The Emergency Department at Duke University Hospital is comprised an 18 bed Pediatric ED, three adult care areas, two fully equipped x-ray rooms and two state of the art dedicated CT scanners, a 7,000 square foot ambulance bay, 8 bed psychiatric emergency unit, and an 11 bed clinical evaluation unit.   • In collaboration with attending physician(s), provides direct clinical services for critically ill patients according to established protocols and utilizing evidence-based clinical practice standards.

Job Details: Coverage: This position offers PRN coverage on an ongoing basis, providing flexibility to accommodate your schedule.

Specialties Accepted: We welcome physicians with backgrounds in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, and other relevant fields.

Coverage Options: You have the choice to travel and conduct exams at a VES leased facility or schedule veterans within your own practice.

Shift Options: Choose between half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts based on your availability and preferences.

Examination Details: Conduct one-time non-treatment C&P exams and separation health assessments.

These exams primarily involve interviews with some physical assessments, including range of motion testing and muscle strength testing.

No prescribing or treatment is involved.

Credentialing and Onboarding: Benefit from quick credentialing and onboarding processes to expedite your entry into the role.

Requirements: Familiarity with Musculoskeletal, Diabetes, and Cardio conditions is required.

Proficiency in METs testing and evaluating respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions is essential.

Own a personal laptop (no MACs) for documentation purposes.

Training will be provided for all Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs).

Evaluation completion and record review will be done through the VES's provider portal.

Follow-up administrative work may be required regularly, including addendums, medical opinions, and reading diagnostics.
