This Physician will provide essential psychiatric care during evening shifts, Monday through Friday, starting at 3 PM.
Responsibilities include conducting client sessions, diagnosing, medication maintenance, chart review, and timely prescribing, primarily for patients with complex serious mental illnesses, co-occurring disorders, and high-risk needs.
Responsibilities and Duties Be provided with a list of clients and schedule sessions within available times.
Review and complete patient charts thoroughly.
Conduct client sessions focused on diagnosing and medication maintenance.
Prescribe and document medications within 48 hours of assessment.
Manage patients with Serious Mental Illness (SMI), including schizophrenia spectrum disorders with active psychosis and hallucinations, often post-discharge.
Stabilize mood cycles in patients with Bipolar I & II, including those with frequent hospitalizations.
Manage complex behavioral patterns and interpersonal challenges associated with Cluster B personality disorders.
Provide adult ADHD management, particularly within populations at high risk for substance diversion.
Manage psychiatric symptoms in patients with active substance use (Alcohol and Drug).
Coordinate care for patients being referred to on-site drug and alcohol treatment programs.
Provide psychiatric care for justice-involved individuals transitioning out of the jail system into community-based recovery.
Address needs of crisis and high-risk populations, including patients experiencing chronic homelessness and individuals in acute psychiatric crisis needing immediate stabilization.

- Provide individual and group therapy for children, adolescents, and adults
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, screenings, and psychosocial evaluations
- Treat depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, grief, substance use disorders, and serious mental illness (e.g., bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders)
- Utilize evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT skills, Motivational Interviewing, IPT, Behavioral Activation, Prolonged Exposure, etc.)
- Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, primary care providers, care coordinators, and the broader health team
- Provide psychoeducation and support for patients managing both physical and mental health conditions
- Coordinate referrals to higher levels of care or community resources (IOP/PHP, detox/rehab, housing, case management, support groups, etc.)
- Track patient outcomes and engagement through registry systems and EMR documentation
- Develop and update treatment plans, relapse prevention plans, and discharge summaries
- Participate in regular supervision and interdisciplinary case consultations
- Complete documentation and billing in a timely and compliant manner
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical Counseling, or related field required
- Active Pennsylvania license as an LCSW or LPC
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in a community health or integrated care setting
- Experience working with diverse and underserved populations
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based mental health treatment practices
- Commitment to culturally competent and LGBTQI+ affirming care
- Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Proficiency with EMR systems and general computer applications

Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Therapist located in Monterey, CA. The Therapist will provide individual and group therapy sessions, assess and develop personalized treatment plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support client recovery and mental health needs. The role also includes maintaining timely documentation, conducting progress evaluations, and offering crisis intervention as needed. The position requires a commitment to upholding a high standard of care and professionalism when working with a diverse client population.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in therapy techniques, counseling, and providing personalized mental health support
- Experience in mental health assessment, treatment planning, and clinical evaluations
- Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills for working with clients and interdisciplinary teams
- Organizational skills for maintaining accurate and timely records

The Staff Scientist will prepare grant applications and other scientific communication materials on a wide range of genomic research topics. This role is deeply immersed in the science of NYGC and supports our research team in building and expanding a successful, independently-funded research base. They collaborate with diverse teams of students, postdoctoral fellows, and principal investigators, and relates scientific and strategic goals to individual grant opportunities and other research communications vehicles. Typical grants include individual investigator, multi-PI and research center grants.
Key Responsibilities
- Takes a lead role in preparation and project management of individual and multi-investigator proposals;
- Provides advice on grantsmanship, editorial support and standardized language for administrative sections;
- Identifies opportunities for funding
- Manages the scientific writing process, including proposal management, team-building and coordination; establishing timelines and deliverables;
- Provides draft preparation, review and revision of grants and scientific writing.
- Coordinates with and supports Sponsored Research staff to ensure timely, accurate application submission.
- Edits manuscripts, fellowship applications, research progress reports, clinical research protocols and other research communications materials.
- Interacts with lab members to independently develop new grant proposals.
- Organizes small group meetings with lab members to review project progress, plan experiments, and integrate team data.
- Assists in the design and planning of functional genomics and genetic perturbation experiments; and,
- Assists in analysis and figure preparation of diverse types of data, including high-throughput sequencing, microscopy images, gel images, and schematic diagrams.
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- PhD in genetics, genomics, cancer biology, neuroscience or related discipline required;
- 5+ years research experience, including contributing to grant writing, required. NIH experience strongly desirable;
- Exceptional written communication skills required to prepare and edit competitive grant applications, publications, administrative materials, and other research communications;
- Ability to grasp complicated technical subjects, synthesize diverse lines of evidence and apply these abilities to technical writing required;
- Experience handling the scientific writing and project management process for multi-investigator and institutional grant applications strongly preferred;
- Experience with standard grant development concepts, practices, and procedures in a research environment preferred;
- Applied statistics background required, to perform power calculations and develop quantitative metrics for genomic assays;
- Ability to collaborate with diverse teams of investigators and administrative personnel required; and,
- Strong project management skills and experience required.

Salary
The salary range for this position is $62,000-78,000 per year. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, NYGC offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits as well as generous time off.

The New York Genome Center (NYGC) is an independent, nonprofit, academic research organization dedicated to advancing genomic research. NYGC scientists and staff are furthering new approaches to diagnosing and treating neurological diseases and cancer through their unique capabilities in whole genome sequencing, RNA sequencing, state-of-the art analytics, and the development of genomic tools. - Have delivered at least one child and are currently parenting
- No more than two (2) C-sections
- Not receiving government or public assistance (including Medicaid, WIC, SNAP/Food Stamps, or state-funded health insurance)
- No history of pregnancy complications (including gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia, or pre-term labor)
- No history of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, or major depressive disorder
- Not currently taking medications unsafe for pregnancy (including certain mental health medications)
- Able to travel for medical screening, monitoring, and embryo transfer appointments
- Live a healthy lifestyle free of illicit or recreational drug use
- Have a stable home environment and strong support system

Compensation & Benefits
We recognize the commitment, time, and care involved in being a gestational carrier. Compensation includes:
Base Compensation
- $60,000 – $70,000(First-time carrier to experienced carrier)
Additional Benefits
- $250 monthly expense allowance
- $500 maternity clothing allowance
- $10,500 for multiple birth
- Up to $10,000 for loss of organs (per contract terms)
- Lost wages (carrier and spouse, if applicable — based on employment verification)
- Travel reimbursement
- $200 per week for housekeeping (if medically necessary)
- $20 per hour for childcare (if medically necessary)
