification (shipping dangerous goods).
  • GCP (Good Clinical Practice) certification.
