The Department of Population Health and Disease Prevention in the Joe C.

Wen School of Population & Public Health at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for a full-time Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor-in-Residence.

The mission of the Department is to generate, integrate, and translate population-based knowledge into strategies to reduce the risk and burden of human disease and disability through excellence in interdisciplinary research, education, and service.

The DPHDP is a focus of excellence in cross-disciplinary public health research, education, and practice at UCI.

DPHDP faculty have strong expertise in global health and infectious disease, biological and behavioral mechanisms of health and illness, cancer survivorship, nutrition science, and population-based interventions.

Preferred candidates will have scholarship that strongly complements a departmental area of focus.

Some examples include research in the areas of nutrition science (e.g., nutrition and aging), global health (e.g., sustainability research, antimicrobrial resistance), or biobehavioral research (e.g., salivary bioscience, inflammation and chronic illness).

Faculty in the In-Residence Professor series are appointed based on contributions in teaching and mentoring, research, University and public service, professional competence, and/or creative activities.

This is an Academic Senate position.

Duties will include: β€’ Conduct independent and collaborative health-focused research funded by extramural sources in alignment with the departmental mission.

β€’ Contribute to undergraduate and/graduate-level teaching and mentoring in accordance with departmental teaching expectations.

Duty Locations

Duties and Responsibilities

Typical assignments include:Β 

  • Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and custom laws and inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations
  • Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers of noncitizens at or near the borders by maintaining surveillance from covert positions to include using infrared scopes during night operations
  • Interpreting and following tracks, marks, and other physical evidence of illegal entry of persons or contraband
  • Performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, and transportation checks
  • Patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways using a variety of government assets such as vehicles, horses, vessels, watercraft, off-road vehicles, ATVs, snowmobiles, and motorcycles for the accomplishment of the USBP Mission.

Qualifications

You qualify for the GL-5 grade level if you possess one of the following:Β 

Experience: One (1) year of general work experience that demonstrates the ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and maintain composure in stressful situations; to learn regulations, methods, and techniques through classroom training and/or on-the-job instruction; and the ability to gather concise information through questioning, observation, and examination of documents and records; ORΒ 

Education Substitution: A bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; ORΒ 

Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of general work experience AND successfully completed college education. This will be calculated using your resume and official or unofficial transcripts submitted with your application.Β 

You qualify for the GL-7 grade level if you possess one of the following:Β 

Experience: One year of specialized work experience that shows you have the skills necessary to:Β 

  • Make sound judgments and decisions in the use of firearms.
  • Deal effectively with people in a courteous and tactful manner in connection with law enforcement matters.
  • Analyze information rapidly and make prompt decisions where you will be expected to make arrests after the completion of required training and apply these skills in a law enforcement capacity such as criminal code enforcement, determining violations of laws, correctional or rehabilitation work involving criminal offenders, security, military, etc.

The above experience will be applied in connection with the following: Make arrests and exercise sound judgment in the use of firearms; deal effectively with people in a courteous manner in connection with law enforcement matters; analyze information rapidly and make prompt decisions; or develop and maintain contact with a network of informants.

Education Substitution for the GL-7 grade level: A bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement, which is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average (i.e., GPA of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0), or (3) honor society membership. Or will receive a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement. Or one full year of graduate-level education in a field of study related to law enforcement (e.g., criminal justice, homeland security, justice studies, law enforcement, courts and judicial systems, forensic technology, forensic psychology, or corrections and rehabilitation) from an accredited college or university;Β ORΒ

Client is seeking a high-level Payroll Tax Expert and Project Leader to spearhead a critical remediation effort." This is not a "strategy-only" role; we need a hands-on "solver" who can diagnose complex state payroll tax discrepancies, navigate the aftermath of FEIN retirements, and execute the literal cleanup required to get the organization back into good standing across approximately 13 state jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities Β· Tax Remediation & Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and resolve a myriad of state payroll tax issues resulting from the retirement of the FEIN and the transition of employees to Client entities.

Β· Project Leadership: Act as the primary "thought leader" for the cleanup project, moving beyond assessment to take direct action and execute filings/corrections.

Β· Cross-Functional Partnership: Work in tandem with Corporate Tax, Legal, and HROps to secure Power of Attorney (POA) for specific jurisdictions and ensure all filings are legally and financially aligned.

Β· System & Portal Management: Access and navigate various state-specific tax portals to pull historical data, investigate notices, and resolve discrepancies.

THE PURPOSE:

The Specialist, Sales Operations – International serves as the operational lead and right-hand partner to the Sales Operations Manager, supporting the strategic execution of international wholesale operations. This role owns end-to-end order management, drives cross-functional coordination, and proactively identifies risks and opportunities to maximize revenue, compliance, and customer satisfaction.


THE ROLE:

  • Manage end-to-end order processing for international wholesale and distributor accounts from order entry through final shipment
  • Serve as a primary operational point of contact for Sales, customers, and cross-functional partners
  • Drive daily communication with customers and Sales to address inventory needs, order changes, and account maintenance
  • Run and analyze forecast, fulfillment, and risk reports to support revenue targets and planning decisions
  • Partner with Planning to align inventory supply and demand and proactively flag risks and mitigation strategies
  • Coordinate with Logistics, Production, and DC teams to ensure timely, compliant shipments aligned with customer guides and requirements
  • Assess financial and operational risk within the order base, including RTVs, swaps, cancellations, defects, and dilution targets, and recommend action plans
  • Oversee inventory allocation and transfers across multiple virtual and physical warehouses to optimize fulfillment
  • Manage customer portals end-to-end, including PO validation, ASN issuance, labeling, compliance documentation, and ongoing requirements
  • Drive weekly and ad hoc reporting to cross-functional stakeholders with clear insights and recommendations
  • Act as a key operational partner to multiple domestic and international distribution centers
  • Provide guidance, troubleshooting, and escalation support for complex operational issues
  • Support data entry and transactional work as needed during peak periods


YOU ARE:

ADDITIONAL ROLE INFORMATION:
