In addition to providing emergency medical response and firefighting services to citizens, the Fire Department also provides technical rescue training to first responders across the country, comprehensive fire safety engineering plan review and inspection services to Chula Vista's business community, and provides fire and life safety education and outreach to City residents.

ABOUT THE POSITION
Under supervision, responds to fire alarms, emergency medical calls, and other emergency calls to protect life and property; participates in fire training, fire prevention, public education, and station and equipment maintenance activities; operates a paramedic unit in response to medical emergencies and provides definitive medical care; and performs related duties as required.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Receives supervision from an assigned Fire Captain.  Receives direction through San Diego County EMS protocols and from the Battalion Chief, EMS Educator and Medical Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Functions may include, but are not limited to, the following: respond to alarms involving fire, all types of accidents, gas leaks, flooded structures, hazardous substances, and lifesaving and rescue work to perform emergency medical services; perform first aid and lifesaving duties; render emergency medical aid examining and assessing victims, communicating vital medical data to medical and/or fire personnel and administering medical treatment in accordance within established guidelines and/or at the specific instruction of base hospital medical personnel; support and assist other fire and medical personnel as directed on medical calls; operate a paramedic vehicle safely; treat and transport patients in accordance with San Diego County Emergency Medical Services protocol and department policy; perform primary and secondary medical physical assessments of patients; perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation; maintain an effective airway for patients with compromised breathing; administer advanced life support drug therapy within established guidelines and/or at the specific instruction of base hospital medical personnel; operate heart monitoring and defibrillation equipment; operate radios, telephones and other communications equipment in order communicate medical information to base hospital medical personnel or other fire personnel; prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports such as controlled drug inventory, equipment and station logs, NFIRS, and EMS reports; serve as a preceptor for paramedic and emergency medical technician trainees; perform building and grounds maintenance; clean, service, inspect and test motor driven equipment including ambulances; study fire department rules, regulations and procedures; operate computer related equipment and software applications related to assignment; may operate an ambulance; may assist in conducting hydrant maintenance or routine inspections; may participate in physical fitness program; build and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with co-workers, other City employees, personnel from a wide range of outside agencies, other colleagues in the field, and the public; perform related duties as assigned.

Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade. An Associate’s degree in Fire Science or Paramedicine is highly desirable.

  • Possession of a valid license as an EMT-P with the State of California is required at time of application and must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.

Job Summary

To provide instructional, recruiting and organizational expertise for the Men's Basketball program at Georgia Tech, supporting the Head Coach in building an environment that inspires and empowers student-athletes to be champions in academics, competition, and life.



Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Coach in evaluating individual and team strengths and developing strategies for skill improvement.
  • Support the Head Coach with all games, scrimmages, and practices.
  • Support the Head Coach in providing appropriate discipline for student-athletes for violations of team rules or Georgia Tech and Association regulations, or conduct impacting upon team matters, team policies or the reputation of Georgia Tech and the Association.
  • Assist the Head Coach and support staff in planning and supervising programs for player training, conditioning, and drug education and testing.
  • Assist the Head Coach in recommending students for athletic grant-in-aid scholarships from Georgia Tech.
  • Assist the Head Coach with the recruitment of student-athletes for the Men's Basketball program.
  • Direct Men's Basketball program student-athletes to the appropriate resources for assistance regarding financial aid, academic advisement, and general student needs provided by Georgia Tech or the Association.
  • Assist the Head Coach and support staff with providing appropriate program safety requirements.
  • Promote an atmosphere of compliance within the Men's Basketball program, Cooperate with the Association compliance office regarding NCAA rules and policies, including reporting requirements. Make a determined effort to utilize available compliance resources.
  • Support the Head Coach and Association administration in monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes to facilitate pursuit of a baccalaureate degree.
  • Participate in public relations and promotions for the Men's Basketball program as assigned, and support the Communications and Public Relations department in the preparation of Men's Basketball program materials and resources.
  • Partner with The Alexander-Tharpe Fund as needed in fundraising efforts to support the Men's Basketball program, Georgia Tech, and the Association, including encouraging contributions.
  • Assist the Head Coach in overseeing the preparation and update of the equipment inventory for the Men's Basketball program in partnership with the equipment manager.
  • Assist the Head Coach with expending operational resources budgeted to the Men's Basketball program in a manner consistent with Georgia Tech and Association policies.
  • Represent Georgia Tech the Association as requested with efforts and initiatives involving Georgia Tech partners, including the Alexander-Tharpe Fund and Alumni Association, and with intercollegiate athletics organizations such as the NCAA and ACC.
  • Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with key internal and external constituents.

• The SLP is integrated into the Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery (OTO-HNS) clinic and has a hands-on role in the clinical and instrumental evaluation of patients.

The SLP frequently works in tandem with fellowship-trained Laryngologist and Head & Neck Oncologic Surgeons.

• The SLP engages in collaborative and longitudinal care of patients with voice/swallow/airway disorders, providing comprehensive therapy while promoting best-practices in patient care.

• The SLP plays a role in advancing the field of speech language pathology through teaching (graduate students from the KU SLP program and OTO-HNS residents) and opportunities to participate in clinical research Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions Evaluate and treat patients referred to laryngology services for voice/swallow/airway concerns.

Obtaining a detailed case history.

Obtaining objective measures and psychoacoustic judgments of phonatory ability.c.

Administering and interpreting acoustic analysis for documentation of vocal parameters.d.

Administering and interpreting videolaryngostroboscopic, videonasoendoscopic, FEES and modified barium video swallow evaluationse.

Provide pre- and post-treatment swallowing evaluation for patients undergoing surgical or medical treatment (chemoradiation) of head and neck cancer.b.

Provide post-treatment dysphagia therapy for patients requiring rehabilitation after treatment for head and neck cancer.c.

Provide pre-operative education and counseling for patients undergoing laryngectomy and establish a plan of care for post-operative alaryngeal speech restoration, to include use of electrolarynx, esophageal speech and tracheoesophageal prosthesis (TEP).d.

Evaluate, manage and replace TEP voice prostheses Advocate for patients undergoing treatment for rehabilitation of voice/swallow/airway disorders and interact on the patient's behalf with physicians, nurses, employers, etca.

Interpret evaluation results for patients, their families and medical staff and make appropriate recommendations for management and treatment.b.

Develop appropriate goals for each patient, and design and execute a therapeutic program to meet these goals.

Couples Therapy Training in Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), or other evidence-based couples modalities. Experience with communication patterns, infidelity recovery, premarital work, attachment wounds, and helping partners move from conflict to connection.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Designer to provide technical fit expertise across women’s and men’s sleepwear and accessories. This role will be responsible for establishing and maintaining garment fit standards, developing technical specifications, and ensuring consistency in construction and grading across core and seasonal styles.

Key Responsibilities:

Fit & Block Development
