The Tax Litigation Division defends the State when it is sued by plaintiffs challenging their tax liabilities, unemployment benefits decisions and wage claim decisions. The Division represents the Comptroller of Public Accounts and the Texas Workforce Commission as its clients in these cases. Suits against the Comptroller often have millions of dollars at issue with large, well-known companies on the other side. TWC suits challenge employers’ unemployment tax liability as well as the agency’s decisions on unemployment benefits and wage claims, which allow the opportunity for frequent court appearances. The Division’s cases generally involve discovery into a plaintiff’s business practices to determine whether their business model fits into the tax exemption they seek. Math is almost never involved, and tax experience is not required, nor preferred.

We seek a seasoned leader to join the US, Go-To-Market (GTM) team for the Twitch Ads organization within Amazon. This role will report directly to the Director, Global GTM and Brand Safety and be the US leader for developing the unified go-to-market strategy and strategic execution for advertising solutions across Twitch, propelling us to be the top tier solution in live video advertising. The Programmatic Ads team integrates with external demand partners (DSPs, SSPs, etc) through OpenRTB. We drive performance optimization (latency, conversion, engagement, fill rate, etc) for our programmatic ad products. We are also responsible for building internal tools to better enable cross-functional teams.
What you'll do:
- Lead one or two partner integrations, and work closely with product managers, data scientists, other cross-functional teams, and external partners to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Independently drive the full software development lifecycle, including ideation, technical design, prototyping, development, and release.
- Independently drive problem-solving and product iterations by utilizing A/B testing.
- Establish and maintain a high standard for technical excellence and production quality.
- Mentor junior engineers on the team and provide design and coding feedback.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related field or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of hands-on backend software engineering experience in large-scale distributed systems.
- Passion for working on ad products work.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder alignment skills.

We're looking for a Staff Data Scientist to lead the science behind how advertisers understand the impact of their investment on Pinterest through first and third party measurement products. You'll push the boundaries of ads measurement, advancing our approaches to causal inference and incrementality and partner closely with Product and Engineering, as well as represent Pinterest science externally with customers and partners.
What you'll do:
- Own the development of measurement methodologies that help advertisers understand and optimize the value of their Pinterest campaigns across the full ads delivery funnel.
- Design, implement, and validate advanced causal inference methods for incrementality and lift measurement.
- Ensure scientific rigor in our measurement products by anticipating and mitigating risks such as bias, imbalance, and under-power.
