About the Organization

A global transport and logistics provider is seeking an experienced Customs Manager to oversee and manage local customs brokerage operations in South San Francisco. The organization operates in over 80 countries and delivers end-to-end supply chain solutions including transportation, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and compliance services.

Position Summary

The Customs Manager is responsible for providing operational leadership and compliance oversight for local customs brokerage activities. This role ensures adherence to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, minimizes regulatory and financial risk, and supports efficient import/export processing.

This is a fully onsite leadership role requiring daily presence at the South San Francisco facility.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage local customs brokerage operations in alignment with CBP regulations and internal compliance standards

• Monitor transaction volume, reject rates, and entry accuracy

• Ensure timely filing of customs entries and payment of duties, taxes, and government obligations

• Conduct customs entry audits and compliance reviews

• Maintain documentation in accordance with 19 CFR 163

• Ensure responsiveness to CBP communications, notices, and directives

• Provide training and development to customs brokerage staff

• Optimize customs clearance processes to reduce delays and mitigate risk

• Manage relationships with customs authorities and clients

• Utilize ACE Secure Data Portal for compliance and reporting

• Ensure brokerage team has up-to-date access to CBP regulations and Harmonized Tariff Schedule

Required Qualifications

• Active U.S. Customs Broker License (Required)

• Minimum 5 years of experience in customs operations with management and compliance responsibilities

• In-depth understanding of U.S. Customs regulations, import requirements, and international trade practices

• Proficiency in customs valuation and classification methodologies

• Experience with customs automation systems and brokerage software

• Experience conducting audits and compliance assessments

• Strong leadership and team management skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Fluent in English (oral and written)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or related field

• Experience within global freight forwarding or logistics organizations

• Familiarity with Air & Sea freight forwarding brokerage environments

Compensation & Benefits

The expected base salary range for this position is $86,500 – $129,500 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic considerations.

  • Master's degree or higher in occupational therapy or a closely related field of study.
  • Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a state occupational therapy (OT) credential.

  • Prior experience and/or highly knowledgeable in providing occupational therapy services, preferably in an alternative, special education and/or behavioral health program setting.
  • Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, particularly for students with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, emotional behavioral disorders and/or other related disabilities.
  • Prior experience and/or knowledge in working with students with individualized education plans (IEP's).

  • Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency and make independent decisions.

Overview

The Kaiser Permanente Northern California region has three established and successful IVF centers located in Sacramento, Fremont, and San Francisco, which combined will manage 3000 cycles annually.


Reproductive Endocrinologists

FREMONT: We are looking to hire 2 full-time physicians to help us expand our REI/IVF practice in the Fremont area. Our service area - the Greater Southern Alameda Area - has OBGYN offices in 3 locations: Fremont, San Leandro, and Union City with 60+ OB/GYN physicians. We support 2 hospitals located in our Fremont and San Leandro campuses, with 1 Labor and Delivery unit in San Leandro. We are a team that values high quality, evidence-based medicine with a commitment to performance improvement work. We deliver approximately 4000 births a year; led by our Hospitalist group and supported by 20+ midwives. Our hospital has a Level 3 NICU and Neonatologists on staff. Our team of specialists includes 5 Perinatologists, 1 Urogynecologist, 2 REI/IVF specialists, 3 MIGS fellowship trained physicians, and 3 Complex Family Planning fellowship trained physicians. We serve a diverse patient population who speak 53 languages and have an established Maternal Child Health Patient Advisory Committee that focuses on health equity. We offer an exciting OB/GYN practice with lots of opportunity to grow as a physician in a supportive environment. All of our new hires have a physician mentor and participate in a robust onboarding program. We also offer an opportunity to participate in teaching and mentoring medical students.


SACRAMENTO:We are looking to hire a full-time physician to help us expand our REI/IVF practice in the Sacramento area. We currently have 2 board-certified physicians, 1 REI-trained PA, and 2 NPs, a close-knit team of support staff (RNs, LVN's, MA's), and a broad network of Kaiser Permanente physician colleagues, including Gyn/Onc, MFM, urogynecology, female pelvic pain, and minimally invasive surgery specialists, and over 94 OB/GYN generalists and 16 OB/GYN NPs in our medical center and satellite campuses. You will be joining a large group of KP Northern California REI specialists. We also have a reproductive urologist available for consultation (TESE/MESA capability).


SAN RAMON: We are looking to hire a full-time physician to help us expand our REI/IVF practice in San Ramon. We currently have two physicians and two REI-trained NPs, a close-knit team of support staff, and a broad network of Kaiser Permanente physician colleagues. You will be joining a large group of KP Northern California REI specialists.


SANTA CLARA: We are looking to hire a full-time physician to help us expand our REI/IVF practice in the South Bay. We currently have 4 board-certified physicians (1 full-time and 3 part-time) and 4 REI-trained NPs, 2 part-time REI trained advice nurses, a close-knit team of support staff (LVN's and MA's), and a broad network of Kaiser Permanente physician colleagues, including Gyn/Onc, MFM, urogynecology, female pelvic pain, and 10 minimally invasive surgery specialists, and 68 OB/GYN generalists and 3 OB/GYN NPs in our medical center and satellite campuses. You will be joining a large group of KP Northern California REI specialists. We also have a reproductive urologist available for consultation (TESE/MESA capability).
