About the Role Charlie Health is hiring exceptional Licensed Mental Health Therapists/ Counselors to provide telehealth services. We're eager to work with forward-thinking mental health, substance use, and eating disorder professionals to enhance our programming and provide the best possible care to our clients.

This can either be a contract/1099 position or a W2 position.

A contract position allows you the flexibility to schedule sessions and work wherever you are most comfortable. We request that our clinicians be able to dedicate a minimum of 12 hours per week to facilitate group sessions and take on individual and/or family sessions.

W2 position requires full time availability with some availability in the evenings and Saturdays required to facilitate group sessions and take on individual and/or family sessions.

About You
  • Well versed in a variety of modalities and feel confident integrating them into your treatment approach (DBT, CBT, EMDR, MI certification is a plus)

Qualifications

The total target base compensation for this role will be between $53,000 and $75,000 per year at the commencement of employment. In addition to base compensation, this role offers a target performance-based bonus. The target total cash compensation range, including potential bonus, will be between $57,000 and $80,000 per year. Please note, pay will be determined on an individualized basis and will be impacted by location, experience, expertise, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Further, cash compensation is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may include stock options and other Charlie Health-sponsored benefits.

Based on the nature of this role, you will need to complete several state background checks for clearance to see clients. QUALIFICATIONS

3. Facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational groups that provide clients with the opportunity to gain skills and learning in areas of basic living, substance use recovery, and interpersonal relationships/communication through a variety of evidence-based practices.
4. Counsel clients individually to set, track, and achieve rehabilitation and recovery goals.
5. Identify, assess, and respond to crisis situations. Set clear limits and ensure that both clients and the facility are safe.
6. Establish and maintain linkage with other social service, health, and behavioral health agencies, including Interim and Monterey County Behavioral Health (MCBH) psychiatrists and case coordinators.
7. Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically sound documentation in accordance with Medi-Cal, HIPAA, and agency requirements, including treatment plans, progress notes, and assessments.
8. Meet productivity and performance standards established by the program and agency.

- Deliver brief, evidence-based behavioral interventions (e.g., CBT, ACT, MI, behavioral medicine protocols) for patients with comorbid medical and psychological conditions.
- Conduct behavioral health assessments and screenings to inform primary care treatment plans.
- Partner with PCPs in real-time consultation regarding behavioral health strategies for patients.
- Address health-related behavior change (e.g., smoking cessation, weight management, medication adherence, diabetes management, cardiac rehab support).
- Support patients with chronic illness adjustment, stress, sleep disorders, and pain management.
- Coordinate care and referrals to higher levels of behavioral health treatment when indicated.
- Participate in team huddles, case reviews, and program development initiatives.

Required Qualifications

- Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
- Active, unrestricted license as a Psychologist in Virginia.
- Minimum of 3 years of post-licensure clinical experience.
- Strong training in health psychology/behavioral medicine and brief, evidence-based interventions.
- Demonstrated experience working in integrated or collaborative care settings.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a team-oriented mindset.
