We are seeking an experienced sourcing manager to join our Procurement team as a "Sourcing Strategy Manager, Protein". In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies to improve our cost structure, the quality of our products, the reliability of our supply chain, and will play a leading role in supporting innovation through new product development. Overview

Executes purchasing, sourcing, and supply operations, using AI-enabled tools and large data sets to drive data-informed purchasing, demand planning, and inventory decisions that support margin, inventory turn, and supply reliability within approved guardrails.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather quotes and product details as requested by Sales, Merchandising or marketplace team for resourcing and new product onboarding, utilizing the approved vendor network, sourcing platforms, and supplier marketplaces
• Align and communicate with cross-functional stakeholders including Amazon/marketplace teams on demand projections, timing, and launch strategy
• Complete new item and kit setup in the ERP system and ensure all required supplier and warehouse information is communicated to cross-functional teams to support multi-channel onboarding.

About the Role

The Strategic Sourcing Manager will lead strategic Industrial Construction and Facilities Engineering sourcing projects for new and existing sites across Ross' supply chain network. Their primary goals will be to help Ross mitigate risks, procure materials, equipment and services at the best value and be a strategic advisor to internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Drive Strategic Sourcing and Sourcing Process Execution
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for Industrial Construction categories (e.g., steel structures, concrete, MEP systems, site services, etc.) and Facilities Maintenance categories (e.g., conveyor systems, fork trucks, racking, etc.). Analyze historical data to determine the highest risk and cost categories.
• Partner with Property Development, Engineering, Project Management, Legal, Risk Management and Finance teams to understand project needs. Manage expectations and set achievable milestones to arrive at the agreed upon goal.
• Develop and manage sourcing project timelines and lead socialization meetings. Update stakeholders regularly on project progress, risks and mitigation strategies.

• Create presentations to communicate findings and vendor recommendations to stakeholders, to help with decision making.

• Support the Facilities Engineering team with sourcing requirements for Material Handling Equipment (MHE) repair, refurbishment and replacement.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Supply Chain, Construction Management, Business, Economics, Finance or Engineering (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years category management / strategic sourcing experience in Industrial Construction and Facilities Engineering. Multiple Construction and Engineering sourcing category experience preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of program or project management experience in a cross functional environment (technical and non-technical teams).
• Strong knowledge of corporate finance - budgeting, cash flow, P/L statements, balance sheets.
• Strong experience with construction cost estimating and budgeting as well as working with raw material / market indices and determining fair purchase prices.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with Construction Management Software such as Procore, as well as Sourcing / Contract Management Software such as Coupa.
• Familiarity with LEED, OSHA, and other regulatory frameworks.

Pay range and compensation package

The base salary range for this role is $108,800 - $165,950. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. • Assist/Manage the merchandise sourcing & production of select product categories in partnership with the Sourcing Manager.
• Partner on vendor strategy, product costing/placement, manage vendor communication and production management related to designated product categories
• Responsible for ensuring products meet established standards for safety and quality including monitoring quarterly Product Review Requests (PRRs) with product integrity partners
• Manage Development Tracking Reports (DTRS), sample tracking and approval processes throughout each development season
• Manage the workflow for data entry task Supplier Set Ups, price changes, financial roadmaps, and invoicing, and all Product Lifecycle Management data entry
• Contact vendors to follow-up and verify the accuracy of provided data, resolve routine issues and ensure vendor alignment with company processes and procedures
• Follow up with vendor communication regarding any outstanding samples (Approval, PP/TOP, etc.)
• Liaise with vendors and ticket/label suppliers to ensure company guidelines are followed to avoid late deliveries and charge backs due to non-compliance
• Ensure all items are completed within PLM system to ensure on-time PO issuance
• Schedule and participate Production Handoff to the Responsible Sourcing and Production team at the end of each costing season
• Prepare standard any ad-hoc reports as requested (Time and Action Calendars, production timelines, status updates, etc.)
• Build strong collaborative relationships with internal and external partners
• Attend weekly cross-functional meetings and quarterly product line review meetings to understand key sourcing issues and action items
• Communicate production status to global and regional partners during weekly cross-functional meetings as required
  

• 1+ years related experience, preferably in specialty retail or consumer products
• Associate degree or Technical Degree in Merchandising/Product Development/Design, Business or Supply Chain ideal
• Previous use in a Product lifecycle Management system a must.
• Exposure to Sourcing & Production of multiple product categories
• Proven track record of effectively communicating with manufacturers
• Ability to manage multiple SKU’s an timelines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple design and development partners, a team player

3. Proficiency in Chinese is a plus for supporting collaboration with global teams and suppliers.
