Position Summary
Coordinates admissions services and communication for resident care, organizes physician orders, takes nursing histories, administers medications, observes patients, and documents assessments. Adjusts care plans based on resident needs and leads education initiatives. Models professionalism, implements policies, participates in training, and utilizes interpersonal skills to enhance staff motivation and collaboration with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Essential Job Functions
• Coordinates the services of the admissions department with physicians for the most comprehensive resident care.
• Establishes and maintains a communication process with all resident care, and for smooth operations of admitting, discharge, and transfer.
• Receives physician orders for direct admissions and organizes the admission process for residents.
• Obtains a nursing history and takes appropriate actions.
• Reviews results of procedures and communications with physicians.

• Maintains awareness of the comfort and safety needs of residents.
• Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of resident’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
• Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess the conditions of the resident.
• Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
• Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned residents. Describes care plan goals and approaches to direct care staff so that the care plan is consistently implemented on all shifts by all caregivers. Seeks input from nurse aides about resident condition, functional abilities, preferences, and alternative approaches to care.
• Performs physical assessment of new admissions and current residents as indicated by changes in condition or as required by regulation. Completes assigned sections of the resident assessment instruments used in the facility.
• Modifies approaches in plan of care to accommodate resident needs and preferences, to manage risk factors for functional decline, and to improve functional abilities.
• Initiates a resident education plan according to the individualized needs of the resident, as prescribed by the physician and/or nursing home policy, including resident and family instruction.
• Serves as a role model to all staff (responsiveness to other departments, courtesy in all interactions, timeliness in reporting to work, and productivity during the workday, respectfulness in staff-to-staff interactions and staff-to-resident interactions).
• Interprets and implements personnel policies, fire and disaster plans, policies, procedures, principles of safety, and nursing objectives for nursing personnel.
• Assists in planning and participates in the in-service education program, including personnel orientation and on-the-job training.
• Organizational and interpersonal skills to assign, motivate staff, elicit work output, improve quality, and interact effectively with residents, families, interdisciplinary team members, administration, government officials, consultants, and others, in addition to staff.
Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current, active license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin.
• Demonstrated competency in clinical skills needed for the facility resident population.
• Demonstrated competency in physical, behavioral, and functional capacity assessment of long-term care residents.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations relevant to skilled nursing facilities.
• Able to understand and follow written and verbal directions. Able to express self adequately, accurately in written and/or oral communication (including documentation in clinical records) with direct care staff, interdisciplinary team members, administration, and government officials.

As a member of the US/Canada EHS Team, the Tuscaloosa Plant EHS Manager will be responsible for managing and sustaining the EHS management system, driving EHS performance , analyzing and finding trends to drive action.
The Role
Your work will include, but not be limited to:
- Ensure execution of EHS policies, providing guidance on program feasibility, and implementing EH&S corporate directives and guidelines for locations within responsibility.
- Partner with and influence all departments, Operations, ensuring their needs are supported and coordinated with EHS requirements, guidance, and best practices.

- Establish, implement, manage & sustain the EHSMS (ISO14001 & ISO45001). Guide initiative-taking plans to identify and control risks.
- Establish relationships with regional governmental agencies, as appropriate; interact and negotiate with governmental entities on behalf of the company.
- Ensure injured worker information is submitted to the Third-Party Administrator (TPA) in a timely manner. Interact with the TPA and medical community to gain an understanding of the status of claims. Interact with plant management to ensure an effective Return to Work program. Create workers’ compensation user control reports on a periodic basis. Maintain the OSHA 300 log and ensure injuries/illnesses are accurately logged.
- Ensure the implementation and management of Ergonomic, Sustainability and Continuous Improvement programs to boost the EHS culture.
- Manage the By Product Management Program to assure the right disposition of all by products (waste materials).
- Ensure legal and corporate requirement compliance when opening/closing a plant.
- Coordinate budget planning to ensure needed capital and expense funding is included in the businesses operating plan.

Wordings:
* Primary focus is on drafting policy wordings and endorsements to support business/underwriting objectives of the assigned Specialty Risks team/focus group.
* Assist the focus groups in addressing coverage issues raised in the underwriting and negotiation process to assist in successful closing of business opportunities.
* Assist the focus groups in achieving sales and service goals by providing high quality and timely response to queries raised.
* Providing support on underwriting, product development, and coverage issues.

The School of Information at the University of California, Berkeley, invites applications for a pool of part-time, non-tenure track lecturers to teach on-campus courses in the Master of Information Management and Systems. Opus Genetics is committed to building an innovative, efficient and sustainable science based and commercial ophthalmic biopharmaceutical company leading the development of transformative gene therapies for the treatment of inherited retinal diseases (IRDs) and therapies to treat patients with other retinal and refractive disorders.
Job Summary:
The Director of Process Development and Manufacturing will be the technical lead for development and manufacturing of assigned assets within the Opus gene therapy programs focusing on technical transfer and process development and execution supporting product development and manufacturing to achieve company goals and strategies. This includes working collaboratively with external partners (i.e. CDMOs, contract labs, suppliers) to develop technical studies, analyze complex data, make data driven decisions, and author, review, and approve technical and regulatory documents. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical understanding of AAV gene therapy upstream and downstream development and process optimization. This role will directly interact with the CDMO/contract partners and be responsible for building and maintaining excellent working relationships. Knowledge of manufacturing platforms, consistent with AAV technology, at scales ranging from process development through GMP and PPQ activities. The candidate will be hands-on and expected to provide content to all these areas.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Work with Opus CDMO/contract manufacturing and laboratory partners to develop a phase appropriate robust manufacturing program to support the process development and engineering of pre commercial and commercial cGMP material to support pre-clinical studies, clinical trials, and commercial supply.
· Support, author, and review/approve manufacturing plans and documentation including technical transfer, batch records and documentation, product specifications, stability programs, bridging and comparability studies, and other reports utilizing phase appropriate QbD best practices.
· Support, author, and review/approve manufacturing documentation including testing records, certificates of testing/analysis, campaign summary reports, investigations, etc.
· Support, author, and review/approve regulatory documentation including pINDs, INDs, agency responses, CMC meeting requests and briefing packages, and BLAs.
· Ensure proper reference standard material is in place, tested, and released for each product. Lead technology transfer between sites.
· Ensure regulatory requirements are in place to support manufacturing campaigns with respect to Master Cell Banks, Plasmids, Drug Substances, Drug Products, and Diluents, to prevent developmental delays and or interruptions to clinical programs or regulatory filings.
· Perform the role of person in plant as needed at the Opus CDMO/contract manufacturing partner’s sites. Act as the CMC expert during audits and interactions with regulatory agencies.
· Manage work to project plans for multiple gene therapy programs in the preclinical, pre-IND, IND/clinical, and commercial stages.
· Identify and lead the resolution of operational and functional level challenges, work with program and/or function managers to escalate issues to senior management.
· Hands on resolution to issues/content generation. Design effective and high-quality presentations and progress reports, as requested.

Education and Experience:
· Master’s degree (minimum) from an accredited institution in a science or health-related field with minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Ophthalmology experience is preferred.
· Additionally, a minimum of 5 years of direct manufacturing experience for biopharmaceuticals. Preference will be given for direct AAV gene therapy experience. Previous CDMO/contract lab experience also preferred.
· Experience designing and executing technical transfer and scale up campaigns and associated documentation.
· Experience in writing and reviewing regulatory submissions including pINDs, INDs, Meeting Requests/Briefing Packages, Annual Report/DSUR’s, and BLAs.
· Experience with FDA and/or other regulatory agency requirements and interactions.
· Strong skill set in interacting with multidisciplinary teams for preclinical and clinical development. Clear understanding of the drug development process with experience in multiple phases.
· Experience with Orphan/Rare Disease programs, and/or Fast Track/Breakthrough Therapy is a plus.
· Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence across all levels of a cross-functional team without direct managerial authority. Experience in risk assessment, negotiation, and problem solving/mitigation.
· Outstanding interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form, with effective time management skills needed to manage multiple ongoing projects simultaneously.
· Demonstrated advanced computer software proficiency (Word, Excel, Smartsheet’s, PowerPoint, etc.).

- This is a remote field-based position that will cover the east coast. (Maine to Florida). Candidates should live in close proximity to a large airport hub within that geography.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Function as the primary medical point of contact in geographic area.
- Maintain clinical and scientific, expertise in oncology with specific focus in standards of care related to the treatment of ALK + NSCLC.
