Overview: Ouray County is soliciting applications for the position of Deputy County Attorney. This position, under general direction of the County Attorney, assists in providing in-house legal advice, representation, and civil legal services to the Board of County Commissioners, County Manager, Elected or Appointed Officials, and County Departments. The Kings County District Attorney's Office (the "Office") is seeking an experienced and motivated attorney to join its Civil Litigation Unit and FOIL Unit. Like any large public institution, the Office is regularly involved in civil lawsuits and civil litigation-related matters that require the skill and judgment of a dedicated in-house litigation team. In addition, the Office responds to a high volume of subpoenas and Freedom of Information Law ("FOIL") requests, many of which result in contested litigation.

Seeking a Litigation Attorney for our Orange County office. Responsible for all aspects of case management, with the exception of presenting cases at trial and arbitration. An experienced attorney with in-depth knowledge of medicine, law and issues related to medical malpractice litigation with the skill to develop effective case strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with the trial attorney and actively participates in:
- Formulating discovery and investigation strategy
- Obtaining concurrence with Claims Specialist on defense preparation
- Preparing pleadings
- Preparing and responding to discovery
- Attending court appearances

Share knowledge and information with all attorneys
Ensure cost effective work-up and overall defense of assignments
