CNC Machinist III ($30-$35 P/h)

This is a highly skilled, senior-level machinist responsible for setting up and operating CNC equipment to manufacture precision components. This role serves as a technical expert on the shop floor, leading complex machining projects, troubleshooting issues, and mentoring junior machinists to ensure quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Expectations

• Set up and operate CNC mills for complex, tight-tolerance parts
• Edit and optimize CNC programs (G-code or CAM-generated)
• Interpret advanced engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications
• Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies

This role leads advanced machining strategies, develops efficient programs using CAM software, and drives continuous improvement across machining processes. This position supports engineering and manufacturing by assisting with troubleshooting, process development, and manufacturability improvements, while mentoring machinists and supporting production excellence.

Expectations

• Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360)
• Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes for highly complex, tight-tolerance parts
• Interpret advanced engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements

Essential Duties

• Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specs, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work.
