Description Summary:
Provides technical support to the operations of patient care services through performance of scheduling, staffing, and report development and special projects related to staffing and scheduling.
Responsibilities:
Provides an adequate staff of nursing personnel for all shifts through the development. Prepares and maintains staffing schedules that meet hospital needs and apply to variable census conditions.
Refers to established unit staffing patterns to determine minimum staffing requirements for each nursing classification and work status for each unit based on 24-hour coverage.
Maintains current personnel phone lists.
In cooperation with nursing Director/Manager and using the established nursing staffing system, assists in daily staffing of units by assigning personnel, calling replacements, and communicating staffing issues, including projecting weekend needs.
Schedules and posts calendars containing information important to float per diem nursing personnel.
Enters changes to current and future schedules promptly.
Assists in development and implementation of projects for patient care services.
Maintains staffing, scheduling and related use.
Assists in accurate recording of payroll data.
Requirements:
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent required. One year post high school courses in business preferred.
Experience:
Experience in the health care field. Hospital experience preferred.
Excellent communication (verbal, written, listening) skills. Multi-line telephone skills. Demonstrates ability in technical and analytical functions, knowledge of computer applications preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong background in high-volume Accounts Payable including approvals, tracking, invoice booking, and payment processing
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and complex accounting structures, including multi-entity and grant accounting environments
  • Experience working within automated accounting systems and advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies independently
  • Prior experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or grant-funded environments preferred

Job Summary:

The RN Charge Nurse, Urgent Care is responsible for directing and overseeing the daily activities of the Urgent Care Center on an assigned shift to assure the delivery of efficient, safe and quality patient care. The RN Charge Nurse is a caregiver who takes a patient care assignment. They practice in a clinical environment that is administered by managers, supervisors, and other nursing leaders. The framework for practice is steered by the Wellstar Professional Nursing Practice Model and evidence-based practice and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by the Wellstar Core Competencies. The RN Charge Nurse, Urgent Care is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. Expectations of practice include: accountability; responsibility and authority for the practice of nursing; effective teamwork; delegation; communication; respect; personal development; and development of team members. Exemplary Practice and Outcomes Monitors the patient tracking board and rounds on patients to coordinate patient flow and evaluate quality and appropriateness of patient care in the urgent care setting including corrective action when needed, utilizing peer coaching. Performs or provides oversight for the Nursing Process (assessment; diagnosis; identification of outcomes; planning; implementation and evaluation) in the performance of clinical care using evidence based practice; analytical/critical thinking, ensuring that care is individualized; coordinating care through effective partnerships; caring is central to achieve optimal patient care outcomes. Provides oversight for relationship based and patient-centered care delivery by partnering with the patient and significant others (as appropriate) using appropriate communication tools and making the patients goals the focus of the plan of care. Practices using current clinical practice standards with a focus on quality and safety. Resources and Support Monitors equipment inventory, location and utilization to ensure staff have tools and equipment needed to perform their job. Participates in planning and requesting resources for providing high quality care and assists in acquiring appropriate staffing during unexpected staffing shortages or surges in practice volume. Proactively plans for the care of patients across the care continuum in the course of giving direct patient care. Makes daily staff assignments to coordinate patient flow. Coordinates emergency response/rapid response assignments and documents all emergency events and/or drills.
