Job Summary:
Seeking a Quality Manager to lead quality operations at a manufacturing facility in Holland, Michigan. This role is responsible for advanced quality planning, supplier quality assurance, testing laboratories, customer complaints, product submissions, and implementing lean techniques. The Quality Manager will oversee the department, ensure compliance with quality standards, and work closely with operations to improve product quality and process capability.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises personnel who have continuous interactions with customers and product design
- Takes a leadership role in ISO 9001/2000 and ISO 17025 compliance
- Directs, implements, and maintains operational-level strategies and objectives and monitors performance against plan
- Manages, monitors, and controls material, labor, and overhead costs in respective areas

Required qualifications:

- 10+ years of diverse professional and managerial experience in a manufacturing environment, including automotive experience
- Experience with budgets, strategic decision-making, and leading teams
- Experience leading teams and managing quality systems and departmental budgets
- Hands-on experience with PPAP, APQP, and Control Plans
- Demonstrated employee relationship and management skills to develop, lead, support, and motivate a cohesive, world-class quality assurance team

POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the design, documentation, and improvement of products and manufacturing processes. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to help translate concepts into manufacturable designs while ensuring products are built efficiently and to high quality standards. This role offers the opportunity to develop CAD drawings, create technical documentation, assist with manufacturing tooling and fixtures, and collaborate with the production team to solve real-world engineering challenges on the factory floor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and update 2D and 3D CAD drawings.
- Develop technical documentation such as work instructions, quality plans, and engineering documentation for internal and external use.
- Assist in building manufacturing and welding fixtures according to engineering drawings.
- Collaborate with manufacturing team members to troubleshoot and solve production challenges.
- Provide hands-on support on the production floor when needed.
- Assist engineering team with continuous improvement and product development activities.

Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, setting up, modifying, optimizing, and monitoring manufacturing processes within the assigned facility. This role focuses on improving production efficiency, product quality, automation systems, and overall operational performance while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and new equipment launches.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manufacturing Process Development
- Evaluate and understand key manufacturing processes from production, quality, and automation perspectives.
- Analyze manufacturing operations to identify process improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency opportunities.
- Conduct cycle time studies to identify production bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
- Monitor manufacturing performance and recommend process optimization strategies.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement (CI) initiatives aimed at improving plant safety, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and product quality.
- Identify and prioritize manufacturing problems and improvement opportunities.
- Apply structured problem-solving methodologies such as Six Sigma, 8D, and root cause analysis.
Equipment and Capital Projects
- Support new equipment launch initiatives including:
- RFQ preparation
- Supplier selection and evaluation
- Design reviews
- Equipment buy-off and validation
- Installation and commissioning
- Evaluate and identify cost-saving opportunities in production processes and equipment utilization.
Maintenance and Systems Collaboration
- Work closely with the maintenance team to implement and optimize a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to identify reliability improvements and implement CI initiatives.

The Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) Department in Tucson, AZ is a multi-discipline organization responsible for designing, building and integrating state of the art testing environments (flight simulators for missiles), as the last step before flight test. On our team, you will work with weapon system designers to understand requirements, design solutions, integrate, and deploy the systems to help support tactical software development, testing, and delivery for missiles to the warfighter.
Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team to develop software to control Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) facilities (flight simulators for missiles).
Determines end user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition. Ensures hardware and software standards are met.
Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and use.
Software design, coding and integration in a real-time environment.
May train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other STEM related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience with software development in C++, using the object-oriented features.
