Department Information

The School offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Biology, an M.S. degree in Bioinformatics, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Applied Physiology. It also participates in the interdisciplinary B.S. degree programs in Neuroscience and Environmental Science, and interdisciplinary Ph.D. programs in Bioinformatics, Neuroscience and Neurotechnology, Quantitative Biosciences, Ocean Science and Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering. Research interests of the faculty of the school span Computational Biology and Bioinformatics; Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior; Microbial Dynamics and Infection Biology; Genetics and Genomics; Integrative Physiology; and Molecular and Cell Biology. The School has a state budget of ~$13M per year and research expenditures amount to ~$19M per year. The School currently has 46 tenured/tenure-track faculty, 20 full-time instructional faculty members, 37 research faculty and postdocs, 26 state-supported staff positions, and 28 grant-supported staff. The School of Biological Sciences of the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in Atlanta, Georgia invites applications for the position of Chair of the School and Professor, with an anticipated starting date of August 1, 2026. Candidates must hold an earned doctorate (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, along with an outstanding record as a researcher, educator and mentor suitable for appointment with tenure, and a proven record of effective leadership and community building. Candidates should exhibit a strong commitment to collaboration and communication that values the breadth of the discipline, the diverse roles of individuals, and the development of students, postdoctoral fellows, staff and faculty. About the School of Psychology

The School of Psychology at the Georgia Institute of Technology places a strong emphasis on scientific research, discovery & innovation, and interdisciplinary education. Housed in the beautifully renovated J. S. Coon Building, a historical landmark in the center of campus, the School is a member of the College of Sciences. Job Summary

The Hybrid Intelligence Lab at Georgia Tech is seeking a postdoctoral fellow with a strong background in human factors and machine learning.



Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead research on team performance prediction and the multi-modal data fusion and modeling.



Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in a related field by the start date.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong theoretical knowledge of human factors and assessment methods (including performance, physiological, and subjective assessments)
  • Experience in machine learning.

Position Summary

Lead position that requires multi-certification and disciplines necessary to handle project approvals from start to finish through the plan review and inspection processes in accordance with the Division's mission and performance objectives.

Direct and lead Building Inspector/Plans Examiners and seasonal/casual staff. Assist the Division Manager and Building Official with program planning and personnel direction. Oversee the coordination of the building safety plan review and inspection process. Essential Duties

Building Inspector/Plans Examiner III
Leads and coordinates members of the development review and inspection teams to ensure a timely, predictable, comprehensive and accurate plan review and inspection process for any development proposal.

Reviews and inspects residential, commercial, industrial, and multi-family development proposals to ensure compliance with State and City codes/ordinances, engineering/architectural, and fire/life safety principles.

Depending on the Division's needs, performs construction plan review and site inspections:

  • Conducts Pre-Development, Plan Intake, and Pre-Construction meetings.
  • Takes the lead in coordinating plan reviews and inspections internally, with customers, and with other departments and agencies.
  • Maintains communication with contractors to anticipate and resolve onsite issues.
  • Performs building safety inspections and plan reviews.
  • Calculates and assesses fees.
  • Monitors permit and project status and follow-up with expired applications and permits.

Education and Experience
High school diploma, or equivalent required. Associates degree in Building Inspection Technology, Drafting, Engineering, Fire Prevention, or other related field preferred.

Four years of formal education, training, and/or experience in construction management, architecture, structural engineering, building design, construction inspection, and/or plan review providing the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of construction practices, engineering concepts, and architectural principles.

Excellent customer service, communication, and public relations skills and the ability to mediate adversarial situations. Ability to proactively anticipate and mitigate problem areas before they become issues.

- Plans and manages the activities of the Data Center Infrastructure department. Works in collaboration with other TGC IT departments supporting information system infrastructures to assure continuous operation of all enterprise-wide business critical systems.
- Oversees the planning and deployment of standards and technology changes for data center infrastructure environments and operational IT programs (i.e., lifecycle management, service continuity, compliance).
- Participates in TGC initiatives providing leadership and guidance on technology infrastructure standards, implications, and investments.
- Perform a lead role in the development of a broad TGC data center strategy.
- Anticipates and provides solutions for complex problems and issues, recommends upgrades and enhancements. Rapidly absorbs complex technical and conceptual information to identify issues and implications. - Provides leadership to ensure appropriate technology use, standards and policies. - Benchmark, analyze report on, and make recommendations for the improvement of the IT infrastructure and systems to achieve an optimal balance of cost and service.
- Promotes the use of TGC’s PMO methodology and standards to manage IT initiatives.
- Participates in the development and implementation of TGC’s business/disaster recovery plan. Facilitate periodic business recovery tests to ensure that plans are current and effective. Participates in other TGC emergency preparation and testing as required.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:

The Medical Support Assistant is the responsible for the performance and coordination of appointment scheduling.


Responsibilities:

Consistently responds to internal and external customer requests for assistance in a courteous, professional, cooperative, and helpful manner.

Answers the phone within 5 rings and follows appropriate telephone etiquette. Listens attentively to questions and confirms understanding by restating to the caller. Will collect adequate information before transferring a call to nurse, provider, social work, etc.

MSA has general knowledge of use and check in of all patients via Patient Check-in (PCI).

Serves Patient Relations Representative and actively listens to feedback, patient concerns and can self-resolve patient complaints / co-worker concerns in a tactful, professional manner.

Understands the roles and responsibilities of others in the team, participates in team huddles. All employees are expected to be courteous and cooperative and to work to achieve the goals of the clinic. This includes professional, constructive, and open communication with supervisor and other employees.
