The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and maintaining the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with AS9100, FAA, EASA, NADCAP, and customer-specific aerospace requirements. This role ensures product conformity, regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction within a precision aerospace manufacturing environment.



The Quality Manager provides strategic leadership across Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Inspection, and Continuous Improvement functions while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.



Key Responsibilities

Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Maintain and improve the AS9100-compliant Quality Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA, EASA, ITAR, NADCAP, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Lead internal and external audits (customer, registrar, regulatory).
  • Serve as primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and certification bodies.
  • Manage document control, change management, and quality records retention.

Product Quality & Compliance

  • Oversee inspection, testing, and release of aerospace components and assemblies.
  • Ensure First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102 requirements.
  • Review and approve corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Lead root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, RCCA).
  • Ensure nonconforming material control and disposition (MRB participation).

Customer & Supplier Quality

  • Interface with customers on quality performance, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Manage customer complaints and drive timely resolution.
  • Oversee supplier quality performance and approval processes.
  • Support supplier audits and quality development initiatives.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop Quality Engineers, Inspectors, and Technicians.
  • Establish departmental KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Provide training on quality standards, regulatory requirements, and procedures.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and risk-based thinking initiatives.
  • Monitor quality metrics (PPM, scrap, rework, COPQ, on-time delivery impact).
  • Lead risk assessments and mitigation strategies (FMEA).
  • Support operational excellence and cost reduction initiatives.

Reporting & Metrics

  • Present quality performance reports to executive leadership.
  • Track and analyze trends in defects, escapes, and audit findings.
  • Maintain quality dashboards and compliance metrics.




Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Experience

  • 7–10+ years of quality experience in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Minimum 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100 and AS9102 standards.
  • Experience with FAA Part 21/145 regulations (as applicable).
  • NADCAP experience preferred.
  • Experience in machining, fabrication, composites, or precision manufacturing preferred.

The Opportunity

The University of Central Florida, College of Medicine (UCF COM) is seeking exceptional candidates for two full-time faculty positions within the Department of Medicine's Aerospace Medicine program at the assistant, associate or professor of medicine rank. These positions are available in either the tenure or non-tenure track. Candidates will contribute to the academic missions of education, research, and clinical services.

The successful candidates will engage in teaching activities across undergraduate and graduate programs, including the development of new courses, and collaboration with interdisciplinary faculty. In addition, they will actively contribute to research endeavors and secure extramural funding to support innovative aerospace medicine initiatives. The chosen candidates will be tasked to:


  • Expand the UCF COM aerospace medicine research program, with a focus on hypothesis-driven investigator-initiated externally funded studies. This will be facilitated by a robust human research team and extensive logistic administrative support.


  • Another aim is collaborative research and technology development with our faculty colleagues in the College of Optics and Photonics (e.g., for laser devices) and the College of Engineering and Computer Science, among the 12 other colleges.


  • Support the development of a new Aerospace and Extreme Environments Medical Systems Integration and Rapid Prototyping Laboratory.


  • Design, develop, and conduct experiments in the domain of aerospace medicine and extreme medicine, facilitated by the use of the Aerospace and Extreme Environments Medical Systems Integration and Rapid Prototyping Laboratory and other UCF resources such as a newly established biobank for aerospace medicine and extreme environments.


  • Support the development and operation of undergraduate and graduate training programs in aerospace medicine and extreme environments.


  • Provide high-quality teaching in undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including course design, classroom instruction, and mentoring students in aerospace medicine topics.


  • Support the development of new commercial services for space biomedical research with government, industry, and academia.


  • Provide leadership and service to the Department, College and University (by such activities as committee participation and learner mentorship), as well as to the state of Florida and the broad academic community.


  • Promote a culture of innovation and excellence in the Department of Medicine's Aerospace Medicine Program.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • M.D., D.O., or Ph.D. degreefrom an accredited institution in a related discipline.


  • Five years of postgraduate relevant experience in aerospace medicine. Experience collaborating on interdisciplinary projects and fostering government, academic, and industry partnerships.


  • Consistent track record of research and peer-reviewed publications in aerospace and relevant extreme environments medicine.


  • Consistent track record of substantial funding from NASA, DoD or related sources.


  • Demonstrated ability to iterate quickly and act decisively in dynamic and rapidly changing environments.


  • Capacity to balance multiple responsibilities effectively, while maintaining a commitment to innovation and excellence.


  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.


  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status.


  • To be eligible for appointment as a tenured associate professor or professor of medicine upon hire, the selected candidate must have a demonstrated record teaching, research, and service commensurate with a tenured faculty appointment at the rank of associate professor or professor of medicine in the department.

  • Dual credentials of M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from an accredited institution.


  • Proven track record of leadership in multidisciplinary and collaborative settings. Demonstrated experience in space, extreme environments, and aviation medicine.

Job Summary

The School of Aerospace Engineering ( ) at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions. Applicants will be considered at all ranks and in any technical areas of relevance to aerospace systems, interpreted broadly. These areas include artificial intelligence and dynamical systems.

Typically reporting to the School Chair, the Professor is a tenured/tenure-track faculty member who performs a combination of teaching, research, and service. Professors may hold administrative appointments as long as the majority of their time is dedicated to teaching, research, and service. Professors hold a terminal degree and have normally spent three or more years at the rank of Associate Professor. The position is located at the Atlanta Campus, Atlanta Georgia.

Accountability:



The Cost Accountant is responsible for the compilation of cost information for products and services for a specific job or project. Key responsibilities will encompass the investigation of costs that differ from expectations, assisting in resolving those differences and preparing reports. The primary charge of this position will be to bring a higher level of operational effectiveness by streamlining and consolidating processes and systems. They will do this by investigating and analyzing current situations and recommending cost-effective solutions or improvements.   • Plan and conduct investigations, audits and analyses of a variety of financial information used in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, business plans, prices, costs of products, services and operations, and prepare reports and recommendations.

Description

In an assigned cell, perform a variety of inspection processes, using various tools and equipment, following standardized methods and established techniques, to verify production process integrity up through and which may include preparation and presentation of parts to customer for Final Inspection or sale. Assist in 1st Article presentations or Production Lot Test initiatives. Accept or reject material based on findings.



TYPICAL DUTIES:




  • Work from applicable written inspection procedures, drawings, and other pertinent instructions to plan and perform dimensional and visual inspection on parts, tools, gages, and other equipment, accepting material or referring for rework or quality review based on findings.
  • Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments including computerized machines where program instructions are well defined to check dimensions and recording results. Perform necessary mathematical computations to determine extent of non-conformance and complete appropriate paperwork.
  • Follow established procedures to perform in-line checks and verification of dimensions and make sure that operation sheets are being followed.
  • Recognize need and arrange for repair or replacement of equipment used in performing work as necessary.
  • Support initiatives as directed to reduce MRB and re-work requirements, and assist in the manufacture of quality parts.
  • Assist on various internal program audits.
  • May assist others at their direction in the investigation of unusual non-conformances, new or changed inspection sequences, and other specialized assignments within the scope and skill level of this job function.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement initiatives and function as requested.
  • Recommend, and participate in environmental health and safety practices.
  • Refer difficulties to higher-level Inspectors, Lead Person, and /or Supervisor.
  • Perform routine servicing throughout assigned area following specified procedures, and written instructions, such as operators' checklist, for upkeep and to assure equipment operates properly.

Position description

We are generating an applicant pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach regular and Summer Session courses, should an opening arise. In addition to lecturing responsibilities, general duties for these positions include laboratory teaching, holding regular office hours, assigning grades, advising students, and preparing course materials and exams.



We are also seeking applicants for Teacher Special Programs (TSP), should an opening arise. TSP instructors will be responsible for overseeing capstone projects in the Master of Engineering (MEng) program in the Department Mechanical Engineering. This includes: design and propose capstone projects and help match students into suitable projects. Meet with each capstone project team on a regular basis to review results, manage interpersonal aspects, and maintain efficient progress. Provide critical, constructive feedback on students' written reports and oral presentations. Coordinating and participating in the MS Plan II exam of each student at the end of the capstone project period. This pool encompasses engineering science and technology specializations relevant to both mechanical engineering and aerospace engineering.

Our Troy, OH site location has an immediate need for a Brake Assembly Operator responsible for assembly of brakes and component parts of brakes while operating nut runners, drill presses, power screw drivers, grinders, electric hand drills, burr guns, riveters and other tools as necessary and testing of assembled brakes.

2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 3PM - 11PM

What You Will Do

  • Receive job assignments, piece quantity, and special instructions from the supervisor.

  • Read standard operating procedures and operating sheets.

  • Clean, wipe, and sand parts as necessary.

  • Set torque wrenches and assemble brakes and their components.

  • Test brakes, rework brakes with leaks, and replace lee plugs as needed.

  • Stamp information on tags or pads and notify the supervisor of stock needs or machine problems.

  • Record transactions and quality data; report machine or process issues to the supervisor.

  • Check parts against the pick list and set up riveters as required.

  • Torque all applications as required.

  • Retrieve parts from the warehouse and store/retrieve brake components, maintaining current inventory records.

  • Prepare brakes and brake components for shipment, including packaging, counting, weighing, labeling, and completing paperwork.

  • Move materials between workstations and cells using hand trucks, hoists, or robot assistance.

  • Set aside discrepant parts.

  • Clean and maintain work areas, machines, auxiliary equipment, and common areas to ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment.

  • Check and maintain operating levels of fluids and required machine materials.

  • Mask and plug parts as needed and touch up paint as required.

  • Attend training classes and cell meetings, and perform miscellaneous operations as assigned in support of Brake Assembly.

  • You will be required to perform mathematical calculations requiring addition, subtraction, multiplication or division and pass a pre-employment qualification test.

  • You will be required to perform substantial reaching and moving while standing, twisting; stooping; and be response to sounds associated to the work environment.

  • You will be required to lift to 25 lbs. unassisted, anything over 25 lbs. would be assisted.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment as required.Β 

  • Β You will be required to adhere to all EH&S roles and responsibilities as stated in manufacturing work instructions and EHS policies and procedures.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically Requires a HS Diploma or a GED

  • Minimum of 1 year CNC machining experience or minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience.

  • Experience working with technical documents (including any of the following: routings, blueprints, Engineering process specifications, written work instructions.)

Qualifications


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited institution required. 3+ years’ experience in project management in an industrial environment.

Our Collins Aerospace York, NE site is a manufacturer of highly engineered precision components supporting both commercial and military customers. Collins York is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. As a CNC Machinist, you will operate CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and other specialized equipment to convert raw materials into precision semi-finished goods. You will also perform finish work and marking on piece parts at various stages of production. Β All work is done in a clean, climate controlled facility where we put safety and quality first in everything we do.

What You Will Do:

β€’ You will operate CNC lathes, mills, grinders and other specialized CNC and manual equipment and/or perform finish work and marking of piece parts in various stages of production.

β€’ You will be expected to set-up and run machines on a wide variety of operations involving multiple machines that convert raw materials to precision semi-finished goods within print tolerance specification.

Job Summary
The Aircraft Mechanic works on-site in Fort Worth, TX as a regular, full-time, hourly Team Member on the shop floor in a manufacturing environment. This role requires the ability to set-up and operate various types of equipment, fixtures, and hand tools to assist in the assembly of F-16 aircraft structural components. - Able to understand and execute to all forms of engineering (i.e. blueprints, specifications, T.O.'s, written instructions, etc.)
- Technical and mechanical ability to manufacture shop aid tools
- Use of measuring equipment (i.e. calipers, scales, etc.)
- Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
- Follow detailed written or oral instructions
- Anticipate issues with an assembly process and provide solutions
Preferred:
- Additional F-16 aircraft manufacturing experience
- Lockheed experience
- Extensive working knowledge of an array of hand tools
- Familiarity with advanced measuring equipment
- Knowledge of general business computer software and aptitude to learn new software applications

- Able to work efficiently when under pressure

Job Description:

β€’ Utilize Catia V5 to design & draft tooling solutions to support aircraft modification and instrumentation installation.

β€’ Ensure all designs, data, and documentation adheres to ITAR, DOD, and program specific security requirements.

β€’ Collaborate with flight test engineers, stress, and mechanics to create functional, safe, and reliable tooling.

β€’ Provide on-site technical support during aircraft modification.

β€’ Coordinate with suppliers, internal shops, & customers to ensure manufacturability and rapid turnaround of complex tooling.

β€’ Create laser tracker support models and instructions for locating critical parts within the aircraft reference system per interface control documentation (ICD) and internal/external conformance.

β€’ Own and manage tooling schedules, balancing multiple priorities to ensure on time delivery of design packages within the forecasted budget.

β€’ Create a variety of tool types such as Floor Assembly Jigs, Drill Jigs, Holding Fixtures, Overhead Mechanical Equipment, Shipping Fixtures, Weld Jigs, Contour Templates, Scaffolding etc.

β€’ Build BOM’s and coordinate with Material Logistics for the ordering of tooling raw materials and components.

β€’ Provide estimates for the Bids & Proposals team for internal & external tooling.

β€’ Support the Methods team with assembly build sequencing.

β€’ Create visual work instructions to showcase how tooling aligns with project objectives.

β€’ Create formal documents (TCM’s) to resolve technical issues or questions regarding tooling.

β€’ Analysis of tolerances from Laser Shoot & CMM inspections.


Requirements:

β€’ 10 years supporting major aerospace and defense programs through the design and delivery of complex assembly tooling, jigs, fixtures, and mechanical systems (preferred)

β€’ Proficient in Catia V5 & Enovia.

β€’ Experience with NX & Teamcenter.

β€’ Proficient in Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.

β€’ Proficient in GD&T driven precision design.

β€’ Knowledge of aircraft shoring practices.

β€’ Knowledge of traditional tooling practices.

β€’ Knowledge of traditional & NC machining practices & processes.

β€’ Knowledge of safe working practices.

β€’ Knowledge of 3D Printing.

β€’ Good written and oral communication.
