Senior Litigation Counsel
Salary not disclosed
Manhattan, NY 1 week ago

A nationally recognized, midsize litigation firm is seeking a Team Lead Attorney for its Midtown Manhattan office. This is a fully in-office leadership role within a firm that is considered a leader in its space, with a founding partner who is a prominent national voice on the subject matter the firm exclusively handles.

This is not a traditional personal injury role, but it is PI-adjacent litigation involving high-impact, high-stakes civil matters. The work sits at the intersection of complex civil litigation and meaningful advocacy — truly the definition of doing well by doing good.

About the Role

The Team Lead Attorney will:

  • Oversee and manage a docket of complex civil litigation matters
  • Supervise and mentor associates and litigation staff
  • Drive case strategy from intake through resolution or trial
  • Handle depositions, motion practice, and court appearances
  • Work closely with firm leadership on case development and growth of the NYC office
  • Ensure strong organizational systems, deadline management, and case progression

This is a hands-on leadership role. The ideal candidate is both a strong litigator and a steady team builder.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of civil litigation experience required
  • Strong preference for plaintiff-side experience
  • Additional strong preference for personal injury experience
  • Significant deposition and motion practice experience
  • Trial experience is a plus
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior attorneys
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage a high-volume docket
  • Comfort working in a fully in-office, collaborative environment

Again, while the practice area is adjacent to personal injury, this is not a traditional auto/trucking/products PI position. The litigation is more specialized and mission-driven in nature.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary up to $300,000+
  • Annual performance bonuses typically ranging from $20,000–$50,000 (and can exceed that based on performance)
  • 100% employer-paid healthcare coverage
  • 401(k) with 5% match
  • Fully in-office position in Midtown Manhattan

Why This Role

  • Midsize national firm with strong infrastructure
  • Leadership opportunity in a growing NYC office
  • Work that is mission-driven and impactful
  • Founding partner widely recognized as a leading national voice in the field
  • Opportunity to build, mentor, and shape a team

This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned civil litigator who wants meaningful work, leadership responsibility, and top-tier compensation within a firm that is both high-performing and purpose-driven.
