WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes, tools, equipment, and work activities, to meet and exceed the company's safety, quality, delivery, and costobjectivesby leading improvement projects andfacilitatingKaizen/Lean events.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING

  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team or project group by setting clear goals, delegating tasks effectively, providing regular feedback/coaching, leading by example, and fostering a positive work environment. Military service (Junior Military Officer or Senior Non-Commission Officer) a plus.

  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of industrial, manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, project, or related technical experience. For Entry Level, this can include internship, Co-op, apprentices, military service, or similar programs.

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer will support the development, validation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to ensure products meet quality, performance, cost, and delivery requirements. This role serves as a key technical link between Engineering, Operations, and Production, with a strong focus on part number creation, Bill of Materials (BOM) management, and manufacturing documentation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities


ERP, BOM & Documentation Management

  • Create and maintain part numbers, BOMs, and routings in ERP system
  • Ensure ERP data accuracy to support production, scheduling, and material planning
  • Partner with Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations on engineering changes and updates
  • Audit manufacturing data to prevent production delays or cost issues
  • Create and maintain installation guides and work instructions using SolidWorks Composer


Manufacturing & Process Support

  • Develop, validate, and sustain manufacturing processes for new and existing products
  • Provide daily technical support to Production and Manufacturing teams
  • Troubleshoot production, quality, and performance issues and lead corrective actions
  • Support production launches, including process documentation, material readiness, and system setup
  • Communicate shop floor issues to scheduling and operations teams


Engineering Change & Continuous Improvement

  • Respond to shop floor questions and provide technical clarifications
  • Initiate and manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)
  • Evaluate and implement process improvements that align with quality and engineering standards
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and structured problem-solving tools (5 Why, 8D, Six Sigma)


Tooling & Quality

  • Design and support jigs and fixtures in collaboration with Welding and Production teams

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering field.

  • 1-2 years of experience using SolidWorks, with working knowledge of SolidWorks Composer.
  • Extensive knowledge of GD&T and tolerance standards for SolidWorks drawings.

Job Summary

Based on Department established priorities, provides support services in the areas of prisoner transport, prisoner care and custody, alternative sentencing methods, the taking of crime reports, calls for assistance of a non-criminal nature, records data entry and other activities within the Department.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Receives into custody persons arrested by officers, completes arrest reports, fingerprints and photographs the subject, and maintains custody in the Kirkland Police Department jail. Facilitates alternative sentencing programs.
  • Transports arrested subjects to and from court or to other detention facilities.
  • Coordination of court appearances and schedules.

Essential Duties:

  • Booking of prisoners, includes input data, fingerprinting, photographing, searching, inventory and storing of personal effects.
  • Interviews all in-custody subjects and screens for medical, psychological, and behavioral issues resulting in incarceration in another facility.
  • Attends to personal bedding, hygiene needs, and medical needs of inmates as necessary.
  • Arranges court appearances and schedules.
  • Provides transports (e.g. court, detention center, dentist visits, doctor appointments, and emergency room).
  • Orders and prepares meals for prisoners and other items needed by prisoners.
  • Work Release. This includes subject interview, evaluation, receipt processing (if applicable), monitoring of payments, booking procedure, work schedule set-up, equipment application, and compliance monitoring.
  • Responsible for Electronic Home Detention (EHD). This includes subject interview, evaluation, receipt processing (if applicable), monitoring of payments, booking procedure, work schedule set-up, equipment application, and compliance monitoring.
  • Day Detention. This includes initial processing and monitoring of compliance throughout the days of court-ordered detention.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Keeps the booking and cell area clean and supplied with necessary forms, inmate supplies, and equipment within the jail area.
  • Conducts regular maintenance inspections of Corrections vehicles and ensures that necessary equipment is in each vehicle. Completes a written record of all inspections.
  • Provides traffic control, upon request, to assist the Patrol and Traffic Divisions when authorized by the Lieutenant, in support of special events.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in jail, court, community, and police department settings as well as driving motor vehicles. The employee is not armed unless working outside of the facility (conducting transports or Kirkland Municipal Court duties) and holds a limited commission to serve warrants. A Corrections Officer is required to wear a uniform in the performance of all duties.

  • Provide technical support to manufacturing in areas requiring problem resolution, planning changes, process enhancements, and the identification of cost-effective process alterations.
  • Communicate requirements and provide technical assistance to subcontractors.
  • Perform root cause investigations and recommend preventative action(s) for identified manufacturing nonconformances. Communicate investigation to upper management personnel. Implement preventative actions and track effectiveness, when necessary.
  • Mentor less experienced Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Complete special assignments, as necessary.


Education/Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Some exposure to heavy manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Excellent computer skills are required. Must have a thorough working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Project. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software is required. CNC programming experience is preferred.

  • Familiarity with medical coding and medical terminology, demonstrated business writing proficiency, understanding of provider networks, the medical management process, claims process, all of the company's internal business processes, and internal local technology strongly preferred.
